The advantage of our method is that we don't need any prior knowledge and deconvolution stage to deblur the estimated result like existing methods. The low-resolution input video is initially upsampled to the desired high-resolution by a fast bicubic interpolation approach. After that, the gradient transformation is applied to the initially upsampled video frame. Finally, energy optimization is employed to recover additional fine details and structures. Our method is easy to implement and runs very fast. Moreover, in order to increase or decrease the sharpness of the reconstructed high resolution image, the user just needs to adjust one parameterg . Thus, our approach is suitable for the task of cartoon video upsampling.","PeriodicalId":223866,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Image Analysis and Signal Processing","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121895538","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Firstly, a new method of coarse DEM generation is proposed. In the method, a pair of images are divided into small blocks and resampled to a set of reference planes. The height of each block pair is estimated by measuring the maximum coherence of the corresponding pair resampled to different reference planes. The entire heights of the blocks are interpolated to obtain the coarse DEM. After that, the resulting coarse DEM is used to flatten interferogram. The residual interferogram generally is unwrapped. Therefore phase unwrapping can be avoided. Simulation result is presented. The resulting DEM indicates that the proposed method has good potential for topographic mapping of the seafloor surface.","PeriodicalId":223866,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Image Analysis and Signal Processing","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121852557","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it always is on the assumption that partial region of 2-D histogram equals to zero, while utilizing Shannon entropy as optimization function. As a result, the efficiency of image segmentation is degraded seriously. In this paper, we proposed a fast thresholding segmentation based on two-dimensional minimum Tsallis-cross entropy and PSO, which utilizes minimum Tsallis-cross entropy as optimization function which is non-extensive and calculates optimal threshold in improved gray level-gradient histogram which cancels previous hypothesis that partial region value equals to zero in histogram. At the same time, the improved 2-D histogram is clustered before searching optimal threshold value to shorten the time. Experiment results show that the proposed algorithm achieves a better segmentation quality and computation efficiency.","PeriodicalId":223866,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Image Analysis and Signal Processing","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124728486","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Good recognition systems are available commercially for alphabetical languages based on Roman characters and for symbolic languages like Chinese. But languages based on Arabic alphabets like Arabic, Urdu etc. do not have such recognition systems. The recognition systems generally have a scanner or camera as the input device for off-line recognition, or a stylus/tablet as input device for online recognition. These systems are used in conjunction with the input peripheral devices like keyboards and mice. With the recent developments in electronic tablets, pen movements can be captured more accurately. This paper presents part of the work for online recognition of handwritten Urdu language characters. Urdu language is based on Arabic alphabets with larger character set as compared to Arabic (37 characters). Urdu, due to its large character set and limited number strokes, is difficult to recognize. Many characters are similar with little differences. Online recognition of multi stroke (two-, three-, and four-stroke) handwritten Urdu characters is presented in this paper, whereas, single-stroke character recognition was presented in a preceding work. After necessary preprocessing, some novel features are extracted. Various types of classification methodologies are then tested in order to find the best combination of features and classifiers for two-, three-, and four-strokes handwritten Urdu characters recognition.","PeriodicalId":223866,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Image Analysis and Signal Processing","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124828788","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We first derive a deterministic expression that describes the beam pattern of arbitrary weighted cylindrical conformal array. Then, we derive the beamformer for uniform linear array (ULA) of directional antennas. In order to ensure that the performance is robust with respect to the quality of input fingerprint images, an enhancement algorithm is necessary. Gabor filter is a very effective tool for image enhancement. In this paper, an algorithm that take advantage of the characteristics of gabor filter functions both in spectral and spatial domain are proposed to dynamically estimate the gabor filter's parameters and bandwidth. Finally, the images are filtered in frequency domain using the obtained gabor Frequency-domain filter function. The features of vector graphics on the data expression and use were analyzed. The requirements of watermarking for vector graphics are discussed. Utilizing the characteristics of vector graphics, an adaptive classification method is proposed, which is based on the number of vector graphics entities' vertices. To embed digital watermark in the vector graphics by changing the statistical properties of different classification, this can be achieved by modifying the vertex value within an error tolerance. The extraction of watermark does not require the original vector graphics. Experiments show that this scheme has good transparency and robustness.","PeriodicalId":223866,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Image Analysis and Signal Processing","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115932269","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
