L-arginine (L-Arg) produces nitric oxide (NO): that involved in vascular regulation, immune activity, and able to eliminate intracellular pathogens. This work conducted to evaluate nephrotoxicity of ACR and the possible protective role of L-Arg at biochemical, histopathological, immunohistochemical and molecular levels. Forty male rats were divided equally into four groups; control: received the ordinary water and diet. ACR: Animals were given a dose of ACR (50mg/kg/day): dissolved in water. ACR + L- Arg: Animals given the same dose of ACR together with L-Arg dissolved in water. L-Arg: Animals administered L-Arg by a dose of 200 mg/kg/day dissolved in water. The exposure period was a month. Kidneys were removed and prepared for histopathological, immunohistochemical studies (caspase3). Also, kidney specimens taken for real-time-PCR technique to measure p53 expression and comet assay. Blood samples were collected for kidney function detection. Animals exposed to ACR showed several histopathological lesions including glomerular shrinkage, loss of PCT brush borders, degeneration of renal epithelia, deposition of hyaline casts and necrotic areas in the renal parenchyma. significant increase in p53 expression, significant increase in caspase 3 activity in renal cells and increase in creatinine levels. However, urea levels recorded a significant decrease. Animals treated with L-Arg together with ACR showed a marked improvement in all these parameters towards the normal status. Methods: The Total RNA was extracted from whole blood of both women with BC (n=120) and control (n=120) groups, then converted to cDNA. Amplification of HIF-1A gene (gene of interest, GOI-1) and GAPDH (as housekeeping gene, HKG) were done by quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). ROC analysis was done by using QI Macros for Excel software. Graphs were prepared using Microsoft excel 2010. Results: The results of present study suggested that significant differences between the GER in women with BC (4.58) and GER in control group ( 1.03) (p-value< 0.05). Metformin (MET) is antihyperglycemic drug with potential cardioprotective effect via AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) (increases fatty acid oxidation, decreases the production of ROS, maintaining energy homeostasis and apoptosis). Metabolomics technology deals with systematic study of chemical fingerprints of metabolite profiles. The underlying etiology remains unclear, and no curative treatment is available. Chlordiazepoxide is essential and useful as anti-anxiety, sedative, appetite-stimulating and weak analgesic actions substance, which recent evidence indicates its involved in emotional responses. Objectives: The present study aimed to use systemic drug such as Chlordiazepoxide oral tablet (5mg). Illnesses related to the oral bruxism by studying its effects in oral recurrent bruxism, this systemic therapy is not indicated in such situation among other drugs. Methods: In this study patients presented with oral recurrent bruxism were treated with Chlordiazepoxide oral tablet (5mg) administered orally once daily after night meal . The dispersible tablet was administered orally once daily for 10 days, 66 participants, 7 were excluded due to incomplete records (51 males and 8 females aged 45.0±6 years) with oral recurrent bruxism, divided into two groups; group A, 30 patients were randomly assigned to receive Chlordiazepoxide oral tablet (5mg) once per day at night, and group B; 29 patients with oral placebo daily for 10 days. Results: The results showed that administering of Chlordiazepoxide oral tablet (5mg) accelerated the healing process within a short time period (10 days) without complications or disfigurement in all patients. Group A, 24 patients, (the healing rate were 0.79%) of 30 patients were used Chlordiazepoxide oral tablet (5mg) doses administered orally had complete healing of oral recurrent bruxism at period time eight days of enzyme‑linked immunosorbent assay investigation. Critical literacy-based instruction is a critical thinking development technique that helps students become active meaning-makers. This study investigated teachers understanding and challenges on critical literacy-based instruction in teaching reading. In this case study, the research questionnaire and interview were used as instruments of data collection. The data collected from the respondents were gathered together to be analyzed using qualitative analysis of interactive models. The result of this study shows that some teachers were in misconception about critical literacy. They are also difficult to differentiate the concept of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) and critical literacy. Besides, they face several obstacles and challenges in implementing critical literacy-based instruction in teaching reading. Mostly, when they asked students to evaluate multiple texts to study how the story changes when told from different perspectives, read from a resistant perspective, and produce counter texts. Enhancing students critical thinking ability in reading can be approached from three perspectives; critical thinking, critical pedagogy, and critical literacy. This study only focused on critical literacy in teaching reading. Adoption of such behaviors can increase the quality of life as well as delay development of co-morbidities due to menopause. Aim: The aim of the study was to assess health promoting behaviors and sleep quality among post-menopausal in Pakistan. Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional study design was used. Study respondents included postmenopausal women visiting gynecologic clinic of healthcare facilities located in twin cities of Pakistan. Sample size was calculated to be 382 patients to achieve 95% confidence level with 5% margin of error. Two pre-validated structured questionnaires were used for collection of data in this study i.e., Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile II (HPLPII) and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis (p ≥ 0.05) tests were applied according to different demographic variables. Results: The results highlighted that among all the HPLP domains, highest mean score was observed for interpersonal relations (13.53 ± 4.65) followed by nutrition (13.16 ± 4.84) and spiritual growth (11.20 ± 4.43), whereas the lowest score was observed for physical activity (5.57 ± 4.10). The results highlighted that highest scores for PSQI were observed in the domain of sleep disturbances (1.43 ±.588) followed by domain of sleep latency (1.34 ±1.18) and subjective sleep quality (1.07 ±.739). Whereas lowest scores were observed in the domain of habitual sleep efficiency (0.25 ±.464) which indicates better sleep quality in this domain. Conclusion: The result of the present study concluded poor health promoting lifestyle behavior and poor sleep quality among post-menopausal women in Pakistan. There is a need of designing awareness programs and sessions for women in order to provide counseling to women regarding the effects of menopause on body and importance of adopting a physical and healthy lifestyle by healthcare professionals.","PeriodicalId":22121,"journal":{"name":"Systematic Reviews in Pharmacy","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79783234","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
