It is mostly found in tropical and subtropical countries, with Southeast Asia bearing the brunt of the disease burden. The virus can affect a wide range of organ systems, and the disease can range from a mild flu-like illness to severe dengue hemorrhagic fever or dengue shock syndrome. We present a case of a 21-year-old female who presented with dengue fever with neurological manifestations. Findings from a brain MRI, electroencephalogram, CT scan, and some routine investigations were supported our diagnosis of dengue encephalitis. Conservative and supportive care was provided, including intravenous fluid therapy, antibiotics, antivirals, antiseizure medications, and corticosteroids. The patient's GCS gradually improved with treatment, and physical therapy was also provided. Treatment that is both effective and timely can reduce associated morbidity and result in complete recovery.","PeriodicalId":22689,"journal":{"name":"The Journal of Community Health Management","volume":"17 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82633161","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The R value greater than 1 means that the numbers of cases are growing rapidly and clearly this variant is more contagious than the previous one. More over this wave is affecting children across the country. The data for this review were obtained from studies pertaining to clinical features, epidemiological and immunization trends in children obtained from various journals. As per the recent evidence the Omicron variant is more transmissible, but has less serious health consequences for children than for adults, it is important to avoid infection among children.","PeriodicalId":22689,"journal":{"name":"The Journal of Community Health Management","volume":"100 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90532492","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Organisational membership effectuates expression of clinical work, scientific understanding and ardour for distinction. Considering ever-exceeding scientific unfurling in clinical horizon and organisations’ role in upholding therapeutic excellence, it was decided to construe membership status among certain doctors inter-alia, reckoning allied benefits, if any. Study was conducted among 72 doctors selected semi-purposively from certain consenting medicos connected to scholar through various links during August’ 19 - October’ 19 incorporating medicos from diverse age-groups, specialities and functional domains. Sample size was calculated on basis of membership percentage observed in pilot study. Structured pre-tested questionnaire was formulated including participants’ personal attributes and parameters related to their membership in professional organisations with benefits ensued there-by. Questionnaires were circulated online, collected, analysed and tabulated.Majority (44.4%) belonged to 41-50 years and overall 59.7% availed organizational membership. Most were male (66.7%), post-graduate (52.7%), private practitioner (30.6%) with 47.2% harbouring 21-30 years expertise. Many benefitted by ‘relevant information’ (74.4%), ‘professional acquaintance’ (55.8%) and publication (51.1%). Personal reason (27.9%), scarce time, routine commitments (23.2% each) represented common pretexts for missing membership errands. Post-graduate, middle aged, experienced, male, private practitioners found significantly endowed with wealth of clinical information, publications, clinical acquaintances, professional knowledge and interactive confidence being associative.Study elicited precious information about elite professionals elucidating orientation towards model clinical society. Further research is recommended to explore factors that could play important role in professional lives to achieve excellence.","PeriodicalId":22689,"journal":{"name":"The Journal of Community Health Management","volume":"83 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86072274","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This type of information is helpful in maintaining the product quality while keeping the manufacturing cost low. The implementation of PAT will potentially improve the operational control and compliance as per regulatory guidelines for continuous real time quality assurance during manufacturing. The concept is relatively new for both academia and industry hence Considerable amount of study has been carried out to explore the various aspects of PAT guidelines and their successful implementation. This review mainly contains introduction and background of PAT guidelines as the first step in QBD implementation. Detailed understanding of analysis and selection of suitable analytical technique is the most important aspect of PAT guidelines. These analytical techniques will even play crucial role at the time of scale up and detailed evaluation of drug and dosage forms. The main purpose of this review is to understand the right perspective of PAT guidelines towards the goal of achieving products with highest quality.","PeriodicalId":22689,"journal":{"name":"The Journal of Community Health Management","volume":"15 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78217995","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In 2020, a total of 1.8 million cases reported as against 2.6 million in the previous year. The unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic derailed the momentum gained and the routine TB related services were adversely affected across the country due to COVID containment measures. The rapid and unexpected surge in demand for diagnosis, treatment, and care of COVID-19 patients has interfered with routine TB services. We assess the impact of Covid-19 on trends of TB prevalence in Tumkur district. By convenient sampling technique the secondary data was drawn from Nikshay portal in district TB centre Tumkur. All TB patients from last 3 years data was entered and analysis done in MS excel to compare testing rate, diagnostic tools, treatment groups, comorbid and treatment outcome. 3719 patients were enrolled for treatment during the year 2020-21 as against 6719 in the previous years. The co morbid percentage is similar across both groups and the rapid diagnostic test was used more during pandemic for microbiological confirmation of TB. Extra pulmonary tb made up to 30% of total cases during the pandemic with low contract tracing during the period. The case notification and treatment outcome are drastically reduced during the pandemic.
