The objective is to take advantage of artificial intelligence methods to estimate the MOS parameter and obtain a similar accuracy to that obtained by methods and procedures established in the international norms and international licensed standards. The proposed algorithm uses the MOS results obtained by the method detailed in the ITU-T P.862 standard. The values were obtained for different signals acquired at different reception points. With this information we proceeded to design and train a convolutional neuronal network of 4 layers, achieving very satisfactory results. For the validation, the mean square error was used to measure the degree of similarity of the MOS values obtained by ITU-T P.862 and by the proposed algorithm. The results show a mean square error of 0.00007 for the proposed algorithm.","PeriodicalId":198240,"journal":{"name":"2019 XXII Symposium on Image, Signal Processing and Artificial Vision (STSIVA)","volume":"466 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127866929","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One application is the evaluation of the inner state of standing trees in urban areas. The quality of the tomographic image depends on several factors, such as the number of probes used and the image reconstruction algorithm. Here we are interested in evaluating the influence of using a reconstruction algorithm adapted to wood anisotropy, compared to the classic methods using an isotropic model, and the effect of numerically increasing the number of sensors and the time-of-flight measurements using an interpolation method, known as sinogram interpolation. A numerical configuration was tested, simulating the presence of an eccentric defect in a wood section. Reconstructed images were compared before and after the interpolation process, and a thresholding was applied to quantify the decay area estimation. A more detailed defect identification was obtained with the reconstruction algorithm adapted to wood anisotropy and the interpolation of the sensors.","PeriodicalId":198240,"journal":{"name":"2019 XXII Symposium on Image, Signal Processing and Artificial Vision (STSIVA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129973853","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this work a prototype is proposed, called MARRSIDS, based on elements of accessible hardware, free software and artificial vision that allows to monitor the infant, while she/he sleeps. The monitoring assintant executes a sound alarm if it identifies that the child is in an incorrect position. To verify the reliability of the device, experiments are included in children, with different characteristics, that have been monitored during a certain period of time in which the behavior of the device has proven to be effective.","PeriodicalId":198240,"journal":{"name":"2019 XXII Symposium on Image, Signal Processing and Artificial Vision (STSIVA)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126660953","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nevertheless, little has been done to get other type of information from the videos. This project develops a people counting system for video from detection and tracking algorithms developed on Python 3. The use of trackers and detectors makes the system more robust to avoid overcounting problems. Comparisons were made to evaluate three different detection algorithms: YOLO, SSD and OpenPose; and six tracking algorithms developed on OpenCV: Boosting, MIL, KCF, TLD, Median Flow, MOSSE y CSRT, in order to implement the best algorithms. The system manages to obtain a relative error of maximum counting of 40%, having trouble with sub counting of people in the video.","PeriodicalId":198240,"journal":{"name":"2019 XXII Symposium on Image, Signal Processing and Artificial Vision (STSIVA)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114071300","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it has been recently shown that there are advantages to directly solving the convolutional dictionary learning (CDL) problem considering a separable FB.A separable filter bank of M 2-d filters is typically constructed from a paired set of M horizontal filters and M vertical filters. In contrast, here we propose an outer product construction involving all possible combinations of vertical and horizontal filters, so that M vertical and M horizontal filters generate M2 2-d filters. Our computational experiments show that this alternative form results in a reduction in computation time of 10% and 80% for the CDL and CSC problems respectively, while matching the reconstruction performance of the typical separable FB approach for the same cardinality.","PeriodicalId":198240,"journal":{"name":"2019 XXII Symposium on Image, Signal Processing and Artificial Vision (STSIVA)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124895183","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This work presents a regional multiscale motion representation of cardiac structures that is able to recognize pathologies on cine-MRI sequences. Firstly, a dense optical flow that considers large displacements was computed to obtain a velocity field representation. Then, regional dynamic patterns are coded into a multiscale scheme, from coarse to fine, emerging the most relevant cardiac patterns that remain along the different scales. The resulting motion descriptor is then formed by a set of flow orientation occurrences computed in whole multiscale regions. This descriptor is mapped to a previously trained Random forest classifier to obtain a prediction of the cardiac condition. The proposed strategy was evaluated over a set of 45 cine-MRI volumes achieving an average F1-score of 77.83% on the task of binary classification of among fourth cardiac conditions.","PeriodicalId":198240,"journal":{"name":"2019 XXII Symposium on Image, Signal Processing and Artificial Vision (STSIVA)","volume":"98 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127519984","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The algorithm aims to reduce the subjectivity in the analysis by visual perception. Errors in this analysis affect the dosage plan of fertilizers and nutrients applied by producers. The algorithm is formed first by a step of contrast improvement from the luminance followed by a SIFT algorithm that provides the important points for the generation of the corresponding descriptors. In parallel to this, the improved image is subjected to thresholding to obtain Hu and Fourier descriptors. With the three types of descriptors, a specific neuronal network is trained separately according to the nutritional deficiency to be detected. Kappa index was used to compare the results with those taken by visual inspection. The results were satisfactory, obtaining a Kappa coefficient of 0.96 for N and P deficiency, and 0.92 for B.","PeriodicalId":198240,"journal":{"name":"2019 XXII Symposium on Image, Signal Processing and Artificial Vision (STSIVA)","volume":"98 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122798416","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, nutrient deficiencies and plague attacks during cultivation stages represent a major difficulty for farmers since early identification of these states (i.e. deficiencies and plagues) is a time-consuming activity that requires trained evaluators to do so. In this paper, an automatic method for identification of avocado leaf state is proposed. This method uses k-means, in a s-v space at superpixel level, to segment leaf from uniform background from images captured in-field in semi-controlled conditions and a shallow neural network to classify composed histograms from segmented leaves into 4 states: Healthy, Fe deficiency, Mg deficiency and red spider plague. The proposed method separates leaf from background with an average F-score of 0.98 and classifies leaf condition with an overall accuracy of 96.8%.","PeriodicalId":198240,"journal":{"name":"2019 XXII Symposium on Image, Signal Processing and Artificial Vision (STSIVA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131165830","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We report improvements for disc segmentation in comparison with other works on the literature, a novel method to segment the cup by thresholding and a new measure between the size of the cup and the size of the disc.
