A well known approach for separation of sources is the transformation to the time-frequency domain, where the task can be reduced to multiple instantaneous problems. While these may be easily solved using independent component analysis, this approach has the drawback of the inherent permutation and scaling ambiguities, which have to be corrected before the transformation to the time domain or otherwise the whole process will fail. Here, we extend an existing clustering approach to cope with the case where spatial aliasing occurs. This is achieved by exploiting the direction information of whole clusters instead of single bins. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated on real-room recordings.","PeriodicalId":216293,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Conference on Digital Signal Processing (DSP)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127866097","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By employing the envelop tracking voice activity detection technique, an efficient switch scheme is developed, which can help the proposed algorithm distinguish the significant and insignificant input speech periods and thus work between the fast LMS/Newton and NLMS modes, respectively. Hence, convergence can be improved when the input excitation is sufficient and the computational complexity can be reduced when the input is relatively weak. Finally, simulations are conducted to prove the efficiency of the proposed algorithm.","PeriodicalId":216293,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Conference on Digital Signal Processing (DSP)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127990813","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Same as the full-band counterpart, performance of the subband multichannel equalizer (SB-MCEQ) degrades in the presence of SIEs. Firstly performance of the SB-MCEQ in different subbands is investigated. Statistical results show that the performance of SB-MCEQ degrades severely only in a few subbands, and they will be called `bad' subbands. Then a frequency-selecting multichannel equalization (FS-MCEQ) algorithm is proposed, which abandons the subband signals of the `bad' subbands or leaves them unprocessed at reconstruction of the full-band signal from the subband signals. Simulation results confirm that the FS-MCEQ algorithm outperforms the SB-MCEQ in the presence of SIEs.","PeriodicalId":216293,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Conference on Digital Signal Processing (DSP)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121441133","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the rumor centrality proposed in the Susceptible-Infected (SI) model by Shah and Zaman, we propose a rumor centrality based algorithm, that leverages multiple observations to first construct a diffusion tree graph, and then use the union rumor centrality to find the rumor source. Our simulation results on different network structures shows that our proposed algorithm performs well. For tree networks, increasing the observations can dramatically improve the exact detection probability. This clearly indicates that a richer diversity enhances detect-ability.","PeriodicalId":216293,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Conference on Digital Signal Processing (DSP)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129159856","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Fractional anisotropy (FA) from DTI is usually used to diagnose the level of cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM). However, the solely use of FA value does not consider a full information of 3D multiple indices of diffusion from DTI. This study proposed to use a classification based on machine learning to extract and determine the myelopathic cord in CSM. A classification based on support tensor machine (STM) was applied on eigenvalues extracted from DTI at compressive levels of the cervical spinal cord. This is a validation study to apply STM classification in 30 patients with CSM. The benchmark of classification was the clinical level diagnosis with consensus of senior spine surgeons. The accuracy, sensitivity and specificity of the classification were evaluated in the study. Results showed the use of STM classification provided diagnostic accuracy of 89.2%, sensitivity of 71.8% and specificity of 90.1%. Using the classification based on STM, eigenvalues of DTI can be detected by computational intelligence to provide level diagnosis of CSM, which could help the surgeons to select the most appropriate surgical plan to treat CSM.","PeriodicalId":216293,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Conference on Digital Signal Processing (DSP)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129289796","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using only acoustic signals, speaker tracking in enclosed spaces is subject to missing detections and spurious clutter measurements due to speech inactivity, reverberation and interference. Furthermore, many acoustic localization approaches estimate speaker direction, hence providing bearing-only measurements without range information. This paper presents a probability hypothesis density (PHD) tracker that augments the bearing-only speaker directions of arrival with a cloud of range hypotheses at speaker initiation and propagates the random variates through time. Furthermore, due to their formulation PHD filters explicitly model, and hence provide robustness against, clutter and missing detections. The approach is verified using experimental results.","PeriodicalId":216293,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Conference on Digital Signal Processing (DSP)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128781150","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Image tampering detection is a technology that detects tampered images by using intrinsic image regularities. However, existing intrinsic image regularities are designed for one specific type of tampering operations. When multiple types of tampering operations are used to process a digital image, image tampering detection accuracy is seriously degraded. This paper exploits the re-normalized histogram of noise and noise difference as a new type of intrinsic image regularities, which is computed as the ratio of the histogram to the peak-value. When the image is operated by image tampering, the re-normalized histogram would increase as the peak value of this histogram would decrease. By applying the re-normalized histogram as features, the experimental results show that the proposed method has the ability to detect a wide range of tamper operations, including single type and multiple types of tampering operations without the prior knowledge of tampering operation order, type and parameter.","PeriodicalId":216293,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Conference on Digital Signal Processing (DSP)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125422386","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The kernel width plays an important role in MCC adaptive filtering and has significant influence on convergence rate and steady-state performance.
