The proposed algorithm performs an adaptive, nonlinear, and recursive filtering. The results show that a deterministic or a stochastic signal corrupted by an additive noise of general nature is recovered using the new nonlinear filter. The new filter is able to remove a correlated noise, or a signal-dependent noise from the desired signal. This filter is also capable of recovering desired signals even in low signal-to-noise ratios and it is versatile enough to combat heavy tail Cauchy noise. We also provide the pertinent probability density function for the output of the main part of the new filter.","PeriodicalId":205662,"journal":{"name":"EUROCON'2001. We address the problem of learning automata theory which is the starting point for understanding a number of natural and technical sciences. Mathematical abstractions used for defining and describing entities of automata theory and their interaction can present an uncrossable obstacle in the process of learning this basic knowledge. We have created a new teaching tool, \"Automata Simulator\", which is meant to help students in faster and better comprehension of the basics of automata theory that pose the greatest problem in understanding state machines in general. The student is given the freedom to design an arbitrary state machine by using an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) and operate it by interactively controlling the tool. We explore the practical issues associated with space-time processing based on a singular-value decomposition (SVD) of the channel matrix. Compared to space-time block codes that do not require channel knowledge at the transmitter, the proposed method without channel coding requires 8.3 dB less SNR per antenna to achieve 6 bits/sec/Hz with 4 transmit and 4 receive antennas. Exploiting the properties of the SVD, we propose fixed bit and power allocations that avoid dynamic allocations. We also describe how reciprocity in a time-division duplex system may be exploited to simplify implementation of the SVD processing.","PeriodicalId":205662,"journal":{"name":"EUROCON'2001. The proposed threshold LUM smoothers are distinguished by a best balance between impulse noise suppression and signal-detail preservation, since the smoothing level is adaptively chosen depending on local neighborhood information. In color image filtering, threshold LUM smoothers produce an output with minimal color distortion. Another property of threshold LUM smoothers that must be mentioned is their convergence to qualitative root signals that present a very low deviation from the original. Thus, a filtering process performed by threshold LUM smoothers approaches an optimal situation, where the noise free samples are passed to the output without change whereas corrupted samples are estimated as the most appropriate value from a set of possible outputs of standard LUM smoothers.","PeriodicalId":205662,"journal":{"name":"EUROCON'2001. Standard COBIT (control objectives for information technology) has been used for this purpose and the result has been presented in the form of an IS (information system) audit checklist. The voice response, obtained from the proxy server, is played back using the existing device's loudspeakers. The benefits of using a framework are: independent design and content management, cross referencing of objects, structure inheritance, multilingual support, independence from the database management system, integration of different Web services and automatic support for multimedia information. The main benefit is shorter time for development of distributed services. Current implementation of the framework is based on RDB (relational database). The framework has been used to develop a city information system for the town of Maribor. The information is collected from organisations, companies, users of the information system, and other Internet and database servers. The information is currently used for presentation on the Internet, on infoterminals, on cable TV, and on teletext. Optimal FIR transmit filterbank precoders and nonlinear decision feedback receivers are derived for block-based transmissions over frequency-selective AWGN channels. The joint optimization of precoders and equalizers is based on the maximum mutual information criteria subject to fixed transmission power constraint. By adding one FIR feedback filter after the filterbank linear equalizers, we get a new result from which the precoder can also be interpreted as converting the frequency fading channel into a set of independent flat fading subchannels, and there is a direct path in each subchannel because of the feedback filter, thus the SNR of each subchannel and the maximum information rate are increased and the system has better overall BER performance while maintaining all the advantages of that in Scaglione et al., (1999).
