In this paper the method for self commissioning of inverter fed induction motor drive is presented. The method is based on three frequency-domain tests, performed at standstill, avoiding then the locked-rotor and no-load tests. The proposed algorithm can be implemented in standard motor drives in order to automatically perform self-commissioning.","PeriodicalId":206392,"journal":{"name":"2011 Nirma University International Conference on Engineering","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134115505","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The algorithms for generation of height information from the stereo imagery in the form of Digital Elevation Model (DEM) primarily involve computationally complex image matching procedures. In this paper, we propose a Graphic Processing Units (GPU) based method that significantly improves the computational performance of the hierarchical image matching technique used for DEM generation. We have compared our results against single and multithreaded CPU based implementations. Experiments performed on Chandrayaan-1 Terrain Mapping Camera stereo image datasets using the Nvidia Tesla M2070 GPU show that the new method can perform as fast as 138 times compared to single threaded implementation and 5 times compared to a multithreaded implementation running on a multi CPU system.","PeriodicalId":206392,"journal":{"name":"2011 Nirma University International Conference on Engineering","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128350409","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

From a large pool of diverse available techniques for switching activity reduction during the external testing, only those schemes like ‘don't care bit filling’ and ‘reordering’ which do not require any modification in internal structure and do not demand use of any test development tool is used for SoC containing IP cores with hidden structure. The sequence of test vectors plays a significant role in capture power. The change in state of flipflop during capture depends upon the states of that flipflop in current scan-out vector and next scan-in vector. In this paper, the Artificial Intelligence Based Scan Vector Reordering (ASVR) is proposed to optimize the capture power reduction. This method uses very popular A∗ algorithm to reorder the test vectors to minimize the switching activity during capture operation.","PeriodicalId":206392,"journal":{"name":"2011 Nirma University International Conference on Engineering","volume":"7 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116739980","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A systematic analysis and algorithm based off-line precalculation of switching angle for a range of modulation index using resultant theory is presented. The polynomial reduction is supported by Mathematica 6 and the accurate computation of switching instants is done by developing a tool in Visual C++ with an user friendly interface. The software tool objective is of twofold. The first one is to reduce the lower order dominant harmonics and second one is to minimize the total harmonic distortion (THD). The program developed is first of its kind, and can be successfully applied to n-level MLI. The efficient algorithm calculates all the possible triplent roots in a single step for a given input. Representative discussion and results are presented for a seven level cascaded inverter to eliminate the third, fifth and seventh harmonics. The triumph of the algorithm is validated by using Matlab/Simulink toolbox.","PeriodicalId":206392,"journal":{"name":"2011 Nirma University International Conference on Engineering","volume":"2019 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134130962","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
