Here, ODS with an ultralong lifetime of 2 10 7 years is attained with single ultrafast laser pulse induced reduction of Eu 3+ ions and tailoring of optical properties inside the Eu-doped aluminosilicate glasses. We demonstrate that the induced local modifications in the glass can stand against the temperature of up to 970 K and strong ultraviolet light irradiation with the power density of 100 kW/cm 2 . Furthermore, the active ions of Eu 2+ exhib-it strong and broadband emission with the full width at half maximum reaching 190 nm, and the photoluminescence (PL) is flexibly tunable in the whole visible region by regulating the alkaline earth metal ions in the glasses. Here, we propose a silicon dielectric cuboid nanoantenna for simultaneously enhancing electric dipole (ED), magnetic dipole (MD) and electric quadrupole (EQ) emission. We study the scattering cross section, polarization charge distribution, and electromagnetic field distribution for electromagnetic plane wave illuminating the silicon dielectric cuboid nanoantenna, from which we have identified simultaneous existence of ED, MD and EQ resonance modes in this nanoantenna. We have calculated the Purcell factor of ED, MD and EQ emitters with different moment orientations as a function of radiation wavelength by placing these point radiation source within the nanoantenna, respectively. We find that the resonances wavelengths of the Purcell factor spectrum are matching with the resonance modes in the nanoantenna. Moreover, the maximum Purcell factor of these ED, MD and EQ emitters is 18, 150 and 118 respectively, occurring at the resonance wavelength of 475, 750, and 562 nm, respectively, all within the visible range. The polarization charge distribution features allow us to clarify the excitation and radiation of these resonance modes as the physical origin of large Purcell factor simultaneously occurring in this silicon cuboid nanoantenna. In this paper, the recent advances on almost all aspects of adaptive optics based on machine learning are summarized. The state-of-the-art performance of intelligent adaptive optics are reviewed. Dearden","doi":"10.29026/oea.2022.210036","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.29026/oea.2022.210036","url":null,"abstract":"The optical nonlinearity in polycrystalline zinc selenide (ZnSe), excited with 775 nm, 1 kHz femtosecond laser pulses was investigated via the nonlinear transmission with material thickness and the Z scan technique. The measured two photon absorption coefficient β was intensity dependent, inferring that reverse saturated absorption (RSA) is also relevant during high intensity excitation in ZnSe. At low peak intensity I < 5 GW cm –2 , we find β = 3.5 cm GW –1 at 775 nm. The spectral properties of the broad blueish two-photon induced fluorescence (460 nm-500 nm) was studied, displaying self-ab-sorption near the band edge while the upper state lifetime was measured to be τ e ~ 3.3 ns. Stimulated emission was observed when pumping a 0.5 mm thick polycrystalline ZnSe sample within an optical cavity, confirmed by significant line narrowing from Δ λ = 11 nm (cavity blocked) to Δ λ = 2.8 nm at peak wavelength λ p = 475 nm while the upper state lifetime also decreased. To date, most metasurface-based polarimetry techniques are severely limited by narrow operating bandwidths and inevitable crosstalk, leading to detrimental effects on imaging quality and measurement accuracy. Here, we propose a crosstalk-free broadband achromatic full Stokes imaging polarimeter consisting of polarization-sensitive dielectric metalenses, implemented by the principle of polarization-dependent phase optimization. Compared with the single-polarization optimization method, the average crosstalk has been reduced over three times under incident light with arbitrary polarization ranging from 9 μm to 12 μm, which guarantees the measurement of the polarization state more precisely. The experimental results indicate that the designed polarization-sensitive metalenses can effectively eliminate the chromatic aberration with polarization selectivity and negligible crosstalk. The measured average relative errors are 7.08%, 8.62%, 7.15%, and 7.59% at 9.3, 9.6, 10.3, and 10.6 μm, respectively. Simultaneously, the broadband full polarization imaging capability of the device is also verified.
