Unfortunately, the satellite systems suffer from some drawbacks which influence data transmission. That is why it is necessary to simulate performance of various current and future protocols planned to use for data transmission on the satellite channel. Three algorithms that can be implemented in parallel, recursive and hybrid architectures are introduced and compared in terms of their accuracy and computational complexity. It is shown that the recursive algorithm is the most advantageous in terms of computational complexity, while the parallel algorithm performs better in terms of accuracy reduction. Body postures and subtle movement, gaze direction, room acoustics, and joint object/data interactions are often misrepresented, lacking, or wholly absent within these systems. To obviate these shortcomings, a so-called immersive teleconferencing system is being developed at HHI within the German ITI project and in cooperation with the IST project VIRTUE. Following the principle of a shared table, it subtends a class of teleconferencing systems enabling conferees located in different geographical places to meet around a virtual table, appearing at each station in such a way as to create a convincing impression of presence. This system enables the participants to make use of rich communication modalities as similar as possible to those used in a face-to-face meeting (e.g., gestures, eye contact, realistic images, correct sound direction, etc.). The need of standardization in this field led DVB to head the regulator project, defining standards for digital video broadcasting and interactive services in all transmission networks, and recently for a generic common interface (the MHP API) to enable interoperable applications to be downloaded from broadcast networks and executed on receivers with specific hardware and software implementations from any manufacturer. The software architecture of a MHP receiver consists of a multitask real-time OS that gives support to the middleware below the MHP API. This middleware consists of an application manager, the communications protocol stack and a Java VM together with suitable API. Conventional implementations of MHP receivers use a proprietary OS. Our preferred modification of these codes goes to better compression with a very low picture impairment against original BTC methods. The modification uses the convenience of low-level changes of successive pictures, which are inserted into the \"difference byte\". In this way the whole level need not be transported. It is shown that the dimensionality of the genomic signal representation can be reduced by projecting the genetic code tetrahedron on an adequately oriented plane, leading to the complex representations of the GC. On these bases, optimal symbolic-to-digital mappings of the linear, one-dimensional and one-directional strands of nucleic acids into complex genomic signals are derived at nucleotide, codon and amino acid levels.
