Methods: A total of 48 diabetic nephropathy patients with medial tibial stress syndrome from January 2020 to December 2022 were included as the study group, and 48 patients with diabetic nephropathy during the same period were included as the control group. Both groups were detected by two-dimensional shear wave elastography with ultrasonic equipment, and Young‘s modulus of the tibialis anterior muscle, tibialis posterior muscle, and gastrocnemius muscle were observed and analyzed in the two groups. Results: The Young‘s modulus values of tibialis anterior muscle, tibialis posterior muscle, and gastrocnemius muscle in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Two-dimensional shear wave elastography is feasible for the evaluation of calf skeletal muscle stiffness in diabetic nephropathy patients with medial tibial stress syndrome, and has high accuracy and repeatability. This technique can be used to diagnose, treat and monitor muscle lesions in patients with diabetic nephropathy, and can also be used to assess muscle fatigue and exercise capacity, which has broad application prospects.","PeriodicalId":20511,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of Anticancer Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135864750","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A 73-year-old male experienced intermittent gross hematuria for 5 months, accompanied by lower back and abdominal pain. Ultrasound and computed tomography scans revealed bilateral renal and ureteral duplication with multiple tumors in the left renal pelvis. A total nephroterectomy and bladder cuff resection were performed on the left two nephrons. Multiple space-occupying lesions were identified in the left renal pelvis and ureter. Histopathological examination showed poorly differentiated and diverse tumor cells, manifesting as sarcomatoid carcinoma, papillary adenocarcinoma, and infiltrating high-grade urothelial carcinoma. The tumor infiltrated the subcutaneous fibrous connective tissue of the renal pelvis and the full thickness of the ureter. Given the rarity of recurrent renal urothelial carcinoma with heterogeneous differentiation, comprehensive imaging and pathological assessments are vital to delineate the nature of the lesion and the direction of tissue pathological heterologous differentiation. These evaluations guide early radical surgical interventions, improving survival rates.","PeriodicalId":20511,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of Anticancer Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135864309","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods: A total of 45 patients with left breast cancer treated in our hospital after breast-conserving surgery were selected, and the selection time was set from January 2020 to August 2022. All patients received radiotherapy. The right breast, heart, and lung volumes, and dose parameters of the heart, lungs, right breast, and left anterior descending coronary artery were compared under free breathing (FB) and deep inspiration breath hold (DIBH) technical modes. Results: The heart volume of the DIBH group was smaller than that of the FB group, and the left and right lung volumes were significantly larger than those of the FB group. In the DIBH group, the heart dose parameters V5, proper lung dose parameters, and left anterior descending coronary artery dose parameters were found lower than that of the FB group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Compared with FB, the DIBH technique can reduce the heart’s size and increase the lung volume when used for radiotherapy after breast-conserving surgery for left breast cancer. It also reduces the dose to the heart, right lung, and left anterior descending coronary artery, thus protecting the heart and lungs.","PeriodicalId":20511,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of Anticancer Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135865897","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods: 120 cases of elective craniotomy were divided into the self-control group (continuous non-invasive blood pressure monitoring and intermittent cuff non-invasive blood pressure monitoring, CNAP group) and propensity score matching group (only intermittent cuff non-invasive blood pressure measurement in previous craniotomy, PSM group); Goal-directed hemodynamic management in CNAP group included heart rate (HR), blood pressure (BP), stroke volume (SV), stroke variability (SVV), and systemic vascular resistance index (SVRI). The main index is to compare the troponin level within 72 hours after operation between the CNAP group and the PSM group; The secondary indicators are the comparison of the hemodynamic conditions between the CNAP group and the PSM at 10 specific time points. Results: The incidence of postoperative myocardial injury in the CNAP group was significantly lower than that in the PSM group (12% vs. 30%, P = 0.01); in the CNAP group hypotensive episodes (6 vs. 3, P = 0.01), positive balance of fluid therapy (700 vs. 500 mL, P < 0.001), more use of vasoactive drugs (29 vs. 18, P = 0.04), more stable hemodynamics medical status (P = 0.03) were recorded. Conclusion: The hemodynamic management strategy based on continuous non-invasive blood pressure monitoring can reduce the incidence of myocardial injury after elective craniotomy and maintain a more stable hemodynamic state.","PeriodicalId":20511,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of Anticancer Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135865899","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
