Animals and their habitats are part of society and humans connect with them, so animals and their habitats are part of all disaster-related activities. This straightforward statement has produced divergent theories, policies and practices including challenges to categories, labels and divisions for humans and non-humans. This paper collates many practitioner aspects regarding animals and habitats in disaster-related activities. It assists in understanding and training for situations involving non-humans before, during and after a disaster. Five categories, sometimes overlapping, are provided of (non-human) animals and their habitats affected by disaster-related activities: companion animals, service animals, livelihood animals, captive animals and wildlife and wildland animals. Other aspects emerge about animals and habitats contributing to disasters and to disaster-related activities. Some ethical and practical issues are discussed regarding rights for, responsibilities of and disaster definitions relevant to dealing with animals during disasters.","PeriodicalId":218435,"journal":{"name":"July 2021","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125347242","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In Australia, differing organisational approaches to managing owned animals in disasters can lead to different welfare and safety outcomes for animals and the people responsible for them. The need for consistency was reinforced by recent Australian royal commission findings. In 2014, the Australia-New Zealand Emergency Management Committee endorsed the National Planning Principles for Animals in Disasters, a tool supporting best practice in emergency planning and policy for animal welfare. This study examines current planning for animals in disasters in relation to the principles and describes their implementation in the Australian context. A national survey of organisation representatives with a stake in animal management in disasters (n=137) and addressing the national principles implementation was conducted from July to October 2020. Findings show moderate awareness of the principles by respondents and low to moderate implementation of these in planning processes and arrangements for animal welfare. Implementation of specific principles is described from the perspectives of stakeholders. Greater awareness of the national principles and attention to specific principles promotes consistency in animal welfare planning arrangements.","PeriodicalId":218435,"journal":{"name":"July 2021","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126430441","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Clustering based techniques do not rely on linguistic information and more convenient as compared to other traditional machine learning techniques. Combining the dimensionality reduction techniques with clustering algorithms highly influence the computational cost and improve the performance of sentiment analysis. In this research, we applied Principal Component Analysis technique to reduce the size of features set. This reduced feature set improves binary K-means clustering results of sentiments analysis. In our experiments, we demonstrate the performance of the clustering system with a reduced feature set to provide high-quality sentiment analysis. However, K-mean clustering has its own limitations such as hard assignment and instability of results. To overcome the limitation of traditional K-means algorithm we applied soft clustering (Expectation maximization algorithm) approach which stabilizes clustering accuracy. This approach allows a soft assignment to cluster documents. Consequently, our experimental accuracy is 95% with standard deviation rate of 0.1% which is sufficient to apply the clustering technique in real-world applications.","PeriodicalId":218435,"journal":{"name":"July 2021","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126075456","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Renewable Energy Sources (RES) are now being integrated in Distributed Generation (DG) based environment as a solution to this problem, hence resulting in Microgrids, with multiple sources and loads demarcating their footprint. Control and management of a diverse generation profile within a single microgrid is arduous and computationally intensive for a single centralized controller. This paper addresses this inherent problem and proposes a decentralized Multiagent based intelligent control technique to efficiently encompass the heterogeneous generation profile of Microgrids. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) based intelligent agents are deployed at the planning stage for each component of the Microgrid. These agents are responsible for maintaining individual local control parameters within the prescribed control margins, hence creating a multi-agent environment in a Microgrid structure. The proposed intelligent multi-agent control scheme is tested on a test system to furnish its merits over its traditionally employed counterparts. Simulation results show that ANN integration not only reduced the computational burden but also reduced the overall operating cost (around 10.2 %) by reducing the thermal generation.","PeriodicalId":218435,"journal":{"name":"July 2021","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132361424","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Fatigue and rutting are the major distresses which cause failures in flexible pavements. Different temperature control computer operated equipment’s are being used worldwide to predict the performance of asphalt mixtures at approximately same condition to those in-service pavements. Similarly, different types of polymers such as elastomer and thermoplastic have been used all over the world in Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) for the improvement of asphalt mixtures. But little attention has been taken to evaluate the effect of plastomer on hot mix asphalt performance. Moreover, the initial cost of elastomer is higher than other types of polymers such as plastomer. The aim of this research study is to check the effect of various plastomers on high/low temperature performance of asphalt mixture. Four performance tests like Cooper wheel tracker, dynamic modulus, uniaxial repeated load and four-point bending beam test are used to evaluate the effect of different type of plastomers such as polyethylene terephthalate, high density and low density polyethylene with limestone aggregate quarry and 60/70 pen grade asphalt binder. This research study concludes that plastomer increases flexibility and hardness of asphalt mixtures and improves the rut resistance, dynamic modulus and fatigue life of asphalt mixtures. Plastomer modification shows significant benefits as compared to neat binder for high/low temperature performance. Moreover, it can be concluded that plastomer provides an efficient and economical blend of asphalt mixture.","PeriodicalId":218435,"journal":{"name":"July 2021","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114497062","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Malfunctioning of the human liver upsets almost all the other organs in the human body. Usually liver infections are difficult to analyze because of inconclusive side effects. More often, the liver could be confronting critically but it may not be significantly unveiled. The main objective of this research work is to provide some standard liver diagnostic measures to minimize the risk factors, as better diagnosis is essential requirement in radiology. The Computerized Tomography (CT) contributes important information to the clinical evaluation of diffuse liver diseases. Haralick texture parameters have been computed on the selected Regions of Interest. B11 is used for discrimination and interpretation of normal and cirrhotic liver diseases. Normal and diseased Liver CT images were collected from Bahawal Victoria Hospital. Normal and cirrhotic liver samples of clinically verified patients were obtained and total 900 Regions of Interest (ROIs) were taken from the selected data. Training of the classes was next step after texture parameter computation. In this work, supervised classification method was used to classify the selected images. In this way, the classes were trained in a supervised manner. The maximum accuracy obtained during this research work was 100%, linear dimensionality was 1 and the linear separability was 0.99%. Results of this research work suggested that texture parameters have high degree of reliability to automatically discriminate similar tissue textures, when regions are obvious. This framework separates benign from malignant liver tumors with moderately high precision and is therefore link up the psychophysics with machine vision to outline, recognize, categorize or discriminate textures.","PeriodicalId":218435,"journal":{"name":"July 2021","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115972003","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
