It shows that the cone angle of the conical beam can be arbitrarily controlled by just changing the initial phase excitation distribution on the array. Based on this mechanism, a passive reflective metasurface is designed to generate conical beam with certain cone angle. The metasurface element, designed based on the concept of geometric phase, is composed of two orthogonal I-shaped metallic structures etched on a back-grounded dielectric substrate. Under the normal illumination of left-circularly polarized incidence, left-circularly polarized conical wave can be obtained at 15.5 GHz with a cone angle of 13.6 degree. A double-layered SIW feeding network with wideband H-junction and wideband high-gain slot dielectric resonator antenna array is employed to achieve high gain and wideband performance simultaneously. The simulated impedance bandwidth of 15% and a gain up to 13.9 dB have been offered. The array elements are placed in the order of λ/2 at the middle frequency in two principal planes. The simple structure is very popular in phased array due to easy processing, and low cost. First, the aperture-fed travelling-wave element is designed. Stacked curl element is printed on the surface of the substrate to realize wideband axial ratio (AR) and impedance performance. Then, two antenna arrays using substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) and microstrip feeding networks are developed, respectively. Performance comparison between these two arrays are discussed. Finally, the wideband CP antenna array which is fed by the SIW network is fabricated and measured. The measured impedance bandwidth of the array is 35.4%, 3-dB AR bandwidth is 33.8%, and 3-dB gain bandwidth is 32.2% with a peak gain of 23.5 dBic. Finite element method simulation shows that improved double split-ring's mutual effect along with coupled resonance could help achieve wideband switchable properties. Practical wideband absorption and switchable performances are accomplished based on series switches and isolative bias network. The measurement results show that the absorption of switchable FSS in the OFF state is wide and strong with a satisfied reflection in the ON state. In this study, we used 28 GHz various fixed-beam patch arrays and plane waves to investigate the temperature elevation in a multilayer model of human heads and its correlation with incident power density in free space. The results show that the averaging area of a few square-centimeters may be a good candidate for the spatial-average power density. It is composed of a single-feed crossed dipole loaded with four parasitic patches. Due to the presence of parasitic patches, the antenna achieves a low profile and a broadband characteristic in terms of impedance matching and CP radiation bandwidth. A frequency selective polarization conversion is realized in 10.95GHz∼12.069GHz. Two magnetic resonances are generated, which lead to the cross-polarization reflection. The simulated results show that the maximum conversion efficiency is nearly 100% at the two resonant frequencies. In this paper, high permittivity ceramic material is used to design all-dielectric metasurface in microwave band. By choosing the appropriate positions of the two grounding-vias, high isolation between the two antennas can be achieved.
