Partindo-se da análise do conteúdo noticioso das peças que os jornalistas identificam como sendo sobre ativistas e ativismo, ou seja, que usam as palavras “ativistas” e “ativismo”, na informação televisiva dos dois canais públicos da televisão portuguesa – RTP1 e RTP2 - no ano de 2017, foi possível aferir quais os assuntos cobertos e as causas com maior representatividade que são de âmbito internacional e relacionadas fundamentalmente com questões políticas e de direitos humanos. Sendo práticas sociais dotadas de uma grande mutabilidade as ações ativistas são também alvo de uma volátil projeção mediática, no entanto, foi possível observar que os programas informativos da televisão pública não destacam a ação dos grupos ativistas que praticam atos violentos, privilegiando ações concretas no terreno, cujos porta-vozes são os cidadãos comuns ao nível social micro. O objetivo da investigação é estudar o futebol de várzea como mediador da cultura e das relações sociais na Comunidade São Gonçalo Beira Rio, em Cuiabá/MT. Pretende-se também: a) apresentar e analisar as estratégias de fundação dos times de futebol amador na Comunidade São Gonçalo Beira Rio; b) descrever e entender os aspectos organizacionais do futebol de várzea na comunidade investigada; c) analisar as formas/manifestações de relações, conflitos, embates e contradições entre os times de futebol daquela comunidade. Que papel teria o futebol de várzea na mediação das diferenças locais, que maneiras de fazer sua prática interatuam e modificam o espaço e as relações? A História de Vida foi o método utilizado, tendo como técnica de coleta de dados entrevistas semiestruturadas, registradas durante a pesquisa de campo. O futebol de várzea desempenha papel de mediação cultural na comunidade pesquisada, sendo veículo de interação social, produtor de aproximações e conflitos sociais, culturais e políticos. Motta","doi":"10.31211/interacoes.n34.2018.a7","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.31211/interacoes.n34.2018.a7","url":null,"abstract":"The National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) enlists a total of 157 members - publications directed to the African-American community in the United States. There is currently no research on how these publications have adopted technology through time, or if the adoption of new media contributes to their growth and survival in the publishing industry. In Florida, The Weekly Challenger, Daytona Times and Florida Courier, three of 13 historical newspapers, are connected in history and structure and show different types of survival methods. How have these publications adopted technology through time? What types of trends are reflected in these newspapers? What challenges are faced by the Black community weeklies? To answer these questions, the authors conducted case studies employing participant observation, lengthy interviews, historical research and qualitative questionnaires. A significant finding of this research demonstrates the difficulty to get responses due to suspicion and intimidation from the targeted audience. These newspapers struggle with a diminished workforce who lack professional and technical training and must perform multiple roles. This contribution combines autoethnographic research, social media analysis, and data analytics with theoretical frameworks such as phenomenology and psychology to globally investigate our current culture of AI-catfishing, social media metrics, and metrics manipulation. \u0000My paper raises questions about re-materializing digital divides and inequalities in the “offline world” through citing self-surveillance techniques and algorithmic biases to show how we are both at the whim of these AI-inflected prejudices but also complicit in reproducing them, whether through government coercion or our own cultural norms and rules. I trace our relationship with music technology to outline a trajectory of sensory disconnect and co-produced community — a framework for understanding current cultural phenomena and the ethics of distributed data, privacy, and the rendering of our bodies as a new kind of transaction, and currency.
