According to this report, the QA program is a living, adaptive document that needs to be refined, corrected and optimized taking into account the features of the PTS being in use and the available dosimetry equipment. After setting-up \u0000checks within the framework of the daily QA program, it became possible to automatically collect data \u0000containing dosimetry parameters of the PTS for subsequent analysis. It was decided to investigate the \u0000stability over time of some dosimetry parameters of the PTS in order to determine the ranges of their \u0000fluctuations and, as a result, to clarify the permissible deviations of these parameters. \u0000Results: The stability of the parameters associated with the constancy of the proton beam energy selection was studied. As a result, the study showed that the values of the parameters associated with the \u0000constancy of the proton beam energy selection fluctuated within much smaller limits compared to \u0000those proposed in TG-224. \u0000Conclusion: The obtained result may allow us to reconsider the approach to proton therapy planning \u0000system in the FSBI FSCCRO of the FMBA of Russia, in particular, to the choice of PTV margins. It is \u0000shown, contrary to the statement of the original article, that the term intensity is very widely used in \u0000various branches of physics, from optics and photometry to electrodynamics and radiophysics. At the \u0000same time, its ambiguity and non-identity of the use in different branches of physics, including the different dimensions of these quantities used, which often introduces a confusion and leads to errors in \u0000results, is also shown and discussed. For optics and photometry, according to the recommendations of \u0000the international SI system, the term intensity should be unambiguously understood as a quantity \u0000with the dimension W·sr–1. This is the main physical quantity of the SI system that characterizes radiation, but in Russian-language publications it is also called as a force of radiation, which can be misleading.

Material and methods: Gel phantom based on polyacrylamide (PAA) with addition of naphtol green dye and intralipid 10% was created. Optical properties (reduced scattering coefficient) of phantom ingredients were determined using added absorber technique. Thermal field distribution was studied with IR thermal imaging technique. 50 nm plasmonic TiN NPs, synthetized by laser ablation in liquids, were used as sensitizers of photothermic action. Photothermal experiments were performed using two phantoms: a phantom with homogeneous optical parameters, which are relevant to biological tissues (absorption coefficient µa=0.35 сm-1, reduced scattering coefficient µ's=30 сm-1), and a phantom containing 0.02 mg/ml of TiN NPs, which increased absorption coefficient by Dµa=0.65 сm-1. The part of phantom with the NPs was located under 5 mm layer of NPs-free phantom. Photothermal effect was excited by CW laser irradiation of 830 nm wavelength and 16 W/cm2 intensity (900 mW, beam diameter: 1.3 mm) for 2 min. Thermal field distribution inside the phantom was measured by IR thermal camera. Results: A tissue-equivalent gel phantom with independently tunable absorption and scattering coefficients was designed. The phantom had cubic shape with 30 30 30 mm size. Results of photothermal experiments showed that the use of TiN NPs as sensitizers IR photohyperthermia leads to a significant increase in tissue temperature (up to 5 degrees Celsius) at distances up to 15 mm under the phantom surface. In addition, a simple experimental setup for measuring scattering coefficient of a liquid phantom ingredients was described. Conclusion: A simple method for preparation of PAA phantom for modelling photothermal heating of biological tissues and studying thermal fields distributions was described. The phantom is handy and allows one to quickly experimentally simulate the photothermal response of biological tissues, including tissues containing various spatial distributions of photosensitive NPs. TiN NPs experimentally confirmed to be an effective sensitizer of IR photothermal effect.

Material and methods: collimation system parameters Monte Carlo simulation in Geant4 Software Package. Results: Simulation in the Geant4 software package is a reliable tool for solving such problems The good agreement between calculated and experimental data was achieved. The proposed system of spherical beam collimation using a source similar to GIK-9-3(4) (manufactured by Mayak), with a value of SSD=1000 mm, is capable of providing the required characteristics of the radiation field over the entire range of its sizes. It seems appropriate to consider the reduction of radiation leakage with the help of a jagged shape of the contacting surfaces of the collimator jaws, since the dose is mainly due to leakage through poorly connected collimator jaws, reduced to a negative angle. Conclusion: The performed calculation of the collimation system makes it possible to use the obtained results for the design of radiation heads of gamma therapeutic devices without additional scientific research. The paper also provides a detailed description of the libraries of physical processes used in Geant4, which allows the reader, if necessary, to repeat the experiment for his/her own needs.

Due to fundamental differences in DWIBS and DWI acquisition, the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values may differ, which could negatively affect attempts to compare with the available literature data or with conventional DWI studies. Purpose. Evaluation of the correctness of the calculation of the ADC values based on DWIBS images, compared to regular DWI. Material and methods. A comparative analysis of the ADC values obtained using DWIBS and conventional DWI on an MR-compatible phantom and on 20 healthy volunteers was carried out. Free breathing DWIBS as well as DWI with breath synchronization were acquired using 1.5 T MRI scanner. Results and discussion. ADC values measured with DWIBS and DWI were found to coincides well both for the phantom and for the volunteers in all the areas (vertebra, kidney, spleen), except for the liver, where the ADC values obtained from DWIBS images were 11 % lower than with standard DWI (1.06 vs 0.92 mm2/s). This may be due to the greater displacement of the liver during respiratory movements. The advantages of the DWIBS technique include a significant decrease in scan time (1.5-2 times with a 10 % decrease in signal-to-noise ratio compared to routine DWI), which allows for a quantitative analysis of ADC values in a whole-body scan in a comfortable timing for the patient. Conclusion. DWIBS can be recommended for calculating ADC values, however, a comparative analysis of ADC values in organs and tissues exposed to strong respiratory movements require additional assessments of repeatability and reproducibility directly when comparing areas with a strongly pronounced diffusion restriction.
