This standard is described in the form of informal specification. The informal specification is not suitable for applying formal methods to the whole of the software development because the ambiguity of the specification causes many problems in the development. Hence, we are formalizing the specification of OSEK/VDX using a formal specification language. Because this specification has been standardized, we do not change it but faithfully formalize it. This paper shows our approach to faithfully formalize this specification. On the one hand, it aims at bi-directional traceability between the informal specification and the formal specification. On the other hand, it aims at feasibility of checking the meaning of the formal definition with the meaning of the informal description. Therefore, this approach supports validating the formal specification against the informal specification. Consequently, it improves the confidence of the equivalence between the informal specification and the formal specification.","PeriodicalId":208300,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd Symposium on Information and Communication Technology","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131045422","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this paper is designing an Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) system, which will be applied for one-stop and non-stop ETC in Vietnam. Our ALPR system consists of two major parts: the first part is hardware system and the second part is software system. In the first part, the price, types of equipments and technology will be considered for designing, which satisfied for Vietnam environment, Vietnam regulation in the road pricing rules and Vietnam standard of ETC. In the second part, we will combined image processing technology and artificial neural network to proposed a improved software system, our software include four modules: image capture, license plate location, characters segmentation and characters recognition. Our ALPR software will be tested by 700 Vietnam vehicle images, which obtained from actual system and complex background: lightening conditions (night & day), license angles, illumination, size and type, colors and reflected light. Our ALPR software is more effective than some of the existing methods earlier, the efficiency of computing time & accuracy is improved and very satisfied for all types of Vietnam LP and Vietnam environment.","PeriodicalId":208300,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd Symposium on Information and Communication Technology","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127048450","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However these printed materials only provide readers with static information. Readers may want to know more detail information about some product in an article or to watch video clips related to an event mentioned in a news right at the moment when they read that article or news. The authors propose a system with mobile devices that can provide extra information and multimedia for readers by applying augmented reality to traditional magazines. A user can enjoy extra rich multimedia information on a product or news on his/her mobile device just by looking at an article in a traditional magazine through his/her mobile device. The system detects which article in which page of a magazine that is being displayed in a mobile device and provides a reader with related information and multimedia objects. The important feature of our proposed system is using lightweight filter to efficiently filter out candidate covers or articles that do not visually match an image captured by a mobile device. The experiment shows that our proposed system achieves the average accuracy of more than 90% and can process in the real-time manner.","PeriodicalId":208300,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd Symposium on Information and Communication Technology","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115570638","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Possible applications of WSN are of interest to the most diverse fields: environmental monitoring, warfare, child education, surveillance, micro-surgery and agriculture are only few examples. Due to limited power of sensor nodes that are distributed in a large geographical area, the WSN requires robust but simple, scalable, energy-efficient and also self-configurable routing algorithms. From these characteristics, WSN routing protocol can coarsely be classified in two main classes: flat and hierarchical approaches. Hierarchical solution (also called cluster-based) separates nodes in clusters and the communication within clusters is possible only through the selected leaders or Cluster Head-CH. In the reality, it is not always necessary to divide all the network to clusters because one event can only appear in a small part. In this case, routing protocol needs to form only one cluster with one CH for minimizing the amount of data sending to the base station (BS). Some such routing approaches (called cluster-based and event-based) are proposed as ARPEES [1], OEDSR [2], HPEQ[3]... but they all create only one optimal route from CH to the BS and this route can be broken when the sensor node's power is negligible. In this paper, we propose two multipath solutions called Multiparth ARPEES (MARPEES) and Energy Aware Mesh Routing Protocol (EMRP) for ensuring reliable and fault-tolerance data transmission while balancing node's energy consumption in the network and minimizing the control overhead. The simulation results show that our solutions achieve better performance than other cluster-based and event-based routing protocols.","PeriodicalId":208300,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd Symposium on Information and Communication Technology","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127875515","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The key idea of the proposed method is to extend distributed transition systems and linear temporal logic over Foata configurations with time. We show that systems are easily specified and verified with this method. The system behaviors are specified by a distributed duration transition system and the system properties are specified by a formula of our proposed timed logic over timed traces. We give an algorithm for solving the verification problem automatically. Vietnamese is an accented writing language. Accented characters increase the number of classes to be recognized, which causes declining in the performance of powerful classifier such as SVM. To overcome this challenge, an accented character is segmented into two parts: the root character or letter and the accent. They are recognized separately, and then combined to build the accented character. This approach avoids increasing the number of classes to be considered. Therefore, the correct recognition rate can be improved and the response time can be reduced. The data investigated in this work is on-line produced by a tablet. The combination of on-line and off-line features is used. The experimental investigations show that the handwritten character recognition built on 45 selected features can compete with the recognition rate and response time of other well known tested on standard databases such as UNIPEN and IRONOFF.","PeriodicalId":208300,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd Symposium on Information and Communication Technology","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128396736","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore powerful search engines need to be implemented that allow users to easily retrieve documents fulfilling their information needs. While there has been a lot of research in the domain of text search, special characteristics of lecture recording documents have not yet gotten much attention. Lecture recording documents differ from text documents such as papers, scripts or web pages because they usually do not contain running texts but rather listings and enumerations. Additionally, lecture recording documents contain time-based data such as an audio or video stream of the lecturer as well as handwritten annotations. Analyzing these additional data streams leads to an improvement of the search process. Our novel approach to analyze annotations of lecture recording documents improves document relevance estimation during the search in lecture materials. Hence, technology had been developed to make the contents and special properties of lecture recordings accessible and searchable. We describe key issues encountered during these developments and present experimental results of our search engine which takes into account the special characteristics of lecture recording documents during the indexing process. Searching our archive of over 15,000 files only takes a few milliseconds and enables us to offer a search-as-you-type user interface, query auto-completion and visual browsing.","PeriodicalId":208300,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd Symposium on Information and Communication Technology","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126333779","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
