The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between skeletal protrusion of jaw and labiolingual inclination of teeth with maxillary and mandibular anterior alveolar bone thickness using computed beam computed tomography (CBCT). \u0000Materials & Methods: In this descriptive-analytical study, cone beam computed tomography images were obtained from 100 patients referred to the radiology department of Tabriz Dental School from 2013-2015 before implant insertion. Maxillary and mandibular protrusion was determined by measuring SNA (Sella-nasion-A point) and SNB (Sella-nasion-B point) angles and labiolingual inclination of maxillary and mandibular anterior teeth was determined by measuring U1-NA (Upper 1-Nasion A point) and L1-NB (Lower1-Nasion B point) angles. Then, thickness of buccal bone was measured at three levels: 3 mm below the CEJ (A), the middle part of the root (B) and the apex (C). Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and Pearson’s correlation coefficient and p value < 0.05 will be considered statistically significant. \u0000Results: Mean thickness of bone was higher at level C than other two levels and lower at level A than others. There is no statistically significant relation between mean maxillary bone thickness and SNA (p value > 0.05) except for B region on canine (Pearson correlation coefficient = 0.305 and p value < 0.05). There is no statistically significant relation between the mean maxillary bone thickness and U1-NA. There is no statistically significant relation between mean mandibular bone thickness and SNB and L1-NB. (p value > 0.05). \u0000Conclusion: There was no statistically significant relation between maxillary and mandibular protrusion and labiolingual inclination of upper and lower anterior teeth with alveolar bone thickness.

This research examined the correlates of demand for basic dental services among the Iranian households. \u0000Materials & Methods: This research was a secondary data analysis of cross-sectional data in which the data extracted from National Survey of Iran’s Household Income and Expenditure Survey-2018 were analyzed. The study sample included 17548 eligible households from whole country. The logistic regression model was used to analyze demand for basic dental services. Three regression models were estimated. \u0000Results: The probability of demand for basic dental services was reduced as households’ heads were more educated, non-married or unemployed (p value < 0.05). The probabilities of demand for basic dental services were higher among households of higher income quintiles comparing to the first income quintile (p value < 0.05). Furthermore, the probability of demand for basic dental services was higher among those households with elderlies aged more than 70 years old or those households with children aged between 6-12 years old (p value < 0.05). \u0000Conclusion: The possibility of demand for basic dental services was correlated to demographic and economic factors as well as age component of household’s members. Thus, the present study investigated microleakage ocurring from different class II composite restorations techniques. \u0000Materials and Methods: In this in-vitro study class II cavities with cervical margins 1 mm below the CEJ (Cementoenamel junction) were prepared in 64 extracted human premolars. The teeth were randomly divided into two groups. Group 1 (open sandwich): Glass ionomer was injected on the floor of the cavity and the rest of the cavity was restored using composite resin using incremental technique. Group 2 (Snowplow) one layer of flowable composite was placed in the bottom of the cavity and was co-cured with the first layer of composite resin. The rest of the cavity was restored the same as group 1. To evaluate the microleakage, the specimens were thermocycled for up to 3000 cycles and immersed in 1% methylene blue solution for 72 hours. Then they were sectioned mesiodistally and evaluated under a stereomicroscope. Data were analyzed via Mann-Whitney and Fishers exact test and p value < 0.05 was considered significant. \u0000Results: The mean value for microleakage in group 1 (795.74 ± 494.04 mμ) was lower than group 2 (972.99 ± 457.8 mμ), but the results were not statistically significant (p value = 0.117). \u0000Conclusion: It appears that microleakage in both open sandwich technique and Snowplow technique did not portray statistical significance, so both of them can be used.
