To reformulate such queries, query expansion is a prominent method that leads to retrieve a set of relevant documents. In this paper, we propose an aspectbased query expansion technique for diversified document retrieval. At first, query suggestions and completions are retrieved from major commercial search engines. A frequent phrase-based soft clustering algorithm is then applied to group similar retrieved candidates into clusters. Each cluster represents different query aspect. The expansion terms are selected from the generated cluster labels for each cluster. To estimate the relevancy between the expanded query and the documents, multiple new lexical and semantic features are introduced using the content information, and word-embedding model, respectively. Finally, a linear ranking approach is employed to re-rank the documents retrieved for the original query using the extracted features. We conduct experiments on Clueweb09 document collection using TREC 2012 Web Track queries. The experimental results clearly demonstrate that our proposed aspect-based query expansion method is effective to diversify the retrieved documents and outperformed baseline and some known related methods in terms of diversity metrics ERR-IA, α-nDCG and NRBP at the cut of 20.","PeriodicalId":211757,"journal":{"name":"International journal of new computer architectures and their applications","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131954969","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This kind of amplifiers are used in various types of radars like weather warning radars, vehicle detection radars, frequency hopping radars and phased array radars. Different types of semiconductor devices are studied/ analyzed during solid state device selection phase; however both Gallium Nitride (GaN) and Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) devices are considered appropriate for this type of design. GaAs pseudomorphic induced high electron mobility transistor (pHEMT) has been used for our design. The amplifier has been optimized for low noise, moderate power output, small return loss (input & output) and low cost. The optimization has been carried out with Advance System Design software (ADS) by Agilent. Measured results at the design frequency show overall noise figure around 2.8 dB, a linear gain of 42 dB, input and output return loss over -12 dB with an associated power at 1dB gain compression point is in excess of 2930 dBm. Using mixed elements (discrete and distributed) design technique it has been confirmed that such amplifiers are easy to build and provide cost effective solution. EPON is a promising technology to implement the Fiber To The Home solution. Dynamic bandwidth allocation (DBA) is one of the critical issues in the design of the EPON system that has been studied by many researches. This paper introduces the fundamental concepts on EPONs, its protocol and its bandwidth allocation. We also compile and classify the research works in order to provide the state-of-art of the DBA algorithms. The advantages and disadvantages of each classification is provided. The classifications provide insightful presentations of the prior work on EPONs which will help the researches to choose the most suitable algorithm as according to the needs.","PeriodicalId":211757,"journal":{"name":"International journal of new computer architectures and their applications","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122590887","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Prototype Si-LEDs are fabricated in the standard CMOS technology, using the same processing procedures with other components. Since fully integrated silicon photon-receivers with Si-LED on the same chip will largely improve the overall system performance, monolithic integration leads to lower cost and smaller size. Some structural details and performances of several practical two and threeterminal Si-LEDs are presented. In this paper, we report on further progress that has been made with regard to modeling of the physical processes in realizing an increase in the optical emission power, as well with regard to higher frequency modulation capability of such device. The theory of silicon optical modulation based on p-n junction in reverse bias is primarily discussed. Initial investigations indicate that the Si-LEDs have a very fast inherent modulation bandwidth capability, and the upper limit derived value for the expected maximum modulation of the device could be in the range of a few hundred GHz. According to the best of our knowledge, despite the low efficiency, the Si-LEDs show potential for on-chip electro-optical communication.","PeriodicalId":211757,"journal":{"name":"International journal of new computer architectures and their applications","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125295102","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Choosing or modifying scheduling policy for running threads depends on predefined and specific objectives and criteria. In this paper, we investigate the effectiveness of thread weight readjustment scheduler (TWRS) for multithreaded processes in multitasking operating systems from the view point of throughput. TWRS is a proportional share CPU scheduler designed for scheduling multithreaded processes. In this work, we make change kernel performance significantly by modifying just few key parameters. We propose TWRS which preallocates certain amount of CPU time to each thread of the multi-threaded processes. The scheduler was implemented and evaluated under specific hardware and software environment. According to our evaluation results, our scheduler is promising to optimize some scheduling criteria.","PeriodicalId":211757,"journal":{"name":"International journal of new computer architectures and their applications","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116822340","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Huge amount of data is collected in agriculture and various techniques of data mining are used to make efficient use of it. In this paper, we have discussed how with the help of both, clustering and classification algorithms, the crop suitable for a particular piece of land can be determined. Management zone delineation is a key task in this. From a data-mining point of view this comes down to variant of spatial clustering which has a constraint of keeping the resulting clusters spatially mostly contiguous. We analyze the need to discretize and normalize the data set and the various techniques that are used for the same. Further, a comparative analysis of the algorithm is shown where it can be seen which algorithm is best suited. We also talk about the future scope of the same and how these could actually be implemented in the real life scenarios.","PeriodicalId":211757,"journal":{"name":"International journal of new computer architectures and their applications","volume":"94 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131260658","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
