In these sites, people search for products using retrieval systems. They, however, often cannot translate their subjective needs into keyword-based queries or adapt to the interfaces. In this paper, we describe a product retrieval system robust to subjective queries. Using a large amount of consumer reviews, the system allows users to input natural language queries and retrieves appropriate products even if the queries are highly subjective. To estimate the correspondence between a query and a review text, the system extracts 3-tuples consisting of a product name/category, its features, and the value from each text using rules based on syntactic patterns. It calculates each product scores based on correspondence rate of 3-tuples and presents ranked relevant products. In experimental results for a accommodation domain, it obtained higher average and total precision for 10 queries compared with a baseline that uses keyword based tf-idf method. Thus, we confirmed the effectiveness for subjective queries.","PeriodicalId":198626,"journal":{"name":"2007 2nd International Conference on Digital Information Management","volume":"96 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129942837","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They develop by various ways, and their detection, at early stages, is not always easy. Furthermore, their follow-up requires the collaboration of several partners, which is very complex and sometimes inefficient. The objective is to produce collaborative platform of diagnosis and follow-up of the disease in order to bring a real-time analyse of the situation and an automatic transfer of the adequate data to various institutional and medical partners. Each partner can access the system with interfaces that are adapted to the user’s profile (doctors, nurse, technician, etc.). These interfaces takes in consideration the heterogeneous of platforms to access the system (mobile phone, PDA, computer). Our proposal will be set up and validated at the Civil Hospices of Lyon, aiming to accelerate the detection and the follow-up of Legionella in Edouard Herriot hospital’s units. If the system is conclusive, it will be applied in other hospitals.","PeriodicalId":198626,"journal":{"name":"2007 2nd International Conference on Digital Information Management","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129807613","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A new method for sequences clustering and prediction is presented in this paper, which is based on a hybrid model that uses our b-coloring based clustering approach as well as Markov chain models. The paper focuses on clinical pathway analysis but the method applies to every kind of sequences, and a generic decision support framework has been developed for managers and experts. The interesting result is that the clusters obtained have a twofold representation. Firstly, there is a set of dominant sequences which reflects the properties of the cluster and also guarantees that clusters are well separated within the partition. On the other hand, the behavior of each cluster is governed by a finite-state Markov chain model which allows probabilistic prediction. These models can be used for predicting possible paths for a new patient, and for helping medical professionals to eventually react to exceptions during the clinical process.","PeriodicalId":198626,"journal":{"name":"2007 2nd International Conference on Digital Information Management","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129987496","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As businesses continually evolve, so do risks. Risk management becomes a crucial part of every successful business model to deal with uncertain and risky socio-economic changes. The emergence of supply chains which coordinate organizations, people, activities, information and resources dramatically increases risk crises. Efforts have resulted in process reference models, such as the supply chain operations reference (SCOR), which measures total supply chain performance. Although the SCOR model is designed and maintained to support supply chains of various complexities across multiple industries, the current version does not provide a basis for the risk management of projects and decision making workload. This paper attempts to propose an approach to bridge the gap between the SCOR model and risk management. Its underlying approach focuses on the types of threats in SCOR implementation projects and applies empirical benchmarks to measure risks in process elements.","PeriodicalId":198626,"journal":{"name":"2007 2nd International Conference on Digital Information Management","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129347019","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently, various approaches based on patterns (e.g.. association rules) that hold within labeled data have been considered. In this paper, we propose a novel associative classification algorithm that combines rules and a decision tree structure. In a so-called delta-PDT (delta-pattern decision tree), nodes are made of selected disjunctive delta- strong classification rules. Such rules are generated from collections of delta-free patterns that can be computed efficiently. These rules have a minimal body, they are non- redundant and they avoid classification conflicts under a sensible condition on delta. We show that they also capture the discriminative power of emerging patterns. Our approach is empirically evaluated by means of a comparison to state-of-the-art proposals (i.e., C4.5, CBA CPAR, SJEPs- classifier).","PeriodicalId":198626,"journal":{"name":"2007 2nd International Conference on Digital Information Management","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125570669","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This can be realized through proper capturing, representation, management and reasoning of constantly changing context. In this work, we propose a hybrid approach to collaborative context management. It uses semantic ontology and relational schema. System scalability is addressed by heuristic based selective loading of relevant context data into the reasoner. The latter is multi-dimensional, heterogeneous and of complex structure. It is also not well known how to use context to predict the dynamic learner behavior. In this paper an attempt is made to solve some of these challenges. In particular, the paper contribution is a context-aware model capable of recognizing and coordinating learner’s goals and activities in order to map these activities onto available learning services and resources. This is achieved through a structured and flexible ontology formulation of context, based on context fusion and cooperation, and driven by the learner’s goals and activities. The proposed context reasoning and recognition process relies on three ontologies where semantic structures, often crossing semantic levels, are used by a semantic matchmaker that can perform reasoning for context-oriented service discovery and access.","PeriodicalId":198626,"journal":{"name":"2007 2nd International Conference on Digital Information Management","volume":"122 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115753176","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Handover, the vital event in which a user changes the attachment point in a next generation network (NGN), is an important occasion and the conditions and environment in which it is executed can offer relevant information for businesses. This paper describes the capabilities of a platform which intends to exploit contextual handover information offering a rich environment that can be used by access and content providers for building innovative context-aware multi-provided services. Based on ontologies, the technique not only eases the building of versatile services but also provides a comprehensive source of information both for enriching user navigation in the network as well as for the improvement of the provider's relationship with their customers.","PeriodicalId":198626,"journal":{"name":"2007 2nd International Conference on Digital Information Management","volume":"135 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123782973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
