The satisfactory results of our previous research show that the use of mobile technology could enhance accessibility and communication in a blended learning course. In Algeria, the mobile penetration rate stands at over 111% and 21% with 3G. Since most of our students have access to mobile technology, three in five were smartphones. Using this technology would encourage students to use their phones to send questions to their teachers, listen to a podcast and snip the quick response QR codes. This paper introduces the implementations of QR codes, vcard and QR voice as a new tool in the Moodle platform in our institute. The QR code contains the URL of the page of one particular Moodle course and quiz are added to the bottom of Moodle. The students' satisfaction had been acknowledged as an important factor in order to estimate the effectiveness of a blended learning course.","PeriodicalId":208567,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Technol. However, in Bahrain the number of higher education students who are aware of and use social media is not clear. It was therefore necessary to conduct an empirical study that would investigate the students' use of social media in higher education in Bahrain. Moreover, the actual adoption of social media in everyday learning situations still remain underexplored, especially in higher education settings. This paper describes a study conducted to investigate the influence of social media use by student in Bahrain. The aims of this study are to assess students' level of familiarity, engagement and frequency of use with social media. The data was collected using two questionnaires. The findings indicate that social media has introduce a new culture of learning among students. In addition, social media applications which are on the increase in usage by students for activities that include studying, access of education content, social communication.","PeriodicalId":208567,"journal":{"name":"Int. The study identified factors necessary for contextualizing VLE to fit the student's perspective in developing countries. Literature was reviewed to identify the contextualizing factors, based on which a research model was designed and validated using data collected from students at different levels of learning at Tshwane University of Technology, South Africa. The study used quantitative approach and the data was analysed using statistical package called Statistical Package for Social Science SPSS. Results indicated that, compatibility, complexity, technological factors, organisational and environmental issues as well as mind-set are significant factors for VLEs contextualization. This study contributes theoretically by bridging the gap in literature and apposite model informing the development of VLEs in developing countries. Practically, the findings of this study will be leveraged by institutions of higher learning that want to implement VLEs within their settings.","PeriodicalId":208567,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Then this paper discussed discovering study of the researcher knowledge pertaining to both social network service for scientists, scholarly search engines and citation indices. The first axiom reflected the life cycle of the research paper and how each phase affects and influences the next phase. The second axiom showed the researcher worries and the different tasks that a scholar juggles: research financial support, institutional laws and regulations, time & money, legality and copy rights, language barrier, tech savvy, web metrics & university ranking. The third axiom was a discovering study that explored the weakness of the scholar pertaining to his/her knowledge about citation indices. Organisational intuitiveness, being fundamental to this responsiveness, requires that these organisations develop and manage their information processing and management infrastructure to enable an integrated and informed environment. Organisations generally have a deterministic approach to technological infrastructure development and do not give requisite attention to soft factors that shape its use. Information technologies, however, are strategic resources that require supportive human action through appropriate set of roles, responsibilities, and decision rights to works effectively, evolve in use, and enable value on continuous basis. This paper presents a case of an information technologies governance in a financial services organisation. It highlights that governance practices need to be institutionalised in the organisation, such that they become an integral part of the organisational, social, and technical environment of the business.","PeriodicalId":208567,"journal":{"name":"Int. Privacy preserving data mining aims to prevent the discovery of sensitive information. Information hiding systems provide excellent privacy and confidentiality, where securing confidential communications in public channels can be achieved using steganography. A cover media are exploited using steganography techniques where they hide the payload's existence within appropriate multimedia carriers. This paper aims to study steganography techniques in spatial and frequency domains, and then analyzes the performance of Discrete Cosine Transform DCT based steganography using the low frequency and the middle frequency to compare their performance using Peak Signal to Noise Ratio PSNR and Mean Square Error MSE. The experimental results show that middle frequency has the larger message capacity and best performance.","PeriodicalId":208567,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Technol. The intention to adopt and use the tool to promote their products and support information sharing, cooperation, and actual communication, the actual benefits and use derived as a stand-alone tool, and the socio-economic payoffs for their businesses. An analytical and quantitative approach is used throughout the study. A survey was distributed to 253 participants consisting of a standard questionnaire divided in to two main parts: the first part covered the demographic elements while the second part focused on two factors Performance Expectancy and Effort Expectancy of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology model UTAUT. The analysis reveals that: 1 Instagram can be an important means of creating valuable opportunities for productive families to achieve their missions and goals in promoting and advertising their products; 2 the two factors analyzed Performance expectancy and Effort expectancy directly influence the families' intention to use form which leads directly to the actual usage; 3 the families' age, gender and level of education have indirect effects on their intention to adopt and use the platform; 4 most of the families use Instagram to promote their businesses, specifically handcrafts and services and have doing so for over two year; 5 The main financially supporter is Tamkeen, which backs 53% of the surveyed families. The aim of this study is to investigate the use of social media in Saudi government agencies. It adopts a quantitative approach. The study shows that Saudi government agencies are aware of social media and they use them for different purposes. The study argued that government agencies with less engagement with the public are less likely to use social media. Government agencies tend to publish the same content in different social media. Moreover, information dissemination and improving communication with the public were the main motivations for using social media. In terms of enablers, the study shows that awareness of the public about the importance of social media usage was an important issue. Regarding the challenges, lack of dedicated resources such as budget and specialized staff were the main challenges. The study contributes to the literature by addressing issues related to motivation, factors influenced the decision to adopt social media, enablers and barriers.","PeriodicalId":208567,"journal":{"name":"Int. To achieve the desired goal, the researcher applied the system approach in designing the suggested career education curriculum, the developmental research methodology for developing the instructional materials and media, and the quasi-experimental design to measure the effectiveness the proposed curriculum on a sample of the third grade business secondary school students in Egypt. The suggested curriculum contains four main stages/phases: 1 career knowledge generation; 2 career knowledge organization; 3 career knowledge utilization; and 4 career knowledge distribution. These phases were integrated into one system to develop both career knowledge management skills and professional thinking among the target sample. The units of the curriculum were designed in an interactive way according to the principles of the blended-units approach that concentrates on knowledge and knowledge applications for achieving career requirements needed to joining 21st century business and administration jobs. A sample of 50 students enrolled in a business secondary school were selected randomly and divided equally into two groups: the experimental group n= 25 and the control group n= 25. The researcher developed two main instruments: 1 an achievement test; and 2 a professional thinking scale. The achievement test included two parts: 1 measuring the professional knowledge, and 2 performance measuring of the skills of designing professional portfolio. In addition, a rubric was used to evaluate the production of the professional portfolio. The findings revealed that the suggested curriculum was effective in developing both career knowledge management domains and professional thinking skills; as there were significant statistical differences between the two groups in favor of the experimental group. A set of educational recommendations were suggested.","PeriodicalId":208567,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Technol.
