In our country, the process of diagnosing diseases in natural and traditional medicine is carried out in different ways. These include diagnosis by traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurveda medicine. Between both types of medicines there are common aspects, but at the same time different aspects; However, these characteristics are little known by health professionals. Method: A bibliographic review was carried out on the particularities of the diagnosis between traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurveda medicine with the aim of showing the elements that are similar and at the same time different. Books, pamphlets and articles on the subject were reviewed. Results: The elements that are similar for the diagnosis between both medicines and at the same time those that are different are presented. Conclusion: Knowledge of the common and different aspects in the diagnostic process between both medicines will allow the interested party to go deeper into determining the disease for subsequent treatment.","PeriodicalId":221440,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Natural & Ayurvedic Medicine","volume":"117 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140505219","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The natural stage is identified as the 'Prakriti', and the deformed stage is the ‘Vikriti’. When the Tridosha (or Panchadosha) becomes balanced (the natural stage), no psychosomatic diseases occur, and when the Tridosha (or Panchadosha) becomes misbalanced (the deform stage), then all diseases appear in their psychosomatic forms. According to the Indian system of medical philosophy, various types of diseases are caused by the mind, i.e., Panchavikara. These Panchavikaras produce the Panchadosha, which causes entire diseases on the psychophysical dimensions. All psychosomatic diseases manifest on the mental or physical level in two forms. Firstly, diseases are caused by the negative law of Karma, where almost 95% of psychosomatic diseases are caused by internal factors deeply rooted in the subconscious mind due to past acquired negative Karma, namely Panchavikara. Conversely, almost 05% of psychosomatic diseases are caused by external factors that are connected to the present negative karma-made subconscious mind. The principles of modern pathology are prominently based on these three misconceptions. Firstly, the cause of similar diseases in the various individuals is assumed to be similar. Secondly, it is assumed that most diseases occur on a physical level. Thirdly, the existence of the soul is denied. Vice versa, the soul-centric system of Indian medicine strongly considers that every individual is a unique and incredible being. Diseases are caused by the different factors for similar diseases in the different individuals due to the deferring law of Karma individually; thus, most diseases are considered psychic Ragatmaka Mantra therapy heals especially the outer subconscious (Manomaya Sharira) and inner subconscious mind (Karana Sharira). This therapy eradicates all psychosomatic diseases from their root causes in the subconscious mind forever.","PeriodicalId":221440,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Natural & Ayurvedic Medicine","volume":"20 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140505460","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is one of the most prevalent disorders affecting 2-5% of global population which is more prevalent among females. Thyroid gland produces two hormones Thyroxin(T4) and Triiodothyronine(T3) playing an important role in metabolism, growth and development of the body. In Ayurveda hypothyroidism can be co- releated with Agnimandhya Avastha especially Dhatuagnimandhya which has specific symptoms according to different stages, very similar with the symptoms of Hypothyroidism. Samshodhana is the principle therapy as hypothyroidism is a Bahudosh Awastha so here Virechana Karma is opted for the management of Hypothyroidism. Here, a traditional Ayurvedic regimen was attempted to treat a 25year old female with known case of hypothyroidism for last 5 years. Ayurveda has accorded equal priority to food and its preparation, storage, utensils, regulations for consumption, unsuitable diet (Viruddha Ahara), and other factors that affect skin health because nutrition is a significant indicator of development. The word Sandhivata is derived from “Sandhi” and “Vata”. When the vitiated vata localizes in sandhi i.e. joint, it is termed classically as sandhigata vata. It is one, among the eighty nanatmaja vata vyadhis. It has been studied in close proximity to Osteoarthritis. Sandhivata most commonly occurs in vridhaavastha due to dhatukshaya. mostly affecting the weight bearing ones. Here, vata afflicted due to nidan sewana, localizes in kha baigunya; sandhi, manifesting pain, swelling and restriction of movement locally. Material and Methods: Review of literature using ayurvedic textbooks, especially bṛihat trai and laghu trai, scientific articles from Pubmed, Google Scholar, databases searched with key words Sandhivaata, Osteoarthritis, Vatavyadhi etc. Articles were selected based on their title and relevance. The reported informations were screened and analyzed for the study. Conclusion: Sadhivata has been addressed as vatavyadhi commonly occurring in old age due to vata vitiation and depletion of body tissues. Various classical textbooks have mentioned sodhana and shamana therapy as well as multiple pathya and apathya which are helpful for preventive and curative aspect of sandigata vata.,The findings showed that with the collective approach of different shodhana procedures, including snehana (internal oleation), svedana (sudation) basti (medicated enema) and mrudu virechana (soft purgation), upanaha, jalauka, agnikarma, avagahana and shamana treatment (pacification) with vatahara, vedanahara dravya , sandhigata vata can be efficiently cured.","PeriodicalId":221440,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Natural & Ayurvedic Medicine","volume":"154 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140504932","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Shwaskuthara Rasa is one of the herbomineral formulations used very widely in practice. The systematic study was planned to explore the therapeutic potential of the Shwaskuthara Rasa based on Ayurvedic and contemporary assessment parameters from the clinical researches conducted previously with the help of various database. To review the clinical effects of Shwaskuthara Rasa in different diseases based on different assessment parameters, exact dose, duration, Anupana (vehicle) and it’s safety, the articles published in PubMed, Google scholar, Google and ClinicalTrials.gov database and AYUSH online research portal were searched, collected, segregated, analyzed and interpreted. It was observed that Shwaskuthara Rasa is safe and efficacious as a single as well as an adjuvant therapy. But the evidences are scanty to establish the clinical potential of Shwaskuthara Rasa as only seven researches are available with less sample size. Hence, studies are recommended in larger samples in comparison with the standard line of treatment in mild, moderate and severe cases so that it may be useful in emergency condition to treat attacks of Asthma.","PeriodicalId":221440,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Natural & Ayurvedic Medicine","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129944596","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the hormonal cycles with periodicity of 7 years for females and 8 years for males described in ancient acupuncture texts make full sense. During the growth and development of the girls when the hormones grow a seven-year cycle is obvious with hormonal rearrangement at age 7 when the girls change their teeth, at age 14 when their menstrual period starts, at age 21 when their wisdom teeth appear. This is followed by a period of stable hormonal content with two more hormonal rearrangements at age 28 and 35. It is followed by a period of hormonal decline with hormonal rearrangements at age 42 and 49 (7x7) when the menstrual period stops and the women cannot give birth to children any more. The same changes take place in the male body with periodicity 8 years and finishes at age 64 (8x8) when men cannot be sexually active any more.
