The PKK is a terrorist organization based on the aim of separatism from Turkey. Since its founding in 1978 until now, various acts of terror have been carried out by the PKK and Turkish authorities view the PKK as the most dangerous terrorist organization in its territory. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. Politicization factors are the main variable in analyzing the end of the PKK in Turkey. The result of the analysis is that the PKK will soon end through constitutional agreements through Kurdish representatives in the Turkish parliament which were won by HDP, a pro-Kurdish political party. HDP's success as the first pro-Kurdish party to enter the Turkish parliament even broke the 10% threshold, becoming an important momentum for the PKK and the Turkish government to conduct constitutional negotiations.","PeriodicalId":218936,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Terrorism Studies","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129793096","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The involvement of ex-terrorist inmates in disengagement strategy in Indonesia has also raised pro(s) and con(s). This research aims to explore the involvement of ex-terrorist inmates in disengagement strategy in Indonesia. This kind of involvement is hoped to become a softer approach because it focuses more in using kinship method, in a way that it will be easier to gain trust, and the people have the same experience and background in terrorism. The methodology used in this research is a qualitative with interview technique. This research found that the phenomenon of the arousal of new communities towards peace which was established by ex-terrorist inmates and combatants is a positive thing as a new medium for those inmates and other inmates who has the desire to come and disengage from violence. However, this kind of phenomenon has to be guided, guarded and controlled by the government in order to keep it in line with the true purpose of deradicalization and counter strategy of terrorism in Indonesia.","PeriodicalId":218936,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Terrorism Studies","volume":"130 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134033041","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Consequently, the US made Pakistan as its ally. Then after the Cold War was over and allegedly Pakistan helped the Afghan terrorist forces, US turned to side with India. But it turns out it was only Indian trickery to get support from the US. After the 9/11 WTC attack, the US set priorities that fighting against terrorism was more important. The US sided to Pakistan and invited Pakistan to work together to fight against Afghan terrorists. In this discussion paper, the author will explore and analyze what kind of win-win cooperation that the US and Pakistan have. Initially, the resolution of terrorism was still national related to political struggles in countries where the government system was weak and the democratic politics were still fragile, such as in Colombo, Nepal, Syria, Somalia, Sudan, and other related countries in sub-Saharan Africa. After the events of 11 September 2001 in New York and Washington D.C. has made the issue of terrorism placed high on the international agenda. This change occurred because the events of 9/11 had befallen the United States. The United States is a country with an international system that requires US national security. The existence of 9/11 also caused complexity or complexity in resolving terrorism and who deserves to be approved as a terrorist in the United States context. This complexity occurs because of the difficulty in determining who, by whom, and for what acts of terrorism are carried out. Therefore, in this paper, a further study will be carried out on the complexity of the definition of terrorism in the United States and who deserves to be called a terrorist according to the United States version. To analyses the problem in this study, the authors used constructivism and the research method used was a qualitative research method.","PeriodicalId":218936,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Terrorism Studies","volume":"os-33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127777114","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
