(Tamarindus indica merupakan salah satu pemasok karbohidrat dan protein yang tinggi dari kelompok kacangkacangan hingga sangat potensial digunakan untuk pakan alternatif unggas, namun biji tamarin mengandung beberapa zat antinutrisi, salah satunya adalah tanin, Tanin dalam biji asam jawa dapat menimbulkan rasa sepat terhadap pakan yang mampu mengurangi palatabilitas ternak, tanin dapat dikurangi dengan proses pemanasan, salah satunya dengan metode pengukusan.) Analisa yang digunakan adalah analisa variansi (ANOVA) pada Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlakuan mampu memberikan pengaruh yang sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap kandungan protein kasar, serat kasar, lemak kasar, kalsium, fosfor, gross energy, serta tanin dan densitas biji Tamarindus indica dimana perlakuan P1 dengan pengukusan selama 10 menit mengalami peningkatan protein kasar sebanyak 15,96±0,11%, serat kasar sebanyak 2,79±0,01%, sementara pada beberapa bahan pakan mengalami penurunan seperti pada lemak kasar sebanyak 4,27±0,03%, kalsium sebanyak 0,77±0,00%, posfor sebanyak 0,23±0,00%, serta gross energy sebanyak 3644,40±24,50Kkal/Kg, Pegukusan mampu menurunkan kadar tanin yang terkandung dalam biji asam jawa sebanyak 0,2663±0,00018%, dan pengukusan mampu memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap nilai densitas biji asam jawa sebanyak 542,00±31,14Kg/m3. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen dengan rancangan acak lengkap pola faktorial (RALF). Faktor I = level pemberian ekstrak umbi sarang semut yang terdiri dari 2 level yaitu L1(10 mg/kg BB) dan L2 (20 mg/kg BB), sedangkan Faktor II = durasi pemberian ekstrak umbi sarang semut yang terdiri dari 3 level yaitu D0 (0 hari/minggu), D3 (3 hari/minggu) dan D5 (5 hari/minggu). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan analisa statistik diketahui terdapat interaksi yang nyata (P<0,05) antara kombinasi perlakuan level pemberian dan durasi pemberian ekstrak umbi sarang semut terhadap fertilitas telur ayam. Pemberian ekstrak sarang semut pada level 10 mg/kg BB dengan durasi pemberian selama 5 hari/minggu (LID5) secara sinifikan mampu meningkatkan fertilitas telur ayam (97,58%) jika dibandingkan dengan perlakuan yang lain (L2D3 = 94,38%; L2D5 = 94,32%; L1D3 = 93,28%; L2D0 = 92,90%; dan L1D0 = 2,84%). Variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah nilai Service per Conception, Calving Interval, Conception Rate dan Days Open di Kecamatan Glagah, Kabupaten Banyuwangi. Materi yang digunakan adalah 113 ekor sapi Rambon dipilih secara purposive sampling pada paritas yang berbeda. Data dianalisis dengan analisa deskriptif menggunakan nilai rataan dan standar deviasi pada nilai Service per conception, Calving Interval, Conception Rate, Days Open dan dilanjutkan menggunakan uji Kruskal Wallis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai Service per Conception pada paritas satu memiliki efisiensi terbaik sebesar 1,1±0,31 kali. Nilai Calving Interval pada paritas tiga memiliki efisiensi terbaik sebesar 374,4±29,02 hari. Nilai Days Open pada paritas tiga memiliki efisiensi terbaik sebesar 96,9±27,93 hari. Nilai Conception Rate pada paritas satu menunjukkan efisiensi terbaik yaitu sebesar 90%. Analisis data menggunakan Anova dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), jika hasil berbeda nyata (P 0,05) terhadap konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi pakan. Penggunaan campuran tepung kunyit 0,05 % dan probiotikk 0,05% dalam pakan. Secara numerik menunjukan adanya kecenderung yang positif terhadap konsumi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan, dan konversi pakan. Material used is local farmer milk. Variables gathered were Fat and Milk Density then calculated using Fleischman equation to get TS value. TS from Respondent compared with SNI using paired t-test in SPSS 16. Meanwhile, Milk Density and Fat is analized descriptively in order to know how TS value formed. Investigation result shows that there is a very significant difference (P<0.01) between TS from Tawang Argo Farmer with SNI which shows berada 0.92757±0.37647 % higher. The bighest contribution of TS come from fat with 148±26% above standard, while Milk Density contribute negatively as much as -0.0035±0.0008%. Materials used in this study were 100 broiler finisher 21 days of age and unsexed. The method using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and each treatment was repeated 4 times. The treatment given was to use different levels of bran then be added as much as 0.01% xylanase enzyme for each kilogram of bran. Statistical analysis showed that the addition of xylanase in the feed with different levels of fiber to give a different effect was not significant (P> 0.05) on feed consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion, carcass weight and fat percentage. The conclusion of this study is the addition of xylanase in feed that has different levels of bran have a positive influence on the performance of broiler production which include feed intake, body weight gain, feed conversion, carcass weight percentage, and the percentage of abdominal fat. The best results were found in the use of T3, the addition of 0.01% xylanase enzyme in the rice bran as much as 18% of total ration. The materials used were 54 heads of cow which selected purposively using some criteria such as healthy, free from any reproduction disorder and having at least sexual desire criteria 3A (red, swollen and warm). This field experiment consisted of direct observation and interview to acquire primary and secondary data. The datas were analyzed descriptively and continued by Chi-square test. The results showed that the value of NRR was insignificant influenced between the two treatment. The Conception Rate for frozen semen and liquid semen was found 62.96% and 51.85% respectively. The conclusion of this experiment was the successful rate of artificial insemination (AI) using liquid semen with the CEP-3 + 20% egg yolk diluent was lower than artificial insemination using frozen semen. The size and type of pollen carried by bees are very diverse. Plants in high altitudes may produce pollen of different diameters than those in low altitudes. It is necessary to measure pollen diameter from different plants to know the honeybees’ preferred food source. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of altitude on pollen diameter from various types of plants carried by bees to increase honey production. This was done by performing field experiments. The design used for this experiment was the completely randomized linear model with three altitude treatments, which were 0-100 m asl (P 1 ), 400-499 m asl (P 2 ) and 800-899 m asl (P 3 ). The results show that altitude has a significant effect (P<0.01) on honeybee Apis cerana pollen diameter. The equatorial and polar pollen diameter was reached by P2 wich was 42.1 ± 4.69 µm and 49.0 ± 4.98 µm, respect highly. Where as the smallest equatorial and polar pollen diameter was reached by P1 wich was 21.1 ± 1.45 µm and 27.0 ± 2.64 µm. To fulfill pollen needs, Apis cerana bees do not necessarily depend on specific pollen diameters. This study aims to estimate of genetic parameter on birth weight and weaning weight in Duroc and Yorkshire pig. The material used in this study were Duroc dan Yorkshire by the number of 286 and 2017 pig. Variables observed in this study were birth weight, weaning weight and mortality weaning. Data analysis of litter size heritability was estimated using paternal half sib method and heritability birth weight and weaning weight using nested design. The results showed the average birth weight and weaning weight in breed pig Duroc (1.22±0.22 kg and 6.52±0.98 kg) and Duroc pig (1.25±0.19 kg and 6.69±0.67 kg). Estimated heritability birth weight and weaning weight in breed pig Duroc (0.26±0.19 and 0.34±0.12) and Yorkshire (0.15±0.21 and 0.47±0.36). The purpose of the research was to know about the succesful l artificial insemination (AI) using liquid semen with Tris Aminometan + egg yolk diluent of ongole crossbre e d cattle indicated by Non Return Rate (NRR) and Conception Rate (CR). This research was conducted in sub district Tumpang Malang Regency, East Java on June 2017 until November 2017. The material used in this research were 54 ongole cross bre e d cows normal reproduction and estrus condition. The method in this research was experiment al using 54 head s of cattle with 27 heads in seminated used frozen semen (T 0 ) and 27 heads inseminated liquid semen (T 1 ). The parameters observed were NRR1, NRR2, and NRR3 and CR. The data showed the first parameter of AI success was 81.48% of NRR1, 81.48% of NRR2, and 81.48% of NRR3 used frozen semen and 96.30% of NRR1, 88.89% of NRR2 and 81.48% of NRR3 used liquid semen. While for CR showed result 62.96% for frozen semen and 59.26% for liquid semen. In conclusion, the value of NRR for all treatments still meet the AI success standards. The result of Conception Rate of Frozen semen treatments is 62.96% and the liquid semen is 59.26%. Keyword: frozen semen, liquid semen, N on R eturn R ate , and C onception R ate . Inseminasi buatan (IB) menggunakan semen cair memberikan alternatif daerah yang tidak ada nitrogen cair . Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi keberhasilan IB menggunakan semen cair dengan pengencer Tris Aminomet h an kuning telur pada sapi persilangan ongol yang berdasarkan Non Return Rate ( NRR ) dan Conception Rate (CR) . Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dikecamatan Tumpang Kabupaten Malang, Jawa Timur pada bulan Juni 2017 hingga November 2017. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 54 ekor sapi betina dari berbagai bangsa yang normal dan dal a m kondisi birahi. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah percobaan yang menggunakan 54 ekor sapi dengan rincian 27 ekor di IB semen beku (P0) dan 27 ekor di IB semen cair (P1). Parameter yang diamati adalah NRR1, NRR2, dan NRR3 dan CR. Data menunjukan keberhasilan IB adalah NRR1 81,48%, NRR2 81,48%, dan NRR3 81,48% untuk semen beku dan NRR1 96,30%, NRR2 88, 89%, dan NRR3 81,48% untuk semen cair . Sedangkan untuk CR menunjukkan hasil 62,96% untuk semen beku dan 59,26% untuk semen cair. Kesimpulannya, nilai NRR untuk semua perlakuan masih memenuhi standar keberhasilan IB. Hasil konsepsi perlakuan semen beku adalah 62,96% dan semen cair 59,26%.
