When such a gap in proficiency exists, students with a high level of understanding tend to find the class too simple and as a result their motivation decreases. Up until this point, we have been responding to students who have a lower level of understanding by providing them with supplementary work in order to help them reach a core competency level. On the other hand, there has not been any corresponding action on behalf of students who already have a high level of achievement. We have created a special environment with the aim of enabling students who already have a high level of technical ability to progress with self-directed free study in the areas of programming and networking. This free space is called “the Sandbox”. The results thus far include daily use by a number of students and the voluntary implementation of student-run programming contests. Three types of bilingual textbook selections are compared, and the self-compiled unified bilingual textbook is the most appropriate choice for both students and teachers. Some important aspects of teaching mode, like arrangements of multimedia courseware, teaching language selection, self-teaching application and bilingual grading method are discussed in this paper. This paper presents the major components of the laboratory exercises and describes each component used as hands-on experiments for teaching 8051 Intel Microcontroller System. It is then introduce a student feedback online system (SuFO) developed and used in a public university in Malaysia. Subsequently, this paper describes how data from SuFO is used to observe the quality of teaching between experience and inexperience lecturer. The evaluation is based on students' response in SUFO that measured the lecturers' ability based on the lecturer's professionalism and teaching methods. The results of this preliminary investigation to compare the quality of teaching between experience and inexperience lecturers are included. Thus, in this paper a framework for integrating PBL into the curriculum to enable the delivery and the assessment of the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes required by three generic program outcomes required for accreditation of engineering programs in countries that signatories to the Washington Accord. The breadth and depth required by these outcomes and how it is implemented in this framework is also highlighted.
