It would be a very expensive approach to totally re-write the code to convert the current text based chat product for supporting multimedia in chat services. An innovative SOA chat system architecture is therefore presented in this paper to create a new multimedia chat services for help desk by novel decomposition and re-composition of the services from the existing 3rd party text based chat product. A regular web mashup is memory-less which the current mashup operation is independent from the previous one. Our SOA architecture implements uniquely the session based interactive mashup mechanism which the current mashup operation is related and bundled to the previous operations in the same chat session.","PeriodicalId":222439,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE Congress on Services - Part I","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117270031","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These regulations are typically defined as policies, each of which contains a list of clauses. These are usually verified by periodic audits, which are usually ad-hoc, time-consuming and difficulty verify objectively. In this paper, we present a formal framework - compliance measurement framework (CMF) - by which compliance of the instances of a process model to a policy can be formally modeled and objectively measured. The primary element of CMF is process policy compliance index (PPCI). It is the compliance score of a set of execution traces of a process model against the set of clauses of a single policy. This can be further extended to multi-PPCI - for multiple policies - and organizational compliance index (OCI) - for an aggregate score across the entire organization. This paper focus on dynamic compliance checks where the above indices are computed over several instances of process execution. By using enough instances of execution, the resulting index reflects the real state of non-compliance while also increasing the probability of all relevant paths within the process model being followed. In this paper, we focus on PPCI determination, leaving M-PPCI and OCI for future work.","PeriodicalId":222439,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE Congress on Services - Part I","volume":"164 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124599301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When different service solutions are considered, there is more than one possible architecture solution for the network, mobile device and the back-end server. Combining the solutions wisely by applying the software architecture and engineering principles, a combined solution can be formulated for certain application specific use cases. As a result, many domains have begun to switch to this architecture style. However, to efficiently support different domains from an SOA perspective, several extensions have to be included, e.g., concepts for efficient data transfer or runtime adaptation of processes. On the one hand, our Open Service Process Platform 2.0 is a central SOA infrastructure including several extensions. On the other hand, this platform can be used as the basis for the development of further extensions. The unique features of our platform are: (i) orchestration and execution of processes in an easy way (ii) arbitrary extensibility with regard to simple specialization for various domains, (iii) central infrastructure within an organization, and (iv) full accessibility through Web 2.0 technologies.","PeriodicalId":222439,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE Congress on Services - Part I","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129540303","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

XPDL was introduced to allow process model exchange between information systems, most of which are based on proprietary workflow models. Our process interchange ontology oXPDL explicitly models the complete semantics of XPDL process models in a standard Web ontology language. The oXPDL process models may be used for integrated process analysisby querying and reasoning over multiple models and their instances in combination with business rules described in background ontologies, each of which may originate from different information systems.","PeriodicalId":222439,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE Congress on Services - Part I","volume":"90 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127200779","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Service discovery, i.e., the identification of existing WSs that can be used by new web applications, is one of the most critical problems deterring Web Service (WS) technology. Current solution is based on UDDI catalogue browsing that supports only primitive matching mechanisms and provides no control over the quality of registered services. We aim to refine the discovery process through designing a new framework that enhances retrieval algorithms by combining syntactic and semantic matching of services. The proposed framework will generate QoS information that can be utilized by new user of the service.","PeriodicalId":222439,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE Congress on Services - Part I","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132435846","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Non-functional requirements are spread across the entire service-oriented system or within individual services and cannot be allocated to one specific system / service artefact (such as a package, component). This makes them often more difficult to handle than functional requirements. The specifics of service-oriented architectures (in particular highly distributed services) bring up additional difficulties. In this paper, we present a taxonomy for non-functional requirements in a service-oriented context. The taxonomy implements three main categories of non-functional requirements: process requirements, non-functional external requirements, and non-functional service requirements. The taxonomy can be applied with individual services as well as with a service-based system as a whole. This taxonomy is considered as a starting point and check list when handling non-functional issues in service-oriented and particularly highly distributed environments.","PeriodicalId":222439,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE Congress on Services - Part I","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130485424","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The role of IT is changing. IT infrastructure is not only associated with hardware, software, and network components any more, it is becoming more integrated with business operation strategies, and being operated as a business service as well. A Service Oriented Infrastructure Framework is introduced here, which consists of four categories of components: Service Planning, Service Systems, Service Management, and Service Stakeholders; while other SOI frameworks presented today mostly address the Service System category only. This SOI framework is helpful for SOI practice in establishing structure, life cycle, and governance.","PeriodicalId":222439,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE Congress on Services - Part I","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131648137","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Information system landscape of most enterprises is heterogeneous in nature and comprises of a combination of legacy and modern systems. In many cases, applications with in an IT landscape might not be able to communicate or share data among themselves due to lack of common standards. In order to address this interoperability problem, an SOA based integration approach can be adopted. To adopt SOA in an enterprise, IT requires intelligent service infrastructure that drives and simplifies service reuse and delivers reliable integration across an inherently heterogeneous, multi- vendor computing landscape. This abstract discusses an open standards based reengineered solution employing SOA principles and deployed on a SOA infrastructure for service provisioning business process of a major telecom provider. The solution addressed the complex integration requirements that existed in the customer's IT environment standards.","PeriodicalId":222439,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE Congress on Services - Part I","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114295109","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In fact, Semantic Web technologies must integrate with Web 2.0 services for both to leverage each otherpsilas strengths. This paper illustrates how Semantic Web technologies can support information integration and make it easy to create semantic mashups. An intelligent recommendation system for tourism is presented to show the efficiency of our method. Through the ontology of tourism, the system allows the integration of heterogeneous online travel information. Based on Bayesian network technique method, the system recommends tourist attractions to a user by taking into account the travel behaviour both of the user and of other users.","PeriodicalId":222439,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE Congress on Services - Part I","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122442610","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
