First state reconstruction techniques transform the DC motor model into a cascaded structure adapt to the normal backstepping method, then nonlinear adaptive backstepping controller designed can compensate the nonlinearities which is robust to the parameter uncertainties and load torque disturbance. For a certain desired drug release profile, it is necessary to optimize the structure of the polymer device. In this study, a new mathematical model for a biodegradable controlled drug delivery system is presented by using Cellular Automata (CA). Furthermore, the simulations of the biodegradable controlled-release system with an array of micro chambers with different structures are carried out. By a structural optimization (optimal non-uniform distribution and dimension), a desired drug release profile is achieved. In conclusion, the study introduced here is important for the structural optimization design of the biodegradable controlled-release system with large array of micro chambers.","PeriodicalId":206575,"journal":{"name":"2009 IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Intelligent Systems","volume":"124 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128133214","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By dragging one or a few control points on a new input sketch face, the system can draw corresponding natural expressions automatically. However, for an unseen target, with just a few knowledge of its neutral face, users' arbitrary input will often lead to unnatural even unreasonable results. In the proposed method, two kinds of priors are learnt from a set of different facial examples first-facial shape prior and correlated motion prior, which guarantee the global facial structures and the specific correlated motion regulations of the face respectively. Then, we present an integrated statistic face model to combine these two priors with user-input local constraints. The experimental results showed that our method could generate natural expression results to satisfy the user's requirements. Our interactive system is also easy and simple to operate even for the first-time user.","PeriodicalId":206575,"journal":{"name":"2009 IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Intelligent Systems","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121773154","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In fuzzy classifier systems the classification is obtained by a number of fuzzy If-Then rules including linguistic terms such as Low and High that fuzzify each feature. First, we project the original data set into a fuzzy space, then we select the feature subset based on the consistency measures. The proposed method which is an integration of fuzzy feature subset selection and consistency measures can select relevant features to get higher average classification accuracy rates than each of the above mentioned methods. The applicability of the proposed method has been demonstrated by reducing the number of features used for the classification of nine real-world data sets.","PeriodicalId":206575,"journal":{"name":"2009 IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Intelligent Systems","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131996665","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper we formulate image annotation as a supervised multi-class labeling problem. The relationship between low-level visual features and semantic concepts is found by supervised Bayesian learning. Color and texture features form two separate vectors, for which two independent Gaussian mixture models (GMM) are estimated from the training set as class densities using the EM algorithm combined with a denoising technique. Two posterior probabilities are calculated, and both their ranks among different concepts are used to determine the labels for the image to be annotated. The emphasis on different low-level features is balanced. Better annotation performance is obtained compared to method that treats color and texture as one feature vector.","PeriodicalId":206575,"journal":{"name":"2009 IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Intelligent Systems","volume":"110 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131483715","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to enlarge sampling periods while keep the system stable, a plant model was proposed, which had a similar structure to the actual plant. The state feedback control signal was generated based on the model state that approximated the plant dynamic state. Utilizing probability asymptotic stability theory, a new stability criterion was proposed. The proposed criterion gave a tolerance bound for long sampling periods. Since the occurrence frequency of sampling periods was taken into consideration, the proposed criterion gave a more general result than the existing ones. Numerical example and simulation results indicated that the method of model estimation was effective and the new stability criterion was less conservative.","PeriodicalId":206575,"journal":{"name":"2009 IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Intelligent Systems","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131755393","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
