Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications was used during both seasons of study. Ten chemical weed control were applied; (1) pendimethalin 50% EC (2.023 kg ai ha-1) at 4 DAS as preemergence herbicide, (2) pendimethalin as per-emergence followed by (fb) penoxsulam 2.5% OD (0.0238 kg ai ha-1) at 15 DAS as post-emergence herbicide, (3) pendimethalin as per-emergence fb bispyribacsodium 2% SL (0.0381 kg ai ha-1) at 25 DAS, (4) pendimethalin as pre-emergence fb ready mix of cyhalofop-butyl 7% + quinclorac 10% OD (0.238+0.1667 Kg ai ha-1) at 20 DAS, (5) pendimethalin as pre-emergence fb fenoxaprop-ethyl 7.5% EW (0.0625 kg ai ha-1) at 40 DAS, (6) thiobencarb 50% EC (3.57 kg ai ha-1) at 4 DAS as pre-emergence herbicide fb bispyribac-sodium, (7) penoxsulam fb bispyribac-sodium, (8) penoxsulam at 15 DAS fb ready mix of cyhalofop-butyl 7% + quinclorac 10% OD at 25 DAS, (9) penoxsulam at 15 DAS fb fenoxaprop-ethyl and (10) tank mix of penoxsulam (0.0119 kg ai ha-1) + fenoxaprop-ethyl (0.0357 kg ai ha-1) at 35 DAS as compared to un-treated plots (weedy check) and weed free. The obtained results showed that, sequential application of pendimethalin 50% at 4 DAS pre-emergence herbicide followed by fenoxaprop-ethyl 7.5% at 40 DAS or ready mix of cyhalofop-butyl 7%+quinclorac 10% at 20 DAS recorded the lowest density and biomass of grasses and highest weed control efficiency, highest rice vegetative growth, grain yield and its attributes and reduced yield losses to 3.2 and 3.9%, respectively as compared to weed free during both studing seasons. Based on the obtained data, it could be concluded that sequential application of pre-emergence fb post-emergence herbicides was the best in grassy weed management and improved rice grain yield (87.1% and 9.203 t ha-1), while sequential application of early post-emergence fb late post-emergence herbicides ranked second (83.2% and 8.011 t ha-1) and exceeded single application of pre-emergence herbicide (40.3% and 4.317 t ha-1) and post-emergence herbicide tank mix (72.6% and 7.351 t ha-1) under dill-seeded rice conditions.","PeriodicalId":215483,"journal":{"name":"Menoufia Journal of Plant Production","volume":"85 5","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133356012","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Populus nigra , Paulownia hybrid T121 and Cedrela odorata irrigated under three irrigation rates 30, 45 and 60 % of the available soil moisture depletion (ASMD). The obtained results from the combined analysis of two seasons illustrate that the Populus nigra , Paulownia hybrid T121 and Cedrela odorata achieved the highest significant seedling height, stem diameter at 30% followed by 45% meanwhile 60% was the least. Also, Paulownia hybrid T121 recorded the highest significant of seedling height, stem diameter and biomass fresh weight followed by Populus nigra meanwhile Cedrela odorata was the last one at different (ASMD). On the other hand, Populus nigra significantly gave the longest root length and Cedrela odorata was the intermediate, whilst Paulownia hybrid T121 deduced the shortest one at 60 % (ASMD). Populus nigra significantly produced the highest values of dry biomass followed by Cedrela odorata meanwhile Paulownia hybrid T121 achieved lowest values at the different (ASMD). Moreover, Cedrela odorata significantly exhibited the highest values of carbohydrates while Paulownia hybrid T121 was the least and Populus nigra was in between in case of irrigating the seedlings at 45 and 60 % depilation. Paulownia hybrid T121 had taken more irrigation water applied and water consumption followed by Populus nigra while Cedrela odorata was the least at different (ASMD). As for that, Populus nigra seedlings recorded significantly highest water productivity and water use efficiency (WUE) followed by Cedrela odorata while Paulownia hybrid T121 recorded the least especially at 60 % depletion followed by 45 % and 30 % respectively. It is worthily to notice also that, at different (ASMD) declared one liter of water applied produced 1.34, 1.00 and 1.29 gm biomass dry weight for Populus nigra , Paulownia hybrid T121 and Cedrela odorata respectively. Therefore, it could be recommended from the herein results that, unadvisable a forestation Paulownia spp. under condition of Egypt in which it needs the greater amount of water used awing to less water productivity, less biomass dry weight causing reduce of WUE. So advises substitution anther types of object high economic recurrent such as Populus nigra or Cedrela odorata under or similar condition of this study.","PeriodicalId":215483,"journal":{"name":"Menoufia Journal of Plant Production","volume":"4 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128964245","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results showed that Mean performance for seed yield/fed ranged from 6.08ard/fed for genotype M575 to 4.7 ard/fed for line 59-3-5 in Ismailia location, while Shandawell location seed yield ranged from 7.86 ard/fed for LOCAL 219 to 6.17 ard/fed for Shandawell 3. Pooled analysis of variance revealed that the mean squares among the genotypes were highly significant for seed yield. Stability analysis indicated that, genotype x environment (GxE) “linear” was significant for seed yield, indicating that genotypes differed in their response to changes in the environments. G x E was also significant when tested against pooled deviation for seed yield/fad., suggesting that the linear regression and the deviation from linearity were important for describing stability for seed yield. Stability parameters analysis was assessed using regression coefficient (bi), mean squares of deviation from regression (S 2 d), Genetic superiority index (pi), determination coefficient values (R2) and coefficient of variability (C.V). The correlation coefficients of relations between the mean seed yield and different stability parameters, mean seed yield and Pi were highly significantly positive correlation (r = 0.92**). The genotypes Shandawel 3, Line53-3 and Line59-3-5 could be considered stable genotype in terms of most studied traits.","PeriodicalId":215483,"journal":{"name":"Menoufia Journal of Plant Production","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115740337","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The components of G x E interaction, phenotypic and genotypic stability parameters were estimated according Eberhart and Russel (1966) and Tai method (1971). The obtained results revealed that Pooled analysis of variance indicated, highly significant differences among genotypes, years, locations and sowing dates as well as all interactions between them for all characters, providing evidence for the necessity of testing studied genotypes in multiple environments. Phenotypic stability parameters indicated that genotypes (4 and 6) were classified as highly adapted to favorable environments for pod yield ard/fed. and oil percentage as well as line (Ismailia/2) for pod yield ard/fed. The most desired and stable lines showed genotypes (2,5 and 10) for pod yield ard/fed. under wide range variable environmental conditions; genotypes (2and 5) for shelling percentage and pod yield ard/fed. as well as genotypes (5 and 8) for 100-seed weight and oil percentage. Genotypic stability estimates showed that, the most average stable genotypes were, genotypes (2 and 10) for pod yield ard/fed., genotype (7) for 100-seed weight, genotypes (11 and 13) for shelling percentage as well as genotypes (9 and 12) for oil percentage. It is worthy to mention that, the phenotypic and genotypic of stability are quite similar for describing stability in peanut genotypes (2 and 10) for pod yield ard/fed. and genotype (13) for shelling percentage. It is therefore suggested that these genotypes may be recommended to be included in any breeding program for improving peanut pod yield stability under different environments.","PeriodicalId":215483,"journal":{"name":"Menoufia Journal of Plant Production","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126234109","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
