It aims at preserving the integrity, confidentiality, availability of the information system resources. The trend towards ubiquitous computing environment can be envisioned by addressing the 5G system. On one hand, the integration of multiple existing progressive technologies can target the objective, but, may lead to vast security challenges in the future 5G mobile networks. Nowadays, security in the public environment is necessary for preserving the data secrecy. The available private environments are more expensive than public area. As a result, everyone is agreeable with internet i.e. public cloud. Though several cryptographic techniques are proposed in Very Large Scale Integration with the consideration in area, power and speed. This paper concentrates on the survey of various cryptographic algorithms for existing systems of 3G, 4G and analyze the necessity for additional security aspects for 5G and suggests the choice of the encryption scheme that fits in the 5G pack to improve its performance.","PeriodicalId":224631,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Wireless Communications, Signal Processing and Networking (WiSPNET)","volume":"1 7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130890960","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose a spatially fair MAC protocol which divides all the neighbor nodes of a receiving node into two groups by comparing their propagation delay with the average propagation delay of the receiving node. The receiver then permits a single node from each group based on their \"earliest transmission time\" in such a way that the chosen nodes do not collide with each other. We develop a simulation model to evaluate the performance of our proposed scheme. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme achieves better performance in terms of average RTS collision, network throughput and CTS success rate compared to the existing SF-MAC protocol.","PeriodicalId":224631,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Wireless Communications, Signal Processing and Networking (WiSPNET)","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122502763","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Various security mechanisms have been introduced till now to secure the operating system. In this paper we are focusing on securing Linux operating system. Even though Linux is open source and large numbers of people are involved in developing kernel patches for security holes, there are still many malwares to exploit the existing vulnerabilities. Using our architecture we are trying to minimize the damage done by the malwares if not blocking them altogether. Our architecture is designed to ensure the principle of least privilege. Principle of least privilege guarantees that a process will get the privileges just enough to perform its task. This ensures that even if the process is compromised it can do the least damage to the system as it is running in a sandbox. Major chunk of our system is running in the user level to make it portable across the distributions. Our system uses a specially structured security ticket to provide fine grained authorization to user processes which is not currently possible in the traditional linux architecture. The security ticket is designed in such a way that it can be inherited by a child process, can be shared and is unforgeable. The core module in the system is called Secd (Secure Daemon) which authorizes all the requests and also manages the security tickets.","PeriodicalId":224631,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Wireless Communications, Signal Processing and Networking (WiSPNET)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123920594","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The symptoms of death arise almost one hour or several minutes prior to the incidence. The onset of symptoms is called sudden cardiac arrest. It may appear due to prior unhealthy state of heart or sometimes without any known cardiac cause. Worldwide, the researchers and physiologists are facing challenge and publishing all possible solutions to predict the sudden cardiac death at an early stage. Recently the heart rate variability (HRV) and all its possible parameters classified with different classifiers like k-nearest neighbor (k-NN), support vector machine (SVM), multi-layer perceptron (MLP) etc. are used extensively for the prediction of SCD. But clinical applications of such methods are still questionable due to false detection of QRS peaks in ECG signals for SCD patients. An attempt has been made in this paper to predict sudden cardiac death at an early stage i.e. one hour prior to its occurrence using heart rate variability analysis. The ECG signals are taken from online database for normal sinus rhythm (healthy subject) and sudden cardiac death (SCD subject). Different derived measures of HRV classified with k-NN classifier strongly confirm the prediction of SCD at such an advanced stage. For clinical applications of such methods, an effect of incorrect detection of QRS peaks on heart rate (beats per minute, BPM) is significantly considered and presented here.","PeriodicalId":224631,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Wireless Communications, Signal Processing and Networking (WiSPNET)","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117088450","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The PCB inspection involves detection of defects in the PCB and classification of those defects in order to identify the roots of defects. In this paper, all 14 types of defects are detected and are classified in all possible classes using referential inspection approach. The proposed algorithm is mainly divided into five stages: Image registration, Pre-processing, Image segmentation, Defect detection and Defect classification. The algorithm is able to perform inspection even when captured test image is rotated, scaled and translated with respect to template image which makes the algorithm rotation, scale and translation in-variant. The novelty of the algorithm lies in its robustness to analyze a defect in its different possible appearance and severity. In addition to this, algorithm takes only 2.528 s to inspect a PCB image. The efficacy of the proposed algorithm is verified by conducting experiments on the different PCB images and it shows that the proposed afgorithm is suitable for automatic visual inspection of PCBs.","PeriodicalId":224631,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Wireless Communications, Signal Processing and Networking (WiSPNET)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125882885","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Powering radio access network with green energy promises a potential reduction of network operating cost and carbon footprints while maintaining the quality of service (QoS). In this paper, we propose a novel network model for the downlink LTE-A cellular networks with hybrid power supplies. The considered network deploys BSs having individual energy storages and on-site green energy harvester such as solar panel. Under the proposed model, joint transmission (JT) CoMP transmission technique is applied for selecting the best serving BSs for user equipment (UE). Our aim is to investigate the potential of SINR based JT CoMP and distanced based JT CoMP on the proposed hybrid model and quantify their individual contributions considering stochastic behavior of traffic demand profile. Extensive simulations are carried out for evaluating the energy consumption gain (ECG), energy reduction gain (ERG) and EE performance of the proposed model under a wide range of network scenarios. Results demonstrate that a significant enhancement in on-grid energy savings for a prolonged period of time can be achieved.","PeriodicalId":224631,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Wireless Communications, Signal Processing and Networking (WiSPNET)","volume":"126 5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116434889","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
