Evian is among the leading brands of bottled NMW in France, exporting worldwide and becoming a role model for companies in many countries due to its long-term experiences in sustainably managing NMW source areas. Experiences of bottled water companies in France show that they are incessantly moving forward with proactive and advanced ideas to meet environmental challenges. For business sustainability, companies are dedicated to improving their environmental performance through effective and planned resource management. Evian has been working with the local community in a spirit of co-ownership to invent and preserve the water resource and fulfill its ambition of sustainable industrial functioning. The partnership aims to balance the protection of the NMW resource and sustainable agricultural development within the catchment.","PeriodicalId":224359,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Korea Water Resources Association","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132932706","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, this does not consider the trade in goods between countries. It is possible to use virtual water to come up with a supply and demand plan by looking at the export and import of products. This is because it looks comprehensively at the direct water use (water resources within the region) and indirect water use (water resources of other regions from imported products). Yet South Korea does not actively use the concept of virtual water in the national water resources plan. There is difficulty with calculating and identifying the appropriate virtual water amount as many of the research papers present only few of the cases or omit the calculation process. This paper introduces detailed water footprint values for calculating the virtual water trade for South Korea. The international movement, water footprint, and virtual water trade of agricultural and livestock products are presented and compared to existing research. The water footprint and virtual water research in this paper can be utilized as baseline data for future researchers.","PeriodicalId":224359,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Korea Water Resources Association","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134171363","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data from the comprehensive Facility Management System (FMS) operated by the Korea Infrastructure Safety Corporation were collected and used to analyze the aging of water resource facilities. Using safety grade data categorized by facility, type, local area, and grade, the ratio of dangerous facilities and the aging rate were calculated to analyze the status of water resource facilities and guidelines and manuals related to water resource facilities were investigated. Through this, four required actions to address legislative and policy issues were presented: 1) Readjusting the scope of water resource facilities and supplementing guidelines and manuals, 2) Establishing a maintenance system considering changes in disaster conditions, 3) Improving the FMS and activating standard linkage services, and 4) Establishing a facility asset management system.","PeriodicalId":224359,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Korea Water Resources Association","volume":"19 6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126937486","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As many studies for Muskingum model were suggested, parameters were gradually increased and the calculation process was complicated by many parameters. To solve this problem, an optimization algorithm was applied to the parameter estimation of Muskingum model. This study applied the Advanced Nonlinear Muskingum Model considering continuous flow (ANLMM-L) to Wilson flood data and Sutculer flood data and compared results of the Linear Nonsingum Model incorporating Lateral flow (LMM-L), and Kinematic Wave Model (KWM). The Sum of Squares (SSQ) was used as an index for comparing simulated and observed results. Exponential Bandwidth Harmony Search with Centralized Global Search (EBHS-CGS) was applied to the parameter estimation of ANLMM-L. In Wilson flood data, ANLMM-L showed more accurate results than LMM-L. In the Sutculer flood data, ANLMM-L showed better results than KWM, but SSQ was larger than in the case of Wilson flood data because the flow rate of Sutculer flood data is large. EBHS-CGS could be appplied to be appplicable to various water resources engineering problems as well as Muskingum flood routing in this study.","PeriodicalId":224359,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Korea Water Resources Association","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134307158","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
