The proposed reconstruction process enforces a better sparsity solution which is guided by the sparse prior from the L1 norm optimization process. In the optimization process, an efficient feature extraction operator is used to ensure accurate prediction of the high resolution image patch. The normalized cross correlation is used as a similarity constraint to control the matching of image patch in the sparse framework. Finally, the reconstruction process is made robust to noise by selecting an optimal adaptive sparsity regularization parameter using particle swarm optimization method. In the present work, coupled dictionary training is used to learn the dictionaries. The efficiency of the proposed work is validated with different real and synthetic images. Various image quality metrics demonstrates the superiority of the proposed work over other existing super resolution reconstruction methods.","PeriodicalId":22200,"journal":{"name":"TENCON 2015 - 2015 IEEE Region 10 Conference","volume":"39 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85151923","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition, its robustness for degraded data and significance for limited data is sought for the task of speaker verification. An adaptive threshold method is proposed to use on zero frequency filtered signal to get the glottal activity regions. Feature vectors are extracted from regions having significant glottal activity. An i-vector based speaker verification system is developed using NIST SRE 2003 database and the performance of proposed method is evaluated in degraded and limited data condition. Robustness of proposed method is tested for white and babble noise. Further, short utterances of test data are considered to evaluate the performance in limited data condition. The proposed method based on the selection of glottal regions is found to perform better than the baseline energy based voice activity detection method in degraded and limited data conditions.","PeriodicalId":22200,"journal":{"name":"TENCON 2015 - 2015 IEEE Region 10 Conference","volume":"60 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85650510","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover, the neutral section insulators at exits of substations affect the safety and efficiency of the electric trains, especially in high speed railway and heavy haul railway. A new traction power supply system adopting Vx connection traction transformer and active power flow controller (PFC) is proposed. The mathematic model of the new system is built and the compensation currents of PFC are calculated for comprehensive compensation. Moreover, the optimized topology and control method of PFC are studied. Group delay (GD) processing for refining the boundaries at the syllable level is attempted earlier. This paper aims at exploring vowel onset point (VOP) and vowel offset or end point (VEP) for correcting the boundaries obtained using HMM alignment. HMM models the class information well, however may not detect the exact boundary. In case of VOPs and VEPs, spurious rate or miss rate can be there, but detected boundaries are more accurate. Combining both HMM and VOP/VEP gives improvement in terms of log likelihood scores of forced aligned phoneme boundaries. HMM boundaries are corrected using VOP/VEP and model parameters are reestimated at the syllable level. Results are compared with that of GD based correction and found that overall performance is comparable. Performance for vowels is found to be higher than that of GD based refinement as the refinement in this case is mainly at the vowel boundaries. HMM based speech synthesis systems (HTS) are developed using phone as a basic unit with the proposed segmentation method. Subjective evaluation indicates that there is an improvement in the quality of synthesis.","PeriodicalId":22200,"journal":{"name":"TENCON 2015 - 2015 IEEE Region 10 Conference","volume":"13 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81967319","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, each human pose from action sequences is divided into multiple local rigid body-parts (LRBPs) by the multi-group 2-simplex templates. Second, a new local posture descriptor is proposed by a local principal manifold model based on Lagrangian parallel constraint (LPC-LPM) to describe each LRBP. Further, each non-rigid human pose is expressed by summing up all linear weighted probabilities of the geometry distribution of local posture manifolds. In addition, to improve the discrimination performance, spatio-temporal context descriptors of LRBPs are extracted as enhanced features. Experimental results show that our proposed approach achieve higher recognition rate for significant actions, which is better than previously results.","PeriodicalId":22200,"journal":{"name":"TENCON 2015 - 2015 IEEE Region 10 Conference","volume":"13 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78314386","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The most difference between this water patch antenna array and traditional metallic patch antenna is that the radiation patch on top of substrate is replaced by pure water. The water antenna array uses H-shaped slot aperture coupled method to feed the structure. Simulation is conducted with a commercial solver and the results show that this water patch antenna array can obtain an impedance bandwidth of 21% from 2.13 to 2.63 GHz for SWR<; 2, a high gain up to 18.8 dBi and a good stable unidirectional and symmetric radiation pattern with low backlobe and cross-polarization level.
