The challenges faced by waste management systems include pollution of water and air, the spread of diseases, inadequate infrastructure and resources, and the need for efficient waste segregation. Recent techniques proposed to address these challenges include imaging techniques, thermal analysis, and machine learning algorithms. However, these techniques have their limitations, such as specialized equipment and expertise to operate effectively, labour-intensive, posing risks to workers, and resulting in inadequate waste segregation. The proposed objective of this article is to evaluate the effectiveness of YOLOv8, the latest version of the YOLO series of object detection models, for automated waste sorting. The aim is to increase efficiency and safety in waste treatment processes by using YOLOv8 for automated waste sorting. The results demonstrate that YOLOv8 surpasses its state of art algorithms in detecting and classifying waste, making it a valuable tool for improving waste management practices.","PeriodicalId":217957,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Sustainable Computing and Smart Systems (ICSCSS)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132386284","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It calms down stressed individuals of all ages. Farmers now have the profitable business option of raising birds. In India, there are about 30 million farmers raising birds. In Tamil Nadu, there are about 300,000 bird farms with approximately 2000 different species of birds. Climate change, habitat destruction, and a declining food supply are some of the factors that have an impact on bird farms. The labor-intensive upkeep of the conventional farm poses a number of difficulties connected to improper bird feed, water, bird health, and safety concerns. It takes a lot of daily, routine effort to sustain a bird farm, like constant bird watching, health monitoring, feeding, maintaining local hygiene, and other duties. Unhygienic maintenance makes birds ill, and can even lead to fatal. There can be substantial losses if a disease from one bird infects the entire farm. This scenario could cause a huge loss to the business. Therefore, it is essential to ensure the safety of birds. This can be achieved by automating the farm in response to environmental factors such as humidity, temperature, the amount of water, water quality, etc. Traditional bird farm practices in maintaining the birds’ farms are outdated and time-consuming. There are several techniques for managing individual chicken farms, each with certain drawbacks, but none have been suggested for the entire flock of birds. As a result, a method is suggested in this paper that can be used in this research to evaluate the factors that have an impact on bird health, make the necessary adjustments to keep it at its best, automate labor-intensive tasks, and reduce electricity waste, and keep the farm’s owner updated in real-time from any location.","PeriodicalId":217957,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Sustainable Computing and Smart Systems (ICSCSS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128878980","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nowadays, Different types of Cotton are used for clothing like viscose, rayon and so on. During processing, storage and transport of such viscose fibers makes the surrounding environment dirty by floating in air and sticking it on other objects. It majorly affects the body parts like ear, eyes, nose and mouth even though workers are wearing masks. Continuous exposure to cotton breathing could lead to various lung diseases like asthma, byssinosis, chest tightness and further can cause bronchitis. Exhaust fan does not remove the dust effectively and cannot be able to remove as much viscose which is grounded. Also, there is a possibility of increase in wastage of such type of viscose fiber which is expensive in the market. So the above constraints lead us to propose a product which will be able to reduce such viscose fiber waste and it is used to collect the floating viscose fiber by moving and collecting it using a cotton fiber filter. The accumulation of such viscose fiber is determined by either thickness or weight to provide the deposited rate at display and to reduce the wastage. The viscose suction vehicle is movable. Due to that, it can be able to collect viscose fiber more effectively and productively in all perspective environments. It can reduce the majority of the wastage of viscose fiber. The movable fiber vehicle helps to prevent inhaling viscose fiber and by drawing most of the viscose fiber to the fiber filter.","PeriodicalId":217957,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Sustainable Computing and Smart Systems (ICSCSS)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131680094","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A bird’s species identification can be accomplished using images and audios. In earlier periods, the audio of birds are utilized to possibly recognize the different species of birds. But, background noise from things like birds, insects, and the wind makes it difficult for this method to produce a reliable result. Comparatively, observer’s finds images are better than audios. Using images, people are better able to discriminate between birds. However, because of the inexperience of most bird watchers and the similarity of bird forms and backgrounds, identifying birds can be difficult. To address this, Deep Learning (DL) models have been implemented to efficiently extract features from photos collected for recognition. DL models for bird species identification provides more accuracy. The recently proposed transfer learning and spatial pyramid pooling efficiently classify bird spicies. Another recently proposed Mask-CNN based method solved few shot classifcation problem effectively. But, both of these method are suffered to distinguish the subcategory of spicies form main categories. In this article, the of bird species identification techniques are studied in brief to encourage further research in this field. First, the review is planned to investigate the DL algorithms for identifying the different bird species types. Next, the merits and demerits of every algorithms are analyzed based on its performance. Finally, potential improvements are emphasized to achieve greater efficiency in identifying the bird species.","PeriodicalId":217957,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Sustainable Computing and Smart Systems (ICSCSS)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127412447","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Monitoring speed is also essential for safety purposes as it enables the identification of vehicles that are exceeding speed limits or driving recklessly under current road conditions. The emergence of self-driving cars, which use a combination of artificial intelligence, algorithms, and sensors to navigate roads and make decisions without human intervention, is a rapidly advancing technology. Despite its complexity, this technology offers numerous advantages such as increased safety and reduced traffic congestion. One of the most significant benefits of self-driving cars is the potential to reduce accidents caused by human error, which is the leading cause of traffic accidents. By eliminating the need for human drivers, the risk of accidents can be significantly reduced. The frequency of car accidents is alarming, with one occurring every minute according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Auto insurance industry statistics indicate that every driver is likely to encounter at least four car accidents in their lifetime. Inexperienced drivers, particularly those aged 16 to 20, are at a higher risk of being involved in accidents. Annually, approximately 37,000 people die in car accidents, with one fatal accident occurring every 16 minutes. Among these, nearly 8,000 deaths involve drivers aged between 16 and 20 years old. Shockingly, more than 1,600 children under the age of 15 lose their lives in car accidents each year. To combat this alarming trend, measures are being taken to promote safe driving and reduce the frequency of accidents. Additionally, self-driving cars have the potential to improve traffic flow and minimize travel time as the vehicles can communicate with each other to optimize traffic flow and avoid congestion.","PeriodicalId":217957,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Sustainable Computing and Smart Systems (ICSCSS)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124352770","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Surveying and tracking of human activities are increasingly difficult owing to the random nature of human movements and actions. The reliability is greatly affected due to this randomness. Also a human operator cannot continuously monitor multiple screens efficiently in a consequent manner so an automated surveillance system deployment becomes a necessity. Currently, tracking individuals may be done remotely, and the analysis of the recorded images can be automated using object detection models, with the help of high resolution cameras and the development of machine learning techniques. This proposed system aims in identifying threats that are probable to occur in a public gathering or space which may be an explosion, accident or possession of armoury, etc. This proposed model takes advantage of the information from the image data to learn complex patterns and develop pattern recognition technique to identify the anomalies using high resolution camera and alert the monitoring authority in order to take the necessary actions. This proposed work compares various object detection techniques of machine learning algorithms and suggests the best model based on its performance metrics.","PeriodicalId":217957,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Sustainable Computing and Smart Systems (ICSCSS)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124420320","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Inadequate parking lots cause a tense situation in everyday life. Drivers of cars wander throughout the area looking for an appropriate place to park, resulting in wasteful fuel consumption and massive pollution on the environment. In order to tackle such a problem, a smartphone app is being created that allows users to reserve parking spaces ahead of time for their pre-planned outing. A two-way checking mechanism is used for admitting automobiles into parking areas in order to prevent stolen automobiles from getting parked there. This strategy also allows customers to choose the ideal parking place for their requirements.
