These injuries can range from minor, such as tooth luxation, to severe, such as facial bone fractures and concussions. The most important way to prevent sports-related dental injuries is to wear a mouthguard. Dentists play a vital role in managing dentofacial injuries due to sports. Thus, sports dentistry is an important field that can help athletes of all ages and skill levels enjoy their activities safely. By taking steps to prevent sports-related dental injuries, athletes can protect their teeth, gums, and overall health. Sports dentistry can help to reduce the cost of dental care in the long term.    ","PeriodicalId":222181,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pedodontic Rehabilitation","volume":"5 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138996414","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

If timely treatment is not performed it may progress to full fledged malocclusion that may require much time-consuming treatment and also correlation of trauma prone profile like class II div I or class II div II can even be beneficial in prevention of trauma. Early correction also reduces the psychological trauma associated with malocclusion. This Versatile 2x6 fixed appliance appliance offers many advantages over alternative techniques as it provides complete control of anterior tooth position, is extremely well tolerated, ease the space closure by precise tooth movement with shorter duration of correction, reduces the patient compliance, and less laboratory work makes it a acceptable treatment option in growing child. In the case report mentioned here a successful management of correction of class I malocclusion with maxillary anterior proclination was done during early permanent dentition using 2 x 6 appliance.","PeriodicalId":222181,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pedodontic Rehabilitation","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135108003","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There is a debate on parental presence in operation room. The literature on dentists' preference of parental presence in the operatory is sparse.\u0000Aims: 1. To determine the percentage of dentists in a major city who prefer parental presence in the dental operatory. 2. To correlate parameters like practitioners’ gender, practice type, patient volume, and patient age in allowing parental accompaniment. 3. To determine the significant variable that constraints dentists from allowing parental presence.\u0000Methods And Materials: The study group included pediatric dentists and dentists who treat children in their private or institutional practice. Specific variables that were addressed in the questionnaire and used for the correlation included: practitioners age, gender, qualification, years in practice, practice type, volume of children treated by them, attitudes towards parental accompaniment and variables that constraints the dentist while treating children in parental presence.\u0000Results: 43% dentists felt comfortable treating children in the presence of parents. Factors like gender, practice type and volume of patients have shown to influence the attitude of dentist towards parental accompaniment. The major constraint reported by dentists is that of parents intercepting orders and thus affecting the rapport between the dentist and child (85.6%, n=89)\u0000Conclusion: The dentists practicing in this city demonstrated a positive trend towards increased parental presence in the operatory.","PeriodicalId":222181,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pedodontic Rehabilitation","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133779293","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Graber’s stated that early treatment by growth modification during the eruption of incisors or before the maxillary incisors become locked behind the mandibular counterparts is more advantageous. \u0000Case Description: This case report describes the treatment of a child aged 10 years with skeletal Class III malocclusion. The treatment plan was carried out with the use of a facemask and the results were highly satisfactory resulting in improved facial esthetics, a skeletal Class I with a Dental Class I molar, and canine relationship, an ideal overjet and overbite.\u0000Conclusion: Thus, growth modification, if done in properly selected cases, alleviates the need for future orthodontic and surgical intervention. The study individuals were picked using simple random sampling. Using a standardized self-administered questionnaire, the data was gathered.\u0000RESULTS- Of the 215 dentists who responded, 80% thought it was crucial to undertake a caries risk assessment on young patients. Individualized Caries Prevention was used more frequently by 67% of dentists. There was no correlation between Individualized Caries Prevention and Caries Risk Assessment Factors, which suggested that patient affordability accounted for a large portion of treatment decisions.\u0000CONCLUSION- Dentists should encourage parents and caregivers to start a dental home concept as soon as possible, which includes education, anticipatory guidance on the prevention of oral illnesses, and caries risk assessment.","PeriodicalId":222181,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pedodontic Rehabilitation","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114624515","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
