This paper focuses on compressive strength characteristics and provides the solution for ideal mix ratios of polyurethane foam. Fourteen (14) mix ratios are investigated in the numerical analyses; i.e. 1:0.59, 1:0.67, 1:0.77, 1:1.00, 1:1.10, 1:1.20, 1:1.30, 1:1.40, 1:1.50, 1:1.60, 1:1.70, 1:1.80, 1:1.90 and 1:2.00. The ABAQUS is adopted to measure the strength characteristic effects of each mix ratios and the numerical results are compared with the experimental results obtained in [1]. It is found that the maximum compressive strength is achieved with 1:2 mix ratio. This result is identical on both experimental work and numerical analysis. It is shown that the isocyanate ratio in polyol to isocyanate ratio increases the compressive strength. In conclusion, the ideal polyol-isocyanate content is determined with the relationship between the compressive stress and polyol-isocyanate content variation. It is observed that the 1:1 of polyol-isocyanate content provides an adequate expansion and compressive strength.","PeriodicalId":218798,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Automatic Control and Intelligent Systems (I2CACIS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128744289","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The orchestration and efficiency attract more attention and demand a more intelligent solution. In this paper, we present Next Generation PaaS (NG-PaaS) which provides resource management, application management and performance monitoring. The NG-PaaS is built on docker to enable fine-grained rapid management. There is also an intelligent scheduling system to improve the resource allocation and reduce response latency. A pre-allocation mechanism is designed to analyze and predict the application behavior to guide the specific deployment. The experiments show there are around 50% and 33% reduction in average response latency and CPU utilization respectively.","PeriodicalId":218798,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Automatic Control and Intelligent Systems (I2CACIS)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132623241","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These storage batteries have nonlinear behaviors against increasing their temperature. Therefore, thermal effect as one of important parameters is considered for modeling these accumulators. An artificial neural network is subset of computational intelligence approaches method that can identify a wide range of complex systems with the highest accuracy. In addition, this approach does not require much knowledge from the systems and is used as a black box model. In this paper, a dynamic artificial neural network approach based on Nonlinear Autoregressive eXogenous (NARX) model to analyze thermal behaviors of a li-ion battery is presented. The proposed network is trained by Levenberg-Marquardt backpropagation algorithm. In this method, discharge-load voltage and discharge-measured temperature of a li-ion is considered as input and output of the network respectively. The input and output data are provided from an experimental test that was carried out by one of the research centers of NASA. Simulation results show that the proposed approach is high accuracy to model the battery with MSE 2.032×10−2, 5.438×10−1 and 2.155×10−1 in order for training, validation, and test data. Also, regression R is measured the correlation between all outputs and targets about 9.674×10−1.","PeriodicalId":218798,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Automatic Control and Intelligent Systems (I2CACIS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130492762","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To stay healthy, regular in monitoring physiological parameters are unavoidable. In this study, non-contact video imaging techniques are proposed for blood pressure measurements whereas commercial oscillometric device is used for results verifications. Besides, the proposed techniques also able to obtain the pulse rate simultaneously. From the results, it shows the mean absolute error and standard deviation for systolic and diastolic blood pressure is 4.22±3.15mmHg and 3.24±2.21mmHg respectively. On the other hand, pulse rate measurements also achieved a good agreement with the oscillometric device. These results are fulfilled the requirements of American National Standard which is 5±8mmHg for blood pressure and ±5bpm or 10% allowable readout error for pulse rate measurements. As a conclusion, the developed non-contact techniques are suitable to continuously and regularly monitor blood pressure and pulse rate simultaneously without a break between the measurements like the standard cuff-based devices.","PeriodicalId":218798,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Automatic Control and Intelligent Systems (I2CACIS)","volume":"97 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133069574","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, behavioural manoeuvres that describe the pattern of vehicles movements and change of the vehicle flow are not sufficiently modeled based on the conventional inductive-loop traffic sensors. These behavioural manoeuvres are useful for interpreting the indepth study of traffic pattern in a traffic network. Hence, with the advancement of the available vehicle tracking system, vehicle trajectory dataset is selected as suitable candidate input for the traffic pattern extraction. The implementation of k-means and fuzzy c-means (FCM) clustering algorithm for vehicle flow analyzing task is served as focus in this paper. Similarity function based on Longest Common Subsequence (LCSS) is implemented to measure the similarity among the trajectories before clustering is performed. Rand Index (RI) is computed to evaluate the clustering performance of two sets trajectories with two different traffic scenes by comparing the simulated clustering result with the ground-truth result.","PeriodicalId":218798,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Automatic Control and Intelligent Systems (I2CACIS)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116987677","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This leads to the increased of accidents and vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) is an approach invented to tackle with this problem. In order to study the algorithm in VANET, a mobility simulator is needed for simulation. SUMO is proved to be a good simulation tool for VANET while MATLAB is good for future algorithm development. To develop a good simulation platform, modification on SUMO files are necessary. This paper discusses on the steps for creating a left-hand traffic (LHT) simulation file that is suitable to be used in Malaysia. Most of the hard work in creating LHT simulation is to modify the road connection and traffic light files. This paper also showed the results of the simulation after SUMO files modification. It is recommended that user make a good decision in deciding the map for simulation. Smaller map is easier to modify, while maintaining the same map for the whole VANET development can prevent a start over on the SUMO files modification process.","PeriodicalId":218798,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Automatic Control and Intelligent Systems (I2CACIS)","volume":"142 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116590334","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Relieving traffic network is a key challenge for a nation for improving its socio-economic systems and welfare to society. Control the traffic signal timing becomes a cost effective solution to reduce congestion since the space constraint limits the authority to build more infrastructures in city. Regrettably, most of the current traffic signal control systems are not yet optimized. They are preset based on historical traffic data; thus they are inadequate to cope with the dynamic changes in real traffic scenario. Therefore, this work proposes DGA to optimize the traffic network signal for reducing average delay during the morning peak hour. A comprehensive traffic model based on Public Works Department, Malaysia has been developed as the platform. The average delay experienced by vehicles to traverse the crossed intersection during morning peak hour is used as the performance metric to evaluate performances of the proposed algorithm. Simulation results show developed DGA is able to reduce the average network delay by optimizing the traffic signal.","PeriodicalId":218798,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Automatic Control and Intelligent Systems (I2CACIS)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134346920","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper aims to present a traffic model based on NaSchr model, but with a revised rule for randomisation. User can trigger a manual braking on certain cars and its effect on traffic flow can be observed and analysed. The traffic cellular automata model with manual braking mode is applied to a single lane with open boundary conditions. A new variable ‘bad-agent’ is introduced to represent the tailgater on road that cause the inevitable braketapping on drivers behind them, thus the emergence of traffic waves. The simulation results show that when cars come too close to each other at high speed, certainly it creates noise. This noise is the traffic waves that propagate backward.","PeriodicalId":218798,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Automatic Control and Intelligent Systems (I2CACIS)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131111345","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
