Since the one-hop communication in the network edge is predominantly wireless, Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) are being considered to build wireless fog networks. However, WMNs use distributed hop-by-hop routing protocols to reflect a partial visibility of the network, which limits their ability to perform global network management and monitoring needed by fog networks. Software Defined Networking (SDN) provides a centralized control and management of the entire network, which makes it a good candidate to support fog communication. Unfortunately, the SDN OpenFlow protocol does not support any functionalities for wireless fog networks as it is primarily targeted to wired networks. To address these issues, this paper presents a SDN-enabled wireless fog architecture that combines both OpenFlow and distributed wireless protocols. The proposed solution provides lower latency and efficient load balancing to offload the network load by enabling programmable fog routers.","PeriodicalId":197301,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE/ACS 14th International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications (AICCSA)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124941131","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The experiments apply an optimized version of the standard K-Means algorithm to assign tweets into positive and negative categories. The results show that root-based stemming has a significant advantage over light stemming in all settings. The Averaged Kullback-Leibler Divergence similarity function clearly outperforms the Cosine, Pearson Correlation, Jaccard Coefficient and Euclidean functions. The combination of the Averaged Kullback-Leibler Divergence and root-based stemming achieved the highest purity of 0.764 while the second-best purity was 0.719. These results are of importance as it is contrary to normal-sized documents where, in many information retrieval applications, light stemming performs better than root-based stemming and the Cosine function is commonly used.","PeriodicalId":197301,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE/ACS 14th International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications (AICCSA)","volume":"83 1 Pt 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116411213","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While NoSQL systems have proven their efficiency to handle Big Data, it is still an unsolved problem how the automatic storage of Big Data in NoSQL systems could be done. One solution for addressing this problem is to model Big Data, and then define mapping rules towards the physical level. This paper proposes an automatic MDAbased approach that translates conceptual models expressed using the Unified Modeling Language (UML) into NoSQL physical models. Our approach rely on an intermediate logical model compatible with column, document and graph oriented systems which allows to choose the system type that suits the best with business rules and technical constraints.","PeriodicalId":197301,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE/ACS 14th International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications (AICCSA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130893420","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Multisets allow the representation of imperfect information in a Knowledge-Based System (KBS), in the multivalued logic context. New facts are deduced using approximate reasoning. In the literature, dealing with imperfect information relies on an implicit assumption: the distribution of terms is uniform on a scale ranging from 0 to 1. Nevertheless, in some cases, a sub-domain of this scale may be more informative and may include more terms. In this work, we focus on approximate reasoning within these sets, known as unbalanced sets, in the context of multi-valued logic. We introduce an approach based on the Generalized Modus Ponens (GMP) model using Generalized Symbolic Modifiers (GSM). The proposed model is implemented in a tool for autism diagnosis by means of unbalanced severity degrees of the Childhood Autism Rating Scale (CARS). We obtain satisfying results on the distinction between autistic and not autistic child compared to psychiatrists diagnosis.","PeriodicalId":197301,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE/ACS 14th International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications (AICCSA)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114445527","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This new transform extends the Generalized Multi Directional Radon Transform (GMDRT) in order to outperform its recognition rates. Despite the great success of GMDRT for the geometric shape detection, it still limited in dealing with the scale variation issue. Our proposed approach combines the GMDRT and Wavelet Transform (WT) to recognize shapes with different scales. We have observed a clear improvement in terms of classification accuracy compared to the GMDRT. Experiments of the proposed approach is done on the MPEG7 dataset. Comparison with some previous approaches demonstrates the efficiency of the proposed approach in detecting complex objects, even under geometric transformations.","PeriodicalId":197301,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE/ACS 14th International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications (AICCSA)","volume":"43 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128353973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditional evacuation plans seem to be inefficient and lack of flexibility owing to the difficulty in predicting both the behavior of evacuees and building status in such disasters. The emergence of smart building and technologies can help to design real-time evacuation guidance systems. They will provide shortest routes for evacuees regarding their position in the building by avoiding crowd and fire propagation. We propose a guidance system based on an ant colony optimizer. Experiments are performed to illustrate the ability of this intelligent guidance system in providing realistic plans according to the building parameters. Also, the decision maker can assess the safety of a given building by simulating evacuation process.","PeriodicalId":197301,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE/ACS 14th International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications (AICCSA)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129506216","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose an energy aware routing (EAR) in Carrier Ethernet networks operating with Shortest Path Bridging (SPB) protocol with equal cost multi-path (ECMP). Since traffic load has no influence on power consumption of Carrier Ethernet network elements, the conventional solution to reduce power consumption is to find the maximal set of network elements that can be turned off on so that the network performance is not deteriorated. To tackle this optimization problem, we propose an exact method based on Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) formulation, called SPB energy-aware routing (SPB-EAR). Since SPB-EAR is proved to be NP-hard, we present two heuristics algorithm suitable for large-sized networks, called Green SPB (G-SPB) and Fast Greedy SPB (FG-SPB). In this work, we consider that a connection between two nodes is represented by bundled link consisting of multiple cables. Experimentations on four realistic network topologies show that G-SPB and FG-SPB can save almost as much power consumption as SPB-EAR.","PeriodicalId":197301,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE/ACS 14th International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications (AICCSA)","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124076611","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, ICN contents are distributed in a scalable and cost-efficient manner. With the rapid growth of IoT traffic, ICN is intended to be a suitable architecture to support IoT networks. In fact, ICN provides unique persistent naming, in-network caching and multicast communications which reduce the data producer load and the response latency. Using ICN in an IoT environment requires a study of caching policies in terms of cache placement strategies and cache replacement policies. To this end, we address, in this paper, caching challenges with the aim to identify which caching policies are suitable for IoT networks. Simulation findings show that the combination of the consumer-cache caching strategy and the RR cache replacement policy is the most convenient in IoT environments in terms of hop reduction ratio, server hit reduction and response latency.","PeriodicalId":197301,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE/ACS 14th International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications (AICCSA)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127419268","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This should mainly distinguish acts of violence. The survey discusses the current methods and techniques that are being applied for the task of automated violence recognition in the images derived from video surveillance sequences. To do this, we propose a fusion strategy after using a variety of feature extraction algorithms to obtain the points-of-interest from input images and each of the extracted feature vectors is submitted to a classifier. In a decision fusion strategy, different classifiers are used to classify a feature vector and to establish a most suitable decision to classify the input action as violent or non-violent. We study the performance of the mentioned approaches on 21 datasets of human interaction images. Experiments were implemented in Matlab computing environment. This paper aspires to be a contribution for researchers who wish to improve the study of violent activity recognition and gather inspiration on the main challenges to tackle in this emerging field.","PeriodicalId":197301,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE/ACS 14th International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications (AICCSA)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125582601","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
