Our previous method uses the last two songs in a playlist to make recommendations for following songs that have a smooth transition of acoustic features from the current songs. However, in this previous method, if two or more songs are not given, it is not possible to recommend a suitable next song. Also, there is insufficient correspondence to songs which changing characteristics, such as a tune that gradually rises with a quiet melody. In this study, we propose a new method of recommending music so that the transition becomes smooth by considering the acoustic features that change inside the song. Our preliminary evaluations show that the proposed new method is more effective compared with previous methods.","PeriodicalId":218635,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 15th International Conference on Advances in Mobile Computing & Multimedia","volume":"394 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115915620","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A number of alignment methods based on features points, pixel information and transformation parameters have been proposed in the literature. All these methods either suffer from accurate detection of feature points or are computationally expensive that makes the entire matching process time consuming. The fast matching of images performed without alignment can benefit a number of image matching applications. In this paper, a transformational approach is proposed that identifies whether two images are similar or not without performing an alignment. The matching without alignment reduces the computation time of the entire matching process. The effectiveness of the proposed approach has been demonstrated on UMD logo dataset. The robustness of the proposed approach to additive noise shows that high accuracy can be achieved even when the noise is as high as 20%. Furthermore, the computation time is improved by decreasing the number of projections without affecting the matching accuracy. The experiments demonstrate that the proposed method is not only efficient but also highly accurate as compared to existing approaches.","PeriodicalId":218635,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 15th International Conference on Advances in Mobile Computing & Multimedia","volume":"76 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116402389","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To protect various pieces of data stored in the device, owner authentication has become essential as the frontline of security. However, with increasing use of these devices, usability is increasingly considered more important in addition to security when designing the system. To meet this demand, touch dynamics authentication has been investigated, but the minimum number of taps required by existing systems is 4. This paper introduces a novel method that needs only a single tap to authenticate the user on his or her smartphone. By using only the internal sensors of smartphones, we achieved an average equal error rate (EER) of 3.8 with 10 owners and 25 unauthorized users.","PeriodicalId":218635,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 15th International Conference on Advances in Mobile Computing & Multimedia","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125281500","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
