While conventional businesses have, in general, encountered difficult times during the COVID-19 pandemic, online businesses have tended to register success as a direct result of mobility constraints imposed on multinational or regional value-chains during this time. Social enterprises have continued to demonstrate their value as reservoirs of social and economic resilience during this unprecedented global crisis. Thought leaders like Muhammad Yunus see micro-economies, comprising locally focused social businesses linked digitally into distant value chains, as a viable strategy for economic growth in difficult times to achieve the SDGs. This chapter examines the potential of strategic business collaborations between social enterprises in Australia and South Asia that can leverage crowdfunding as a tool for mutual advantage and explores opportunities and challenges for Australian interests entering the financial services sector in South Asia.","PeriodicalId":215396,"journal":{"name":"Strategic Cooperation and Partnerships Between Australia and South Asia","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126027735","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Especially in the case of India, few initiatives were taken to improve quality of education. India adopted new education policy that opened the doors to strategic collaboration with international universities, as India has begun to concentrate on vocational education and training for the first time. This research examines the scope and restrictions of institutional partnerships between India, other SAARC nations, and Australian higher education institutions. This study is based on the analysis of data presented in the different case studies like Rajasthan Royals and Deakin Australian Universities, IIT Bombay and Monash Australian, Indian Academy of Science and Innovation Research (AcSIR) and RMIT Australian University.","PeriodicalId":215396,"journal":{"name":"Strategic Cooperation and Partnerships Between Australia and South Asia","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130170312","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Research has shown that the world's two biggest economies in the coming years will be in Asia, and they are China and India. Australia's strategic location and close geographic proximity to Asia and its engagement in economic, business, education, health, cultural, and technological cooperation have led to opportunities in digital strategic partnership for Australian-Asian enterprises. A case study approach is used to analyse the strategic investment opportunities in digital and telecommunication technologies with Australia and Asian trading partners to develop a digital strategy. Over many years, Australia has demonstrated leadership for exchange of strategic information, ideas, and closer participation with Asia, which has led to building a strong relationship in terms of government-to-government, people-to-people, and business-to-business, which can be transformed for innovative digital strategic partnership in the South Asian region.","PeriodicalId":215396,"journal":{"name":"Strategic Cooperation and Partnerships Between Australia and South Asia","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131606414","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of the circular economy is to take responsibility for the costs involved in recycling by going away from the linear economic model, which is briefly stated as 'take-recycle-dispose' with unused materials in at one end and externalised the wastes at the other. Recycling numerous unused structures is a persisting problem for Australia that can be resolved following this circular economy approach. To that end, an underlying aim of this chapter is to propose a bilateral agreement between Bangladesh and Australia that aims at recycling offshore structures of Australian companies in Bangladesh's ship recycling industry (hereinafter referred to as recycling industry). This chapter also sheds light on the challenges for Bangladesh in recycling the offshore structures in a sustainable way but disputes that those offshore structures will only increase the waste burden for Bangladesh.","PeriodicalId":215396,"journal":{"name":"Strategic Cooperation and Partnerships Between Australia and South Asia","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116896780","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An initial period of warmth followed by decades of coldness characterizes the relationship between Australia and India. This chapter makes a case for improving resource sector related bilateral relations between New Delhi and Canberra to aim for a sustainable future through strategic collaboration in climate change and the renewable energy sector. Trade and investment possibilities exist between the two countries, and over the years, the engagements between countries have been neglected. The worldwide focus on renewable energy adoption through technological innovation and collaboration is thriving. This research focuses on understanding if there has been a change in the relationship between the two since the pandemic. Through the analysis and observation of qualitative data, suggestions with the current scenario and the future scope of both countries, particularly in the resources and energy sector, have been discussed in this chapter.","PeriodicalId":215396,"journal":{"name":"Strategic Cooperation and Partnerships Between Australia and South Asia","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129438421","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It had a disastrous impact on the economies and the healthcare systems of South Asian countries. Australia was able to minimize the COVID-19 impact by imposing a strict lockdown. The healthcare system and the healthcare industry in Australia are advanced and provide high quality pharmaceutical products and healthcare services. Australia has a lot to offer to South Asian countries in public health programs, quality of healthcare, complementary medicine products, clinical data management and development, and drug developments. Healthcare systems in South Asian countries vary significantly. Australia can play a significant role in developing the healthcare systems of South Asia. For instance, Australia can provide the traditional medicine sectors in South Asian countries with scientifically effective complementary medicines. Improving healthcare bilateral investment and the trade relationship between South Asia countries and Australia is a win/win partnership for SAARC nations post pandemic.","PeriodicalId":215396,"journal":{"name":"Strategic Cooperation and Partnerships Between Australia and South Asia","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124119839","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Tourism being the star performing industry across the globe has faced unprecedented crash due to COVID-19. Post-COVID-19 market opening relies heavily on the fundamental option of partnerships between governments and private players. The tourism demand has triggered partnerships between government and private agencies across various countries that have convergence in areas of culture, politics, and economy. Australia and Pakistan are among the countries who do not have geographical proximity, but they enjoy congruence in agriculture-based economy and sports-based entertainment. Moreover, both countries have diverse tourism resources serving travelers in hedonistic, mountain, snow, spiritual, sports, and events. This chapter highlights the types of tourism marketing that could be facilitated in a post-COVID-19 environment between Australia and Pakistan and phases involved in the partnership essential for meeting United Nations SDGs.","PeriodicalId":215396,"journal":{"name":"Strategic Cooperation and Partnerships Between Australia and South Asia","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132120864","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research presents a study suggesting innovating marketing education post COVID-19 based on class interviews with examples from the world of politics. University students studying marketing were interviewed in this qualitative study by conducting in-class focus groups. Respondents were inquired about their opinion on using various teaching strategies with politics as a case to explain elements of the marketing mix. Recommendations to use class discussions, role-play, and cold-call engagement are contributions of this chapter, presenting learning by applying politics as a marketing challenge to explain the marketing theory. Politics as a marketing example can be used by academic and industrial marketing trainers and educators, leading towards a strategic opportunity for collaboration between Australian and Pakistani education planners and institutions for stablishing strong institutions for peace and justice.","PeriodicalId":215396,"journal":{"name":"Strategic Cooperation and Partnerships Between Australia and South Asia","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130269599","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With this view, the chapter aims to study the present state of bilateral trade relations between India-Australia, identify obstacles that hindered the growth of trade relations between India-Australia in the past, understand the impact of comprehensive economic cooperation for free trade agreement between the two countries. The chapter further discusses the challenges that COVID-19 has posed for trade between Australia and China as well as the future opportunities for bilateral trade between India and Australia. The 2020-21 Australia-India Joint Statement on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and Comprehensive Economic Cooperation agreement is a step forward in a positive direction in meeting many of the UN SDGs. This chapter is essential for understanding the complexities of “trade creation” between (India and Australia) and “trade diversion” between (China and Australia).","PeriodicalId":215396,"journal":{"name":"Strategic Cooperation and Partnerships Between Australia and South Asia","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115380298","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
