Design/methodology – Mixed-methods approaches were used to collect data for this study. A quantitative survey utilising the novel Kano model and qualitative analysis using semi-structured interviews with middle and senior managers were employed as part of a case study. Findings – Critical success factors are identified, analysed and prioritised based on the opinions of members of the organisation studied. The conclusions of this study show that factors such as people, culture, and leadership are critical to agile transformation. The most important components, in particular, are team empowerment, team flexibility, competency development, and creating and communicating a vision. Research limitations/implications – This research focuses on a single-site case study capturing context-specific data from an organisation that recently embarked on an agile transformation. Originality/value – This study bridges the gap between academia and practice by providing valuable insights to guide leaders in their journey to agile transformation. The findings provide new knowledge to leaders and academics concerning the most critical factors for a successful transformation.","PeriodicalId":207899,"journal":{"name":"Total Quality Management & Business Excellence","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128038271","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A multinational data set collected from 289 manufacturing companies was used to examine the proposed hypotheses empirically. The results demonstrate that top management environmental support promotes environmental performance directly but also indirectly through supplier environmental management. Besides, the results show that supplier adaptability strengthens the indirect effect of top management environmental support on environmental performance via supplier environmental management. By combining external supplier factors with internal top-management environmental support, this research contributes to a better understanding of how to promote environmental performance more effectively.","PeriodicalId":207899,"journal":{"name":"Total Quality Management & Business Excellence","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128378970","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper aims to identify the recent status of the field, gaps in research and the future direction of journal articles by providing a knowledge structure. This study collected over one thousand and nine hundred published articles between 1995 and 2022. The analysis of this study sheds light on the areas that have been growing fast during the past few years and the areas that have been slowly developing over the past decades. Furthermore, the findings shed light on identifying the most relevant journals, active authors, and productive countries in the selected fields. This research provides opportunities for both scholars and practitioners to learn about the trending topics related to TQM and LSS practices on the SCM field based on recent studies and highlights the research gaps for future studies.","PeriodicalId":207899,"journal":{"name":"Total Quality Management & Business Excellence","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122037006","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In such a turbulent scenario, companies, and especially small and medium-sized enterprise, must dynamically respond to this environment by undertaking a strategic transformation which involves changes in the organisation structure through the right digital interface and mechanisms to creating qualitative customer relationships and capturing value. Business success over time is built on leadership, people-based management, continuous improvements, management based on facts and constant customer focus. The evolutionary path of a firm's business model driven by digitalisation describes its maturity. This paper aims at assessing the relationship between digital business model maturity and the sustainability of business performance over time. The results of an online survey involving the executives of 162 small and medium-sized enterprise operating in the tourism sector of five different continents have been analysed to test this relationship. Through a Structural Equations Modelling approach, the study found statistical evidence of the positive effect of digital business model maturity on sustainable business success. In this manner, this study contributes to academic literature by linking the concepts of digital transformation, digital business model maturity and sustainable business excellence.","PeriodicalId":207899,"journal":{"name":"Total Quality Management & Business Excellence","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129383549","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This prevents SMEs from implementing sustainable human resource management practices and from attaining a Total Quality Management approach which is consistent with the Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance criteria. Such considerations are especially true in the post-Covid-19 era where digitalization serves the purpose of ensuring business continuity, avoiding disruptions triggered by social distancing. The article provides empirical evidence of digitalization's implications on psycho-social risks at work perceived by people employed in SMEs, examining the moderating role of, organizational safety and health measures. Two sub-samples of companies operating in the manufacturing sector and in the service industries were involved in the study, which relied on secondary data. The research findings highlighted that digitalization has side effects on psycho-social risks at work. Organizational safety and health measures have a moderating role on psycho-social risks at work;however, it is weak in highly digitalized contexts and it is not significant across manufacturing companies. Tailored organizational safety and health measures should be developed to curb the drawback of digitalization on psycho-social risks at work.","PeriodicalId":207899,"journal":{"name":"Total Quality Management & Business Excellence","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116213039","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
