Some of the common techniques for financial statement fraud include overstatement of assets, sales and profits while understatement of liabilities, expenses or losses. Due to such kind of falsification, sometimes the elements of financial statements do not represent the true picture of the companies. The main objective of this study is to identify the probabilities of financial statement fraud and the determinants discriminating the selected automobile companies between possible fraud and possible non-fraud companies for the period of ten years (2008-09 to 2017-18) using the Beneish Model and Discriminant Analysis. The findings of the study indicate a 40% chance of Bajaj Auto Ltd. being possibly fraudulent for the selected time periods. This study reveals that Total Accruals to Total Assets Index and Day’s Sales Receivable Index are the most important determinants for discriminating the selected automobile companies between possible fraud and possible non-fraud companies.","PeriodicalId":224637,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management, Public Policy and Research","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129671418","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Money mules operate covertly, concealing their identities as funds are transferred globally. Unfortunately, ordinary individuals can fall victim to scams and lose their hard-earned money through this process. India is also witnessing a rise in money laundering cases, and the Government of India has taken measures to combat this issue. This paper explores the various techniques employed in money laundering, including the use of technology. It also highlights early warning signs to recognize and steps to protect oneself from being unwittingly involved in such illegal activities.","PeriodicalId":224637,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management, Public Policy and Research","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130954881","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study analyzes the CSR spending patterns of these companies and the percentage of their CSR funds directed toward environmental sustainability. The results indicate a significant variation in CSR spending and contribution towards environmental sustainability among the top ten companies. Companies like Wipro Ltd, ITC Ltd, and Infosys Ltd have directed a considerable percentage of their CSR funds toward environmental sustainability. On the other hand, companies like Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, Tata Sons Private Ltd, and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd did not contribute to environmental sustainability, despite significant CSR spending. The findings suggest that there is a need for companies to prioritize environmental sustainability in their CSR activities, given the current environmental challenges faced by the country. The study recommends that companies should adopt sustainable practices and invests more in environmentally sustainable CSR initiatives to achieve a balance between economic development and environmental conservation.","PeriodicalId":224637,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management, Public Policy and Research","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129746981","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Over two hundred and fifty top-tier accelerator/incubator programmes, five hundred established financial backers, and two thousand enthusiastic individuals make up the investment community. Over 500 companies have been bought out because of the ecosystem, and it has already resulted in over 750,000 additional jobs. Cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) have emerged as global powerhouses and are now home to half of all active startups. Especially in India, there is a dearth of research providing empirical support for the positive or bad consequences of GST. So, we set out to see how businesses fared a full year after implementing GST by conducting an experiment. Companies listed on the BSE were selected at random, and three were picked for further scrutiny. The financial impact of the GST was measured. The results and methodology were discussed in this study. In order to fill a void in the literature, our study shed light on how the new indirect tax regime affects the bottom lines of businesses. Findings from this research will help policymakers, strategists, and managers address the challenges posed by GST. Research shows that businesses' financial performance is not noticeably different before and after GST.","PeriodicalId":224637,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management, Public Policy and Research","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128484206","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In our environment, we can find natural resources, biotic and abiotic things. For parochial interest, human beings are gradually destroying the environment and fulfilling present needs, but more and more natural resources are exhausted, which are not abundantly found in the world. Day by day, due to the population explosion, there is a danger to the environment. Basically, there are two types of energy resources, renewable and non \u0000renewable sources of energy. Renewable sources can be recycled and abundantly found, such as solar energy, wind energy, hydropower energy, and non-renewable sources of energy are fossil fuels, such as coal, natural gas, nuclear energy, etc. Non-renewable sources of energy are found in a limited way. Through coal, thermal energy is produced, but it is harmful to the environment and exhaustible. Therefore, the government of India has initiated the International Solar Alliance with 121 countries to produce green energy through solar panels. The present research may show, how solar energy will be an alternative source of energy for environmental preservation. Through NITI Aayog, the government is focusing on renewable sources of energy for solving environmental problems. It has also kept a target that by 2050, to make India a zero carbon emission country.","PeriodicalId":224637,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management, Public Policy and Research","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115289330","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Financial inclusion is demonstrated by having access to inexpensive insurance, credit, and basic savings accounts. This is crucial for the disadvantaged and marginalised elements of society. The central and state governments have introduced a number of initiatives to support financial inclusion, including the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Business Correspondent and Business Facilitator Model, Branchless Banking, Kisan Credit Card, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Self Help Groups, and many others. The core of Financial Inclusion's aim is to provide financial services to the enormous underserved population because doing so will enable the nation to reach its full growth potential. The implementation of the SHG plan in the Ahmedabad District, how it has changed people' saving practises, and how PMJDY has influenced these patterns will all be examined in this study. The 594 SHG members in this Gujarati village who were willing to take part in this primary data research were chosen at random.
