To address this crisis, many universities are switching from face-to-face learning to distance learning. They replaced face-to-face (FTF) instruction with classes taught by means of online platforms, so that teachers and students could remain academically productive even when not meeting in person. The sudden and rapid adaptation during the Covid-19 pandemic has created very significant transformations and challenges for the world of higher education globally. This study analyzes self-reported experiences of students using the Zoom platform for online learning in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms during the pandemic, and it assesses the extent to which the Zoom platform satisfied students’ expectations. Data was collected from seventeen students majoring in English Education at a higher education institution during the fourth semester of the 2019/2020 academic year. The instrument is questionnaires. Qualitative data were obtained by means of a questionnaire and an essay of students’ reflections. Data analysis was conducted by examining five aspects of responses based on indicators from the appraisal: intrinsic pleasure, novelty, the significance of goals/needs, coping potential, and norms/self-conformance. The study revealed that students found many benefits but encountered difficulties or barriers in using the Zoom platform for online learning during Covid-19. \u0000Abstrak \u0000Pandemi Covid-19 telah mempengaruhi proses belajar dan mengajar di berbagai universitas di seluruh dunia. Untuk mengatasi krisis ini, banyak universitas beralih dari pembelajaran tatap muka ke pembelajaran jarak jauh. Mereka mengganti pembelajaran tatap muka dengan kelas yang diajarkan melalui sarana online sehingga dosen dan mahasiswa tetap produktif secara akademis bahkan ketika tidak bertemu langsung. Proses adaptasi yang cepat di masa pandemi Covid-19 ini telah menciptakan baik perubahan maupun tantangan yang sangat signifikan bagi dunia perguruan tinggi secara global. Studi ini menganalisis pengalaman mahasiswa yang dilaporkan sendiri tentang penggunaan sarana Zoom untuk pembelajaran online di kelas Bahasa Inggris sebagai Bahasa Asing (EFL) selama pandemi, dan menilai sejauh mana sarana Zoom memenuhi harapan mahasiswa. Data dikumpulkan dari tujuh belas mahasiswa jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris di perguruan tinggi pada semester keempat tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Instrumennya adalah kuesioner. Data kualitatif diperoleh melalui angket dan essai refleksi mahasiswa. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menguji lima aspek tanggapan berdasarkan indikator penilaian: kesenangan intrinsik, kebaruan, signifikansi tujuan/kebutuhan, mengatasi potensi, dan norma/kesesuaian diri. {"title":"Analysis of Syntax Errors in Writing and Learning Model of Insya’ by Students of the Khadimul Ummah Islamic Boarding School Bintan/ Analisis Kesalahan Sintaks pada Penulisan dan Model Pembelajaran Insya' oleh Santri Pondok Pesantren Khadimul Ummah Bintan","authors":"Aidillah Suja, Cahya Edi Setyawan, Tri Murdiono","doi":"10.14421/edulab.2022.71.01","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.14421/edulab.2022.71.01","url":null,"abstract":"The goal of this study is to determine the types of writing errors that students at the Khadimul Ummah Bintan Islamic Boarding School make in terms of syntactic elements, as well as give methods to reduce the incidence of these errors. Data was collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis method employed a 'discourse analysis', which is a type of analysis that looks for patterns in the texts. The micro linguistic units associated to syntax are examined using the discourse analysis in the texts. This method was used to look at data on the suitability of using Arabic in the subject of insya' to detect faults and discrepancies when using Arabic terms. Results of the study show: (1) students of the Khadimul Ummah Bintan Islamic Boarding School have ten different types of writing errors: nakirah and ma'rifah, mudzakkar and muannats, meaningful harf, dhamir usage, mufrad, mutsanna, and jama', i'rab, fi'il, na'at, and man'ut, mu'rabah, and word writing. (2) Methods for reducing these errors include applying the acquisition of Arabic language rules (Nahwu) via deductive or inductive methods, and implementing the integration of learning. The Khadimul Ummah Islamic Boarding School of Bintan is pioneering the insya' learning approach by using the Insya' Muwajjah learning paradigm, which involves giving students several examples of how to correctly organize Arabic words/sentences and a large amount of daily vocabulary while simultaneously writing it down. \u0000Abstrak \u0000Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk kesalahan tulisan insya’ santri Pondok Pesantren Khadimul Ummah Bintan ditinjau dari aspek sintaksis dan untuk meminimalisir kesalahan menulis. Metode pengumpulan data adalah wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Metode analisis data menggunakan analisis wacana, yang bertujuan mengetahui pola-pola bahasa yang diekspresikan via teks. Analisis wacana digunakan untuk mengkaji unit bahasa secara mikro, terkait sintaksis yang fokus pada kesesuaian penulisan dan penggunaan Bahasa Arab dalam mata pelajaran insya’. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1) ada 10 bentuk kesalahan tulisan insya’ pada santri Pondok Pesantren Khadimul Ummah Bintan pada aspek-aspek berikut ini: nakirah dan ma’rifah, mudzakar dan muannats, harf bermakna, penggunaan dhamir, mufrad. mutsanna, dan jama’, i’rab, fi’il, na’at dan man’ut, mu’rabah, dan penulisan kata. Students who previously studied face-to-face should begin to adapt to learning by using information and communication technology. This study aims to determine the productivity and independence of students in learning activities integrated with the information and communication technology in the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Abdul Barri. This study is a descriptive qualitative study. The data collection methods used were interviews and observation. Interviews were held with the director, teachers and guardians of students. The results of this study show that the productivity of students in computer-based learning activities is manifested in the activity of collecting student structured assignments using the information technology. Meanwhile, student independence can be measured through the completion of assignments and the submission of them in-hand to the teacher, without relying on parents’ aid, but remain under parental supervision. The computer-based learning as an extracurricular activity has the potential to stimulate the interests of students to use information and communication technology, and to expose them the benefits of the technology-based learning tools as an alternative to school-based learning in order to develop their productivity and independence. \u0000Abstrak \u0000Adaptasi pembelajaran daring akibat dampak virus corona memiliki berbagai hambatan, antara lain kendala jaringan, serta kurangnya fasilitas elektronik dan kemampuan orang tua dalam mendampingi anak belajar. Peserta didik yang tadinya melakukan pembelajaran tatap muka harus mulai beradaptasi pada pembelajaran dengan memanfaatkan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui produktivitas dan kemandirian siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran yang terintegrasi dengan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Abdul Barri. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah wawancara dan observasi. Wawancara dilakukan kepada Kepala Madrasah, guru, dan wali siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa produktivitas siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran berbasis komputer diukur dari keberhasilan pengumpulan tugas-tugas terstruktur siswa dengan memanfaatkan teknologi informasi. Sementara itu, kemandirian siswa terlihat pada aktivitas siswa mengerjakan tugas dan mengirimkannya kepada guru secara mandiri tanpa bantuan orang tua mereka, namun tetap dalam pengawasan orang tua. The purpose of this article is to provide an overview and insight regarding the use of Microsoft PowerPoint in mahārah istimā' learning, both online and offline. This study used descriptive qualitative methods, while data collection utilized observation, documentation, and questionnaires. The data analysis stage in this study used the model of Miles and Huberman which consists of three paths, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing or conclusions. Based on the results, PowerPoint is able to help educators create and deliver mahārah istimā' learning, and can facilitate students acquisition and understand the lecture. Specifically, the advantages of learning mahārah istimā' using the PowerPoint are being able to combine images and audio, using the learner’s own voice, using Arabic audio such as al-Arabiyah Bayna Yadaik MP3, or using a native speaker’s illustrations with writing through the narakeet.com website, which is applied in this research. Materials that have been uploaded into the PowerPoint can be saved in PDF and MPEG-4 video formats so that students can study them independently. The contents of the learning materials, both images, and audio can also be changed as needed. \u0000Abstrak \u0000Di era digital saat ini seorang pendidik dituntut untuk mampu memanfaatkan berbagai media teknologi sebagai alternatif untuk mendukung aktivitas pembelajaran. Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah untuk memberikan gambaran dan wawasan terkait pemanfaatan Microsoft Power Point dalam pembelajaran mahārah istimā’, baik secara daring maupun luring. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, sedangkan pengumpulan data menggunakan metode observasi, dokumentasi, dan kuisioner. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yang terdiri dari tiga alur yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan atau kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, Media Power Point dapat membantu pendidik dalam membuat dan menyampaikan pembelajaran mahārah istimā’, serta memfasilitasi peserta didik menerima dan mengerti materi pembelajaran. Secara spesifik kelebihan pembelajaran mahārah istimā’ menggunakan Power Point adalah bisa memadukan antara gambar dan audio, baik menggunakan suara sendiri, audio bahasa Arab seperti al-Arabiyah Bayna Yadaik MP3, atau audio bahasa Arab dengan tulisan melalui website narakeet.com. The results obtained to state that MIS Al Islamiyah Lumbang has a reason for the policy of graduates of hafiz Al Quran because the quality of graduates of hafiz Al Quran will show the characteristics of madrasah, providing students' provision in society. While MIN Rakha has a reason with the quality of hafiz al Quran graduates can improve the quality of madrasahs and will be one of the attractions of Madrasah. The implementation of the quality policy of graduates of hafiz Al Qur'an in MIS Al Islamiah Lumbang village with the stage of dividing the activity time with learning hours, providing Quran material and selected prayers and others. While at MIN Rakha Amuntai the management of the quality policy of graduates of hafiz Al Qura'an with the stages of holding material books and memorization guides, and giving program time for one hour. \u0000Abstrak \u0000Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menjelaskan alasan dan pelaksanaan kebijakan di MIS Lumbang dan MIN Rakha Amuntai melaksanakan kebijakan lulusan siswa mejadi hafiz Al Quran. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif diskriptif dengan menggunakan analisis model Miles dan Huberman dan untuk validasi data menggunakan triangulasi data. Hasil yang diperoleh menyatakan bahwa MIS Al Islamiyah Lumbang memiliki alasan untuk kebijakan lulusan hafiz Al Quran karena mutu lulusan hafiz Al Quran akan menunjukkan ciri khas madrasah dan memberikan bekal siswa dalam bermasyarakat. Sedangkan MIN Rakha memiliki alasan dengan mutu lulusan hafiz Al Quran dapat meningkatkan kualitas madrasah dan akan menjadi salah satu daya tarik dari Madrasah. Pemberlakuan kebijakan mutu lulusan hafiz Al Qur’an di MIS Al Islamiah Lumbang dengan tahapan membagi waktu kegiatan dengan jam pembelajaran, memberikan materi Al Quran dan doa-doa pilihan serta yang lainnya. The development model used was adapted from the 4D model (Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate. This learning module was validated by one material expert lecturer and one media expert lecturer. The quality of the product was assessed by three science teachers, and ten SMP/MTs students responded. The instrument used was used in validation sheets, product quality assessment sheets using a Likert scale, student response sheets in the form of a questionnaire using the Guttman scale, and daily test questions. The assessment of module quality by three science teachers got a percentage of 90.4% with an excellent category (SB) and a response of ten students with a percentage of 85%. The results of the module trial for class VIII student learning at SMP Negeri 4 Depok, Yogyakarta, obtained a completeness percentage of 90.6% with a minimum completeness criterion (KKM) of 75. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the product developed is feasible for the learning process in SMP/MTs to improve learning outcomes. \u0000Abstrak \u0000Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui kualitas modul pembelajaran sains terpadu pada materi zat aditif dan proses pencernaan makanan untuk siswa SMP/MTs. Model pengembangan yang digunakan mengadaptasi dari model 4D (Define, Design, Development, dan Disseminate. Modul pembelajaran ini divalidasi oleh satu dosen ahli materi dan satu dosen ahli media. Kualitas produk dinilai oleh tiga guru IPA dan direspon sepuluh siswa SMP/MTs. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar validasi, lembar penilaian kualitas produk menggunakan skala Likert, lembar respon siswa berupa angket menggunakan skala Guttman, dan soal ulangan harian. Penilaian kualitas modul oleh tiga guru IPA mendapatkan persentase 90,4% dengan kategori Sangat Baik (SB) dan respon sepuluh siswa dengan persentase sebesar 85%. Hasil uji coba modul untuk pembelajaran siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Depok yogyakarta diperoleh persentase ketuntasan sebesar 90,6% dengan kriteria ketuntasan minimal (KKM) sebesar 75. This study uses qualitative evaluation research. The evaluation uses the CIPP model (context, input, process, product). The subjects of this study were caregivers, managers of the Taḥfīẓ al-Qur'an program, educators, and boarding students. The technique of determining the research sample using the purposive sampling technique. Data collection methods using interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis uses three steps, namely data reduction, data display, concluding/verification. Test the validity of the data using source and technique triangulation. This study indicates that the three aspects of the Taḥfīẓ al-Qur'an Program at An-Nur Islamic Boarding School, namely context, input, process, are very effective and one aspect, namely product, is an effective category. In general, it can be concluded that the Taḥfīẓ al-Qur'an Program at An-Nur Islamic Boarding School was carried out very effectively. The program has succeeded in creating al-Qur'an memorizers of good quality, responsibility, and akhlāq al-karīmah. \u0000Abstrak \u0000Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengevaluasi efektivitas Program Taḥfīẓ al-Qur’an di Pondok Pesantren An Nur Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian evaluasi kualitatif. Evaluasi menggunakan model CIPP (context, input, process, product). Subyek penelitian ini adalah pengasuh, pengelola program Taḥfīẓ al-Qur’an, pendidik dan para santri pondok. Teknik penentuan sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan tiga langkah, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi. Uji keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tiga aspek Program Taḥfīẓ al-Qur’an di Pondok Pesantren An-Nur yakni konteks, input, proses termasuk kategori sangat efektif dan satu aspek, yakni produk termasuk kategori efektif. Secara umum dapat disimpulkan bahwa Program Taḥfīẓ al-Qur’an di Pondok Pesantren An-Nur dilaksanakan dengan sangat efektif. Those two textbooks are analyzed in reference to the technical instructions for book guidelines of the Regulation of the Ministry of Education and Culture (Permendikbud) Number 8 Year 2016 and in particular, textbook quality and presentation are the two aspects of the textbook evaluation criteria in this study. A qualitative design was employed and the data were collected with library research. The data analysis was conducted through three stages: (1) descriptive analysis, (2) categorizing, and (3) connecting. The result of the study showed that both two textbooks are not suited to several indicators of coursebook quality and presentation according to Permendikbud Number 8 Year 2016. In terms of textbook quality, two textbooks have a distinction on source of materials and both of them display similarities such as (1) illustrating poor in quality; (2) creating innovation and independent learning; (3) supporting self-development; (4) promoting national integrity. In regard to presentation aspect, they both present different illustrations and share striking similarities including (1) delivering unattractive presentations; (2) presenting clear illustrations; (3) promoting students’ critical thinking, creativity, and innovation; (4) offering cultural localization of materials; and (5) provoking a sense of great curiosity. \u0000Abstrak \u0000Penelitian ini merupakan analisis perbandingan buku bahasa Arab siswa kelas 1 MI Edisi Kurikulum 2013 dan KMA 183 Tahun 2019 berdasarkan petunjuk teknis pedoman buku pada Permendikbud Nomor 8 Tahun 2016. Analisis tersebut ditinjau dari aspek kelayakan materi dan penyajian. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan studi kepustakaan. Metode analisis data melalui tiga tahapan, yaitu analisis deskriptif, analisis kategori, dan analisis connecting. Hasil penelitian ini adalah kedua buku bahasa Arab belum sesuai dengan beberapa indikator aspek kelayakan materi dan penyajian berdasarkan Permendikbud Nomor 8 Tahun 2016. Dilihat dari aspek kelayakan materi, kedua buku tersebut memiliki satu perbedaan dan empat persamaan. Perbedaan tersebut terdapat pada sumber materi. Adapun empat persamaan dari kedua buku bahasa Arab tersebut yaitu: (1) masih ada materi yang belum benar dan akurat; (2) materi bisa menstimulasi munculnya kemandirian dan inovasi; (3) materi bisa mendukung untuk mengembangkan diri siswa; dan (4) materi bisa menjaga persatuan dan kesatuan bangsa. Some instructors feel they spontaneously do not require the language environment (bi'ah lughawiyyah) in the teaching and learning process. This obviously has such a broad impact on the four language skills and one of the biggest challenges for them is that they could not teach Arabic speaking skills communicatively. This study aims to offer a considerable insight about the use of Zoom Cloud Meetings in improving Arabic speaking skills (mahārah kālam) during the pandemic. The study used qualitative descriptive methods and the data were collected through interviews and documentation. The data were analyzed using the theory of Miles and Huberman. Based on the review of results of interviews and documentation, Zoom Cloud Meeting is an effective way to improve students’ speech as it provides complete features so that communication between lecturers and students using Arabic can be established properly. To improve these skills, storytelling (taqdimul qisshah) and conversation (muhadatsah) are practiced. As a learning medium, Zoom certainly has advantages and disadvantages. The benefits of this media include having complete features, good access, large, flexible, and high capacity and supporting the teaching and learning process. While the drawbacks of using zoom application are the extra financial burden for internet quota, media restrictions, and having a strong internet connection. \u0000Abstrak \u0000Kehadiran virus Covid-19 memunculkan permasalahan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab. Beberapa pendidik merasa kehilangan bi’ah lughowiyyah pada proses belajar mengajar. Hal ini mengakibatkan empat keterampilan bahasa, khususnya keterampilan berbicara tidak dapat terealisaikan dengan maksimal. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk memberikan wawasan kepada pendidik tentang pemanfaatan Zoom Cloud Meeting dalam meningkatkan mahārah kālam pada masa pandemi. Pada penelitian ini penulis menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, dengan metode pengumpulan data yaitu wawancara dan dokumentasi. Metode analisis data pada penelitian ini adalah teori Miles dan Huberman. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dan dokumentasi, Zoom Cloud Meeting dinilai efektif dalam meningkatkan mahārah kālam mahasiswa. Hal ini dikarenakan Zoom menyediakan fitur-fitur yang lengkap, sehingga komunikasi antara dosen dan mahasiswa dengan menggunakan bahasa Arab dapat terlaksana dengan baik. Metode yang digunakan dalam meningkatkan mahārah kālam adalah metode taqdimul qisshah dan muhadatsah. Sebagai media pembelajaran, Zoom memiliki kelebihan dan kekurangan. Kelebihan dari media tersebut adalah tersedinya fitur-fitur yang lengkap dan mendukung proses belajar mengajar, kapasitas ruang yang besar, fleksibel, dan kapasitas akses yang tinggi. These bacteria are also often used to test in practicum and research activities in the Marine Microbiology laboratory. This study aims to isolate and identify pathogenic and non-pathogenic bacteria of Eucheuma Spinosum used for bacterial stock culture in the Marine Microbiology Laboratory. The isolation was carried out using the pour-plate technique. Colony morphology of bacteria was observed visually such as their shape, edge, elevation, and color. Identification was verified using VITEK MS tool and then, additional testing was conducted to clarify pathogenicity. This study found eight different bacterial species isolated from E. Spinosum after the pathogenic testing, six pathogenic bacteria were found such as Vibrio alginolyticus, Shewanella algae, Staphylococcus kloosii, Staphylococcus gallinarum, Pseudomonas stutzeri, and Staphylococcus arlettae. While the nonpathogenic bacteria indicating that they do not describe clinical symptoms are Bacillus cereus and Brevibacterium casei. \u0000Abstrak \u0000Keragaman dan keunikan dari bakteri yang berasal dari ekosistem laut sangat menarik minat peneliti untuk terus dikaji dan dimanfaatkan. Penggunaan bakteri ini juga sering dibutuhkan dalam kegiatan praktikum dan penelitian di laboratorium mikrobiologi laut sebagai bakteri uji. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengisolasi dan mengidentifikasi bakteri patogen dan non-patogen dari rumput laut Eucheuma spinosum (E. spinosum) yang akan dijadikan sebagai stok kultur bakteri di laboratorium mikrobiologi laut. Metode isolasi menggunakan metode agar cawan tuang, pengamatan morfologi koloni dilakukan secara visual bentuk, tepian, elevasi dan warna koloni bakteri. Identifikasi menggunakan alat VITEK MS dan selanjutnya dilakukan pengujian patogenisitas. Penelitian ini menghasilkan delapan spesies bakteri berbeda yang berhasil dipisahkan dari rumput laut E. Spinosum, setelah uji patogenisitas diperoleh enam isolat yang bersifat patogen yaitu bakteri Vibrio alginolyticus, shewanella algae, Staphylococcus kloosii, Staphylococcus gallinarum, Pseudomonas stutzeri dan Staphylococcus arlettae.
