In this paper, we argue that data governance plays a vital role for the success of this vision. This role is further emphasized when considering the country’s appetite for emerging technologies such as cloud computing solutions. A thorough survey of literature shows that data governance in general and for cloud computing, more specifically, is under researched. This paper puts the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Vision 2030 for digital transformation under a test. Supported by an empirical study, this paper provides an early warning of a highly likely failure if data governance is not integrated in the vision as a driver for digital transformation. An empirical survey, using a self-administered questionnaire, is conducted to explore and evaluate the status of data governance in the Saudi Arabia. The results of the study reveal that despite the wide recognition of the importance of data governance, especially for cloud computing, there is a consensus that this area is really in its infancy and almost absent from the Saudi organizations.","PeriodicalId":197301,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE/ACS 14th International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications (AICCSA)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115253266","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a consequence, implementation platforms evolve faster than business logic. Thus, when extracting knowledge to enrich or build an ontology, business logic is not always a complete data source. To solve this problem, some authors have suggested to adopt an ontology learning approach in order to extract knowledge from the source code. The great ease of acquisition and modeling of 3D objects make possible to create large 3D models databases, then, it becomes difficult to navigate them. Therefore, the indexing of 3D objects appears as a necessary and promising solution to manage this type of data, to extract model information, retrieve an existing model or calculate similarity between 3D objects. The objective of the proposed research is to develop a framework allowing easy and fast access to 3D objects in a CAD models database with specific indexing algorithm to find objects similar to a reference model. Our main objectives are to study existing methods of 3D objects similarity calculation (essentially shape-based methods) by specifying the characteristics of each method as well as the difference between them, and then we will propose a new approach for indexing and comparing 3D models, which is suitable for our case study and which is based on some studied previously methods. Our proposed approach is finally illustrated by an implementation, and evaluated in a professional context.","PeriodicalId":197301,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE/ACS 14th International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications (AICCSA)","volume":"131 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116718897","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Unfortunately, this is not the case for other languages and, in particular, for the Arabic language. Few serious research attempts are reported to build necessary resources such as datasets to serve Arabic sentiment analysis research efforts. In order to expedite building necessary huge datasets in Arabic or any other dataset-poor language, automatic translation from a rich source-language can make a viable alternative to generate the required resources for a target language. This is mainly driven by the assumption that translation usually preserves the sentiment upto certain degree. In this work, we study the viability of this approach to automatically translate a huge dataset from English to Arabic for sentiment analysis purposes. Experimental results show that sentiment analysis of both original (English) dataset and the translated one (Arabic) produce comparable results. As a result, automatically translated English datasets shall add to the required resources for building robust Arabic sentiment analysis systems. Although automated translation may yield poor translations in terms of readability and comprehension by humans, sentiment analysis systems can still predict the majority of correct sentiments. Such sentiment is preserved by key words. We believe automated translation may be considered as a viable option to produce rich and well represented datasets in order to develop robust and efficient Arabic sentiment analyzers.","PeriodicalId":197301,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE/ACS 14th International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications (AICCSA)","volume":"96 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116697730","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is an interesting theoretical problem since it can model many applications in scheduling. Sum coloring problem consists on minimizing the sum of colors used to color a graph where colors are represented by naturel numbers (1, 2,. . ., k). In this paper, we present two new mathematical formulation for the underlying problem. We also propose to compute upper bounds using an adaptive iterated multistart tabu search. Experimental results show that the two mathematical formulations were able to solve exactly the NP-hard sum coloring problem. We also report for the first time exact solutions for some tested instances. This explains the growing interest of researchers in the hybrid resolution. The hybridization of algorithms aims to take advantage of each one benefits, thereby achieving better results.In this paper, a hybrid metaheuristic is proposed to solve one of the most complex variants of the knapsack problem which is the Strongly Correlated Knapsack Problem (SCKP).The proposed approach combines a proposed Ant Colony Optimization algorithm (ACO) with a 2-opt algorithm. The proposed ACO scheme used combines two ant algorithms: the MAX-MIN Ant System and the Ant Colony System.At a first stage, our proposed ACO aims to solve the SCKP to optimality. In case an optimal solution is not found, a proposed 2-opt algorithm is used. Even if the 2-opt heuristic fails to find the optimal solution, it would hopefully improve the solution quality by reducing the gap between the found solution and the optimum.The proposed algorithm was tested on a set of instances and compared with classical and recent methods reported in the literature.","PeriodicalId":197301,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE/ACS 14th International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications (AICCSA)","volume":"245 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121251388","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In fact, embedded texts in videos represent a rich source of information for indexing and automatic processing of multimedia documents. However, text recognition in video is not trivial due to many challenges like background complexity (e.g., presence of text-like objects), unknown text size/font with various colours and degraded text quality. The proposed system presents a segmentation-free recognition technique (i.e. no prior required segmentation of words into characters) using a RNN architecture. This technique relies specifically on a Multi-Dimensional Long Short Term Memory (MDLSTM) with a Connectionist Temporal Classification (CTC) output layer. Our system has been evaluated on the public AcTiV-R dataset. The obtained results are very promising.","PeriodicalId":197301,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE/ACS 14th International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications (AICCSA)","volume":"178 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123253252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The development of context-aware applications is based on a control loop with four phases. Collecting context information (phase 1), analyzing context information to detect changes (phase 2), deciding adaptation actions (phase 3) and executing the corresponding adaptation actions (phase 4) to deal with the changes. In this paper, we discuss the analysis phase (phase 2) and we propose an analysis approach. The proposed analysis approach is illustrated by an analysis procedure that aims to offer a support for application designers allowing them to design easily context-aware applications. The analysis procedure is achieved by a sequence of steps performed by the designers. We have also implemented an analysis module that aims at guiding the programmers when developing context-aware applications. To motivate the use of our approach, we present a case study related to smart buildings. Finally, we show the effectiveness of our analysis approach through experiments related to the processing time of our analysis module as well as the memory and the CPU overhead.","PeriodicalId":197301,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE/ACS 14th International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications (AICCSA)","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123748798","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These applications are innovating in the way we live. As a result, there is a huge amount of real-time spatial data generated everyday, accessed simultaneously by two types of transactions, Update transactions and User transactions (continuous requests). In real-time spatial Big Data, the performance can be increased by allowing concurrent execution of transactions. This activity is called concurrency control. The concurrency control algorithm must be used to ensure serializability of transaction scheduling and to maintain data consistency.Several works have been done in this area, but without holding into account the existence of a huge volume of data. In this paper, we apply the technique of imprecise computation for real-time spatial nested transactions. We consider that imprecise transaction consist that a User transaction is decomposed logically into a one mandatory sub-transaction and one or more optional sub-transactions and an Update transaction consists only of a single mandatory sub-transaction. We propose an improvement of an existing Two-Shadow Speculative Concurrency Control (SCC-2S) with priority with the use of the imprecise real-time spatial transaction. The works identified in the literature are developed to solve the u-accessibility and divided into two categories: Web accessibility works and assistive technologies works. The work of web accessibility presents guidelines and recommendations for the design of accessible websites while assistive technologies works, facilitate the use of computers and other devices according to the learner's disability; however, these works need to have a clear view and an overview of how systems intended assure uaccessibility for learners with disabilities. This study details a multidimensional descriptive view of u-accessibility in contextaware ubiquitous learning systems for learners with special needs through seven different views. Each view captures a particular aspect of u-accessibility, learning and guidance. Then a set of facets is associated with each particular aspect in order to study, understand and describe it appropriately. This work would be helpful for context-aware u-learning system developers in order to have a clear understanding of u-accessibility and learning process guidance for learners with special needs in such systems and highlight the guidelines to be applied and the means used to satisfy the needs as well as the requirements of the learner and the application.
