Blocking voltage of the main switching devices of T-type inverter is lower than traditional voltage source inverter. Moreover, upper and lower DC link voltage are no longer balance because the values and characteristics of components used in impedance network cannot be equal. In this paper, a simple boost sixty-degree PWM (SB SDPWM) based on sawtooth carrier wave is applied to three phase quasi-Z-source T-type inverter for the purpose of AC motor drive applications. This technique provides to adjust the upper and lower input DC-link voltages of the inverter by controlling the upper and lower shoot-through duty ratios. This feature cannot be achieved in fully shoot-through technique. Small scale laboratory prototype is built and tested to certify the proposed SBSD PWM and also compared with traditional simple boost sine PWM (SB SPWM) technique. STM32F4 Discovery board is used as a main controller and implemented in Matlab/Simulink with Waijung Bolcksets. According to the experimental test results, SB SDPWM control method gives lower current harmonic distortion (THDi) but harmonic spectrum of voltage is slightly higher than SB SPWM. Moreover, SB SDPWM method achieves higher inverter output voltage and efficiency than SPWM method.","PeriodicalId":223198,"journal":{"name":"2020 5th Asia Conference on Power and Electrical Engineering (ACPEE)","volume":"194 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114308084","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, based on gas flow dynamical model, state transition matrix of gas transmission dynamics is researched, reflecting the relationship between the state variables, such as mass flow rates and node pressures at the evolving time instants in natural gas network. Then, with state transition matrix of gas dynamics and DC power flow model, two sensitivity matrices of IEGS, i.e. gas node pressures to power loads and branch power flows to gas loads, are developed to reveal the interactive influences between the two energy sub-systems. An IEGS, consisting of an 8-bus 9-branch electricity grid and a 15node 14-branch gas network coupled by a gas-fired generator, is established to validate the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":223198,"journal":{"name":"2020 5th Asia Conference on Power and Electrical Engineering (ACPEE)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114319233","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The mathematical model based on sensitivity analysis is presented for the coordinated preventive control optimization problem of small signal and transient stability. The nonlinear optimization model is transformed into a quadratic programming model by linearization the constraints through sensitivity analysis, so as to be solved by the ordinary quadratic programming method. In this paper, the computing flow of the coordinated preventive control is presented as well as the selection principle of control generators. A State Grid Cooperation of China (SGCC) 9177-bus system is utilized to validate the proposed method. The results verify the effectiveness of the coordinated preventive control optimization strategies for both small signal and transient stability. After the control strategies are implemented, the system can meet the requirements of both small signal and transient stability.","PeriodicalId":223198,"journal":{"name":"2020 5th Asia Conference on Power and Electrical Engineering (ACPEE)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116488884","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The low-voltage distribution network to be identified is divided into the single distribution transformer power off station areas, multiple distribution transformer station areas caused by 10kV distribution line power outage and the distribution transformer areas without power interruption based on low-voltage distribution network blackout event, restoration power on event and geographic location information. In each type of station area, Tanimoto similarity coefficient is used to calculate the correlation and non-correlation between distribution transformer, branch box, meter box and smart meter in each group, so as to achieve the topology identification of the low-voltage distribution network. And then the identified topology can be verified by combining the topology verification rules of the same distribution transformer station area has the same of outage and live state, outage duration, geographical location, power supply radius and so on. Through the actual case, it is proved that the method proposed in this paper can solve the problems of large amount of calculation, inaccuracy of calculation results, and inability to verify based on the existing big data mining methods. It realizes the efficient and accurate identification of distribution transformer substation topology, and improves the information level and data quality of distribution network.","PeriodicalId":223198,"journal":{"name":"2020 5th Asia Conference on Power and Electrical Engineering (ACPEE)","volume":"80 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127733734","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The rational design of insulation structure for the ± 535 kV DC circuit breaker is the key to system security. In this paper, the insulation design requirements of one ± 535 kV hybrid DC circuit breaker and the preliminary designs of insulation structure were described. The 1:1 3-D simplified FEM model of the whole DC circuit breaker was built, and then the fine model of the main power supply transformer was established with the sub-model method. The surface electric field evaluation and optimization was proposed, which was verified through the tests. The results show that after optimization, the maximum electric field strength on surface of the shielding electrodes for the DC circuit breaker decreased from 20.8 kV/cm to 17.8 kV/cm, lower than the critical value. In this study, an equivalent model is established for this phenomenon, and the values of capacitances in the model are solved by the finite element method. Taking the double-circuit lines on the same tower as an example, when one of the circuits is overhauled, the energy on the human body during the micro-shock process under several different conditions is calculated, and the degree of harm is analyzed based on the energy. The results indicate that when the line is directly contacted without any insulation measures, the maximum micro-shock energy on human body is 1.5mJ, which can cause unconscious reactions in the muscles, while wearing insulating shoes can effectively reduce the discharge current. As the line voltage increases, the hazard of micro-shock becomes greater. Among the three-phase wires, the micro-shock is most intense when the uppermost phase conductor is overhauled.","PeriodicalId":223198,"journal":{"name":"2020 5th Asia Conference on Power and Electrical Engineering (ACPEE)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115850426","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Once a fault occurs, the dynamic topology analysis method is used to determine out-of-service areas, match restoration scheme, and update topological structure. Out-of-service loads can be restored by creating micro grid with distributed generators or network reconfiguration with main grid. And the optimal islanding strategy is determined to improve the utilization of distributed generator in the former condition. For the latter condition, the aim is to identify a reasonable service path to transfer the out-of-service loads to neighboring feeders. After then the connectivity of the main grid with distributed generators is restored. Whether the network optimization is carried out or not which depends on violations of the power flow constraints. Moreover, a new code scheme with avoiding infeasible solutions is employed to maintain the radial nature of the distribution network. Illustrative examples verify that the proposed mechanism can be obtained the reasonable restoration plans under multi-type faults.","PeriodicalId":223198,"journal":{"name":"2020 5th Asia Conference on Power and Electrical Engineering (ACPEE)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130013812","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, there are few researches to evaluate the influence of SDL protection on the reliability of the conventional relay protection system of the substation, which may cause certain risks to the engineering application. In order to solve the above problem, a reliability model for the conventional relay protection system, which contains links of sampling, protection device and tripping, is established based on the fault tree analysis method. On this basis, a reliability model of the novel relay protection system including SDL protection is also built. The sequential Monte Carlo algorithm is used in this paper to access the protection system reliability. It obtains the failure sampling time and repair sampling time of one state switch through simulated sampling. With numerous simulations, the normal working time and working times of the system can be counted, and the system's Mean Time Between Failures(MTBF) will be obtained. The simulation results indicate that SDL protection will not reduce the overall reliability of substation relay protection system. On the contrary, it can improve substation protection reliability in the case of secondary DC power loss. This paper provides powerful theoretical support for the engineering application of SDL protection.","PeriodicalId":223198,"journal":{"name":"2020 5th Asia Conference on Power and Electrical Engineering (ACPEE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130042615","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
