The model is built on an analogy of load flow problem in an interconnected power system; with a proven convexity under the various constraints. It is capable of incorporating water quality of the augmentation source, and changes in the water quality in river base flow due to augmentation. Further, the mathematical model has been used to pretense the flow problem as a constrained optimization problem.","PeriodicalId":197298,"journal":{"name":"2010 9th International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering","volume":"2012 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127410148","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on this, this paper reveals the filtering mechanism of the new inductive filtering technology, and obtains the necessary impedance condition of the new transformer and the tuned condition of the full-tuned circuit to suppress the main harmonic currents in the secondary windings. Finally, a test study on a railway traction prototype system with the AIHS-type single-phase traction transformer is performed to verify the correctness of theoretical analysis, and present the good inductive filtering performance that the new transformer has.","PeriodicalId":197298,"journal":{"name":"2010 9th International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127442072","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In a deregulated environment, Loss Allocation in the transmission lines is one of the most important problem, so a transmission loss allocation (TLA) method for generator and load nodes is presented by considering mathematical formulation between node power and line power flow. The formulation is based on X-matrix in DC transmission network. By the TLA method, an optimization strategy of DC power dispatch is proposed compare with AC optimal power flow (OPF) and former DC-OPF method. The proposed TLA method is also one of useful way to assess network use cost for individual transaction participant in the deregulated power market. The effectiveness of the proposed methods is illustrated through numerical examples for IEEE-118 power system.","PeriodicalId":197298,"journal":{"name":"2010 9th International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127888522","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also, it allows the integration of renewable energy to the grid without the need for interfacing transformer. This paper investigates the dynamics behaviour of a five-level modular inverter connected to the grid when subjected to major transient events, such as loss of major load and AC faults. A new PAPR reduction method for the OFDM system by combining both clipping method and time domain statistical method has been proposed and investigated. The approach is very flexible and can work with arbitrary number of sub-carries without restriction on the type of modulation applied on them. Furthermore, there is no need for side information, and no loss in terms of data rate. Simulation results show that more than 6dB reduction in the PAPR value can be achieved using the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":197298,"journal":{"name":"2010 9th International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129820953","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several techniques and formulations have been proposed to solve the optimal coordination of DOR problem. In this paper, harmony search algorithm (HSA) is proposed for optimal coordination of DOR in a looped distribution system. Then this algorithm is developed to a new Improvised harmony search algorithm (IHSA) to solve the same problem. IHSA employs a new method that enhance fine tuning and convergence rate of HSA. The optimal setting of over current relays for a standard distribution network are obtained and comparison between the new methods and some other methods is made.","PeriodicalId":197298,"journal":{"name":"2010 9th International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125482291","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
