However, a number of false practices of head teachers are often narrated by the school staffs which have hindered the creation of a motivating working environment. Hence, this paper aims at exploring what experiences the head teacher and teacher have assembled in the course of head teacher leadership practices as an instructional resource for the staff. The paper is based on narrative inquiry where a head teacher and the teacher from the same school were selected purposively as research participants for in-depth interview. From prolonged engagement with the participants, this study explored that head teacher leadership practice which was expected to act as an instructional resource for the staff was found counter-practiced though they narrated their awareness about the discourse. These pitfalls were narrated so considering the head teacher leadership’s major engagement in administrative tasks rather than in instruction pedagogy, instruction practice and CAS evaluation and implementation as inculcated by the three indicators of Step II of Effective Instructional Leadership. Moreover, failure of the head teacher to monitor and supervise the team’s performance was also recounted. Hence, the study implies the practices of head teacher leadership as an instructional resource for the staff as inevitable to help school prosper and strive towards excellence in teaching and learning setting.","PeriodicalId":209037,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Educational Technology","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121088996","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cheating itself is then examined using a four-part question from Martin Heidegger’s lecture What is Called Thinking? Aspects of this analysis include the historical conceptions of cheating and the environmental factors that lead to cheating. The authors determine that cheating is a response to the inauthenticity of schooling, as well as to the anxiety that accompanies modern conceptions of time. They conclude that learning is the existential call of responsibility for one’s being, and that a re-conception of education based on Heidegger’s conception of being and time would negate the incentives to cheat.","PeriodicalId":209037,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Educational Technology","volume":"64 5","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132442693","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research scrutinized the upshot of intelligence quotient on learners’ academic presentation. The study was an experimental research. Sample comprised of 150 secondary school students in Oyo state. To address the research questions data was analyzed using frequency count and a basic percentage, while inferential statistics such as t-test and PPMC were used to test the research hypothesis. This study established that the academic performance of secondary school pupils in English was found to be ordinary, with an average score of 56 percent. It was deduced that there was no significant difference in I.Q. between male and female academics in favor of female pupils. The study clinched that intelligence quotient influences the students’ academic performance irrespective of their gender. The study concluded that the students with high IQ often perform better than the those with low IQ. It was consequently endorsed that educational authorities and the school system should encourage students with high IQ, this could enhance students learning.","PeriodicalId":209037,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Educational Technology","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126276084","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The lockdown has also halted instructional activities in the four walls of classroom around the world. Hence, many educational institutions have resulted to embracing technology-enhanced learning (TEL) platform to sustain academic session and continue to engage in teaching-learning activities through WhatsApp, Google Classroom, Schoology and Zoom Video Conferencing tool. This study examined the awareness, access and reaction toward TEL. It is descriptive research of the survey methods and the instrument is a researcher-designed questionnaire validated by four lecturers in Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin. The questionnaire was pilot tested and the data collected was subjected to a reliability test of Cronbach Alpha which yielded 0.89. Five research questions and two hypotheses guided the conduct of this study. All research questions were answered through frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation while hypotheses raised were test using chi-square. The findings revealed that the undergraduate student of private universities possess a high rate of awareness and can access leaning content in TEL platforms which justify the positive reaction. Hence, it is recommended that TEL should be embraced to bridge the gap created by the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown across the world.","PeriodicalId":209037,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Educational Technology","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128643587","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The curriculum framework for Accountancy, Economics, Mathematics, Science, Geography, History and English were reviewed by the researchers. Except for science curriculum framework which states that science curriculum should be gender-sensitive in terms of materials used, language used and ensuring the equal participation of boys and girls in activities, other frameworks were all silent on gender. Textbook reviews were carried out by teachers (22 female and 54 male) teaching classes IX to XII in the form of clustered workshops using the Blumberg model of textbook analysis which was employed to analyse gender biases in Vietnamese primary school textbooks. The findings revealed a presence of imbalance of gender among the authors, reviewers, editors and designer as well as the presence of gender biases, gender stereotyping in the content, illustrations and student activity. It calls for curriculum developers and textbooks authors to integrate gender in the curriculum framework which will then guide the development of gender-sensitive textbooks.","PeriodicalId":209037,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Educational Technology","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134573984","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

And how it provides a theoretical framework of researching biomaterials as eggs in these technologies, which will facilitate new cultural patterns of analysis in IFV – Stem Cells – Cloning boundaries and policies. In an attempt to explore the crossing character of these biomaterials in the biotechnologies, it was analysed 2006 year since a new Assisted Reproduction Act was passed and the first Draft Bill of Biomedicine was launched in Spain. Selecting the texts from the two main national newspapers in Spain, were coded by a qualitative analysis program to set their dynamics through IVF, Stem Cells and Cloning news. Data management and analysis was done by a quantitative statistical program. Once texts were coded, linked and marked, the process of model specification was carried out. Through speech act theory and performativity, it was possible to study the discursive practices shown in these biotechnologies where identities are positional, unstable and contingent but supported by the requirement for negotiation. Therefore, this paper offers a new approach to include gender studies in media content analysis of embryo economies.","PeriodicalId":209037,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Educational Technology","volume":"87 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132987278","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, this paper aims to exploring the opportunities and challenges the school leaders, teachers, students and parents have been experiencing while creating student- friendly teaching learning atmosphere in TVET schools. In this study, we employed the narrative inquiry and the data were collected by in-depth interview from the participants. Through the collected narratives, it was discovered that, although student- friendly environment in teaching learning has been gaining significant popularity, creating such environment comes up with many challenges like: ambiguous role of facilitators, infrastructural constraints and attitudinal rigidity of individuals towards student- centered teaching learning. However, student-friendly teaching learning environment was recounted to have been constructive in stimulating confidence, creativity, criticality, social spirit and self-reliance among students.","PeriodicalId":209037,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Educational Technology","volume":"114 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116489125","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
