The objective is to examine the performance of the parameters such as voltage, power, all day efficiency, cost; through different settings of solar tracker. The proposed work has been established on hardware and analyzed using software mode. The hardware has been set up using two servo motors, along with a light dependent resistor (LDRs), which senses the solar rays. Further the motions of the motors are performed by moving the solar panel towards point or location corresponding to the source of maximum light. The control portion was developed by using C programming as a software mode of operation. The control mechanism was targeted to the Arduino UNO for functioning of the hardware system. The result showed that the solar tracking system produces maximum all day power corresponding to dual axis tracker. It resulted in 25% more than that of a single axis tracker and 51% more than that of a fixed tilt angle. Moreover, a Therefore, a solar tracker can effectively capture the maximum sunlight source and can be used for any small applications in order to achieve more electrical power","PeriodicalId":202287,"journal":{"name":"2021 Innovations in Energy Management and Renewable Resources(52042)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114349241","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the concept of net and gross metering, the consumers now have the options to be the producers, by selling the extra back to supplying companies. This method along with the existing method of storing extra in the battery for later use has revolutionized the solar industry. In this paper we have tried to compare the benefits associated with both the methods and also estimated the solar panel output using linear regression and available data.","PeriodicalId":202287,"journal":{"name":"2021 Innovations in Energy Management and Renewable Resources(52042)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126372517","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By using the finite-time control technique and homogeneous systems theory, a fixed-time controller is first developed for a battery energy storage system (BESS). An integral consensus control is applied to the energy storage systems to synchronize the energy and power levels of batteries with the exchange of information between them. Both energy and power information of the storage systems will be fed into each other. The control architecture is based on the multi agent framework and takes into consideration that all batteries should work in the same charging or discharging mode. As such operations improve the state of health of the batteries. Compared with the consensus control in the existing literature for voltage consensus or battery power consensus, this paper offers a fixed time consensus which improves the convergence time and also ensures the robustness in the system. The major assumption of the paper is that each converter should possess an integral control. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the fixed time integral consensus for variety modes of operation: charging, discharging, and load variation.","PeriodicalId":202287,"journal":{"name":"2021 Innovations in Energy Management and Renewable Resources(52042)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134575656","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The presence of distributed generation, both renewable and non-renewable resources, has been considered in the problem formulation. Uncertainties related to PHEV load, electrical load, renewable generation, and grid power price have been modeled using “Hong’s 2m point estimate method”. The dispatchable units and the battery energy storage system are optimally scheduled to minimize the cost of operation. The network loss is allocated to different nodes using an exact loss allocation approach. Impacts of three charger types, namely-level 1, level 2, and level 3 on the system operating cost, loss, and loss allocation are investigated. Simulation results for a thirty-three node system are also presented.","PeriodicalId":202287,"journal":{"name":"2021 Innovations in Energy Management and Renewable Resources(52042)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123675943","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Output power of solar PV systems are intermittent in nature and depend on the operating PV cell temperature and solar irradiance value. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that the maximum power is extracted from a solar PV panel at given condition or irradiance and temperature. In this paper, we have tried to extract the maximum power out of solar PV panels connected in series using a DC-DC boost converter and by employing a MPPT algorithm. Electric vehicle (EV) technology is considered a game-changer in the transportation sector as it offers advantages such as eco-friendliness, cheaper fuel cost, lower maintenance expenses, energy-efficient and increased safety. The energy system design is very critical to the performance of the electric vehicle. The first step in the energy storage design is the selection of the appropriate energy storage resources. This article presents the various energy storage technologies and points out their advantages and disadvantages in a simple and elaborate manner. It shows that battery/ultracapacitor hybrid energy system technology is the most suitable for electric vehicle applications. Li-ion battery technology with high specific energy and range is very suitable for this application. Further it analyzes the basic parallel configuration of the hybrid energy storage system.","PeriodicalId":202287,"journal":{"name":"2021 Innovations in Energy Management and Renewable Resources(52042)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124832587","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During islanding, the loads in the system are reallocated to be shared by the distributed generations (DGs) leading to voltage and frequency shifts. These variations should be such that the load does not experience transients. Therefore, an optimization based scheme is proposed for minimizing both frequency and voltage deviations. In the proposed work, the DG unit having largest capacity in the microgrid is assigned as the master controller. This controller calculates the optimized frequency and voltage deviations dynamically at different load levels. Similar procedure is followed by other DG units for setting their respective phase angle and voltage references for individual inverters. Therefore, simultaneous control of frequency and voltage is achieved with proper load sharing among the DG units. Simulations performed in MATLAB/Simulink justify the effectiveness of the proposed controller.","PeriodicalId":202287,"journal":{"name":"2021 Innovations in Energy Management and Renewable Resources(52042)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128813154","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed system ensures continuous power supply to loads in a DC microgrid. The EMS considers the renewable power variation, availability of grid, state of charge of HESS and changes in local loads. without measuring load currents / powers, this system can detect the operating mode of system. In the proposed system, current stress on a battery can be reduced by supercapacitor and better DC link voltage regulation is achieved. The EMS also addresses extreme operating conditions such as load shedding, off-MPPT operation of PV, elimination of critical oscillation of HESS powers. With the time domain simulation studies, the performance of the proposed EMS is verified.","PeriodicalId":202287,"journal":{"name":"2021 Innovations in Energy Management and Renewable Resources(52042)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122688098","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Here, we analyse using redox flow battery(RFB) in EVs’ in combination with a novel method of electrical energy transportation and storage. Suitability of RFB for use in the same is examined in comparison to Li-ion battery. Taking India as an example, financial viability analysis is done using budget allocated for the Green corridor project as a benchmark. The combined solution facilitates EV adoption, grid support initiatives and absorption of RE. While energy density of RFB electrolyte has increased significantly the simultaneous increase in viscosity is the major challenge in establishing the system proposed. The analysis demonstrates the need for focused research into developing low viscosity RFB electrolytes to attain the full potential of the technology.","PeriodicalId":202287,"journal":{"name":"2021 Innovations in Energy Management and Renewable Resources(52042)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123963800","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
