As wireless data traffic worldwide is characterized by exponential growth, with the most prominent part being multimedia services, consumers get in the challenging position to compete for the limited wireless network resources. Cloud technologies and especially Software-Defined Networking is the perfect candidate technology in order to provide an elastic, dynamic provisioning of network resources that adapt to a highly changing environment, where application requirements and data volumes vary over time. This work combines the selection of the optimum path in the core network with quality-aware media adaptation based on the current conditions of the wireless access network. Thus the proposed framework achieves efficient network resources utilization in an end-to-end fashion.","PeriodicalId":208224,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Telecommunications and Multimedia (TEMU)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124952522","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A special type of such emissions is the rotating pulsed signals, such as civil aviation approach Radars, often situated close to residential areas. This paper describes a dedicated remote control software developed in order to automate the measurement procedures together with the evaluation of the relevant electromagnetic radiation. The great benefit of this software is that random errors caused by the personnel employed in the measurement procedure are avoided. The remote communication with the measurement system consists of a traditional spectrum analyzer (SA) and a rotating dipole antenna, whereas the post processing of the measurement data is done using two Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) developed in MATLAB. The setup of the SA is performed using Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments and Virtual Instrument Software Architecture.","PeriodicalId":208224,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Telecommunications and Multimedia (TEMU)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128996733","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The high bandwidth required could be somewhat alleviated through high efficiency video coding, but this does not guarantee that quality of service (QoS) thresholds are met. To help with the varying network conditions of cellular environments, adaptive bitrate (ABR) solutions in an Over-The-Top (OTT) fashion provide a possible solution. This paper focuses on the medium access control (MAC) scheduler for transmission of MVV content over an LTE network. MPEG-DASH's features are considered as the basis of the ABR solution. Simulation results show reduced packet losses and increased numbers in concurrent users, compared to a non-ABR solution. Moreover, to improve the video quality, each main view was prioritized through the Evolved Packet System (EPS) bearer to better protect this content and its decodability.","PeriodicalId":208224,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Telecommunications and Multimedia (TEMU)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127755007","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The new algorithm is based on the equivalent transmission-line (T-L) technique. From Maxwell's equations, we derive an equivalent T-L circuit for a cylindrical dielectric waveguide. Based on the TL-circuit model we derive exact analytic formulas for a recursive algorithm which allows direct calculation of mode delay and dispersion. We demonstrate this technique by calculating the fundamental mode dispersion for step, triangular and W optical fiber refractive index profiles. The accuracy of the numerical results is also examined. The proposed algorithm computes dispersion directly from the propagation constant without the need for curve fitting and subsequent successive numerical differentiation. In the end, we “design” for first time a triangular refractive index profile fiber with flat complex refractive index which performs extremely low rms-value of dispersion, under 0.08 ps/(km nm), over the wavelength range [1.3 μm, 1.55 μm].","PeriodicalId":208224,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Telecommunications and Multimedia (TEMU)","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123216393","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The improvement of those metrics leads to an improvement in the total throughput of the network. This approach results in a network that contains an intelligent dynamic supervisory corrector controller, which is capable of detecting the location of a congestion that may take place before or at the brink of its occurrence and dealing with selected flows on selected routers across the network in a way that prevents the congestion by using a smart heuristic congestion avoidance and routing algorithm thereby reducing the generation of control messages as much as possible.","PeriodicalId":208224,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Telecommunications and Multimedia (TEMU)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116864885","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The primary goal of this study is to understand if (i) different content types result in different perceptions of brand benefits and (ii) if these distinct types of perceived benefits differentially affect the engagement intention, loyalty, and purchase intention toward the brand. Our findings suggest that distinct content types indeed lead to diverse perceptions of benefits - informational, social, or hedonic - and further highlight that only social and hedonic benefits are significantly associated with self-reported brand loyalty as well as engagement and purchase intention. Implications for research and practice.","PeriodicalId":208224,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Telecommunications and Multimedia (TEMU)","volume":"121 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116618364","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Even though reusing water and environmental resources has been a hot matter during the last years, there have been few cases where relative and innovative technologies have been applied. More specifically, the system can manage water flows coming from any source in the complex of building and redirect them to tanks or consumption points. The system may thus maximize water recycling and minimize costs for water and also offer recycling automation and policies for individual parts of residential complexes.","PeriodicalId":208224,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Telecommunications and Multimedia (TEMU)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113942352","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Internet Service Providers (ISP) have a hard time competing on value-added services with content providers and content delivery networks (CDN). We propose a new model of collaboration between content delivery actors where CDNs can deploy their software in Internet Service Providers' infrastructures as NFV modules. As the ISP network state has to be kept private, a high-level SLA is used to negotiate both computing resources and connectivity, leaving it up to the ISP to optimize server placement and routes. The contribution of this paper is to formalize this problem as a Service Function Chaining Embedding problem, and to propose an algorithm to optimize the Service Function Chain to improve embedding probability and decrease consumed bandwidth in the process.","PeriodicalId":208224,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Telecommunications and Multimedia (TEMU)","volume":"179 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124479525","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
