Multimedia networking is now possible with the existing network infrastructure. We describe a real time multimedia presentation system for media on demand over the Internet. It uses RTP and is capable of real time video/audio transmission. Our system consists of servers that maintain video/audio clips and clients that retrieve and present them to the users. It provides VCR like control features for user interactivity during playback. Source change isolation provides an inexpensive, alternative to mechanical analytical methods for identifying the cause of software regressions. It also provides the advantage of enabling regressions to be eliminated by reversing the effect of source changes that introduced errant behavior, without the need to write new code, and without halting other development work on the same software. In addition to timing requirements involving the execution time of individual computations, LTP can specify timing constraints that are associated with process descriptions: periodic constraints and sporadic constraints. Periodic processes (e.g. sensors) are usually time-driven; sporadic processes are usually event-driven. In LTP common real-time constraints such as delays, deadlines, and timeouts can be modeled conveniently. They specifically introduce a new construct for modeling periodic behavior, which is quite common in real-time applications. They validate LTP specifications by translating from LTP to a kind of timed automata that is amenable to well-known model checking techniques. To solve these problems, the paper suggests the Farming methodology which originated from the network computing concept. With the methodology, redundant software and data components in the distributed objects are moved to a platform independent class repository (PICR) in the form of componentware. When the PICR is constructed, several aspects of TMN are considered. After setting up the framework of DO, some small componentwares are loaded dynamically to DO, while others are loaded statically. For example, the authors would like to identify quality attributes that can be quantitatively characterized, measured, or only intuitively reviewed and evaluated. Existing distributed query processing techniques must be refocused to reduce latency delay, exploit bandwidth-on-demand, handle multicast issues, and reduce the usual transmission and local processing delays. The authors propose a set of strategies designed to help the implementers of distributed query algorithms on high speed, bandwidth-on-demand, wide area networks. A distributed join algorithm using these design strategies is developed. Using an analytical model they show that the time cost for the proposed new distributed join algorithm is only slightly above that of a theoretical lower bound. A forwarding strategy in the PCS network can be implemented by two mechanisms: a forwarding operation which follows a chain of databases to locate a mobile user, and a resetting operation which updates the databases in the chain so that the current location of a mobile user can be known directly without having to follow a chain of databases. We consider the PCS network as a server whose function is to provide services to the mobile user for \"updating the location of the user as the user moves across a database boundary\" and \"locating the mobile user\". We use a Markov chain to describe the behavior of the mobile user and analyze the best time when forwarding and resetting should be performed in order to optimize the service rate of the PCS network.
