Education has an essential role in this process, as it is responsible for the establishment of the necessary knowledge and skills in students today, who will be the key driver in future development. ICT has been widely introduced to school programs for students to learn, but the meaningful integration of technology into classrooms is not strongly evident. Until recently, the use of these technologies in education practice is not explored in details. Many studies point out that teachers are the key determinant to the effective use of ICT in teaching practice. However, the issue of how students perceive the efforts of teachers in this direction have to be further explored. There are a lot of related studies worldwide, but very few empirical research has been done to investigate this issue in the context of Bulgaria. The authors make a scientific study on the role and impact of ICT to comprehensively demonstrate the effects of technology tools on the learning process. For that purpose, a survey that applies multiple case study methodology is performed, where both teachers and school students were the units of sampling used. The goal is to explore their views concerning the impact and importance of technology in education. The presented research formalizes and assesses the main aspects that refer to the use of new technologies in the education process. The current paper focuses on several issues concerning the application of ICT resources and tools in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and other subjects. The results point to the importance of providing appropriate conditions for effective teaching, so teachers can employ a wide range of technology resources to support many different pedagogical strategies to enhance the comprehension of students.","PeriodicalId":221469,"journal":{"name":"2019 29th Annual Conference of the European Association for Education in Electrical and Information Engineering (EAEEIE)","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122954831","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using this system, lecturers can produce video material with their own computers anywhere, at any time. The system enables the production of longer lecture videos as well as short videos, each containing only one of the course's topics. The system also handles video sharing for students automatically in a meaningful way through the course's table of contents. An evaluation of the first production version of the video production and distribution system was carried out by collecting qualitative material from the lecturers and students.","PeriodicalId":221469,"journal":{"name":"2019 29th Annual Conference of the European Association for Education in Electrical and Information Engineering (EAEEIE)","volume":"103 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123078122","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The training aim is to teach the students to drive a pick and place robot using a safe industrial control solution. The solution deploys a power line communication protocol stack to transmit data on the DC bus. This solution supports the safe operation for industrial system. Notably, we propose a CANopen Oriented layer over PLC physical layer to implement reliable motion control for the pick and place robot (type TBOT). When a fault happens (due to stuck motor drivers, etc.), the communication system must provide the guarding mode automatically (e.g., change path planning) to guarantee the operation. The approach brings forward a multi-motor synchronizing drive control with a distributed control system based on PLC network communication. Moreover, this paper presents some fault case studies and analysis. Afterward, the path planning algorithms are designed to control the stepper motors. The experimental results indicate the accuracy and stability of motion control in real-time.","PeriodicalId":221469,"journal":{"name":"2019 29th Annual Conference of the European Association for Education in Electrical and Information Engineering (EAEEIE)","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124250800","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Additionally, as it is present in strategic domains like the military, healthcare or critical infrastructure, the aspect of protection, i.e. cybersecurity is of utmost importance. In recent years, the demand for cybersecurity experts is exponentially rising. Additionally, the field of cybersecurity is very much interdisciplinary and therefore requires a broad set of skills. Renowned organisations as ACM or IEEE have recognized the importance of cybersecurity experts and proposed guidelines for higher education training of such professionals. This paper presents an overview of a cybersecurity education model from the Information Systems and Information Technology perspective together with a good example and experience of the University of Maribor. The presented education model is shaped according to the guidelines by the Joint Task Force on Cybersecurity Education and the expectations of the Slovene industry regarding the knowledge and skills their future employees should possess.","PeriodicalId":221469,"journal":{"name":"2019 29th Annual Conference of the European Association for Education in Electrical and Information Engineering (EAEEIE)","volume":"601 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116317401","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many aspects, not only the professional knowledge, have to be taken into account in order to ensure students preparedness to work in continuously changing environments in modern industrial companies. Because the conditions for high technology companies are changing very in 21-st century, it is very important for universities to empower the cooperation with industry to ensure up-to-date engineering education. This include also students' internships in companies and completion of students' Bachelor thesis in companies and with companies' supervisors. DTU Diplom has a long tradition for cooperation with Danish industry and about 85-95% of our students complete theirs Bachelor thesis in companies. In this paper, we describe different ways we cooperate with companies in order to ensure that most of our students have the possibility for internship in industrial companies and subsequently complete their Bachelor thesis in the same company. This university- industry cooperation benefits students, companies and university, because our students get skills necessary for their future jobs by direct participation in companies' everyday work.","PeriodicalId":221469,"journal":{"name":"2019 29th Annual Conference of the European Association for Education in Electrical and Information Engineering (EAEEIE)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114929266","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
