{"title":"The Childiri Battle According To Şecâ’atnâme","authors":"Tamar Papuashvili","doi":"10.33422/2nd.icrsh.2020.12.08","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.33422/2nd.icrsh.2020.12.08","url":null,"abstract":"To some extent, the Childiri battle determined the course of warfare being waged on the territory of Georgia at the initial stage of Ottoman-Safavid war in 1578-1590 years. It laid foundation for the success of the “Eastern Military Expedition” conducted under the command of Lala Mustafa Pasha in the Caucasus. The battle fought between Ottomans and Iranians on the valley of Childiri on the 9 th of August, 1578 is depicted by a number of Ottoman historians of Middle Ages: Gelibolulu Mustafa Ali, Müneccimbaşı Ahmed B. Lütfullah, Ebubekir Bin Abdullah, İbrahim Peçevi, Mustafa Selaniki, etc. The vast narrative about the battle is provided by Âsafî Dal Mehmed Çelebi as well, whose Şecâ’atnâme has been hitherto unknown for Georgian historiography. The author is the eyewitness and direct participant of the military processes occurring in the Caucasian region. It is natural that the accounts represented in the source are worth relying on. The interest for Şecâ’atnâme is increased by the miniatures depicting the warfare, the seizure of fortresses or meetings of historical figures participating in the war. They are singled out by the diversity of content as well as the artistic value. The illustration of the Childiri battle, where the struggle of opposite parties are vividly represented, is of utmost importance to us. Şecâ’atnâme encompasses a lot of interesting information about the Ottoman-Safavid military actions conducted on the territory of Georgia in the 2 nd half of XVI century. It increases and, to some extent, specifies our knowledge about the historical events developed at that time.","PeriodicalId":193078,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of ‏The 2nd International Conference on Research in Social Sciences and Humanities","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126015910","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In Pakistan, the mental health of university students is suboptimal especially among medical students. This study aims to identify the mental well-being and resilience among Pakistani medical students and to establish a relationship between resilience and mental well-being. Method: It was a cross-sectional study conducted in FUMC. Simple random sampling was done. Students from 2nd to 5th year MBBS were included in the study via lottery method. A structured self-administered questionnaire was used for data collection. The questionnaire comprised of Warwick Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Scale and Brief Resilience Scale as well as 9 statements that assessed the perception of medical students. Results: The mean WEMWB score was 47.41 ± 8.87 and the mean resilience score was 3.09 ± 0.68. 24.8% of medical student fell into low mental well-being category and 40.20% of medical students fell into low resilience category. The association between mental well-being and resilience came out to be significant. 83.3% of students believed that mental well-being and resilience will have an effect on their future behaviour as doctors. 80.1% of students agreed on peer interventions to improve resilience and mental well-being of medical students. Conclusion: The overall mental well-being and resilience status of medical students was normal. However a significant percentage of medical students scored low on mental well-being and resilience scales. This study also defined a significant relationship between mental well-being and resilience. Interventions should be done to improve the future behaviour of medical students as doctors.","PeriodicalId":193078,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of ‏The 2nd International Conference on Research in Social Sciences and Humanities","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133719086","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Gelli has been an Italian poet but overall one of the most important and discussed protagonist of the most obscure events in Italian chronicle of the last dozen years. Author has read several poems by Gelli analyzing overall the recurrence of certain terms besides the topics of poems and the main features of language used. It's been tried to understand the psychology of poet and to find eventual links between his poetics and his public life. Results, also if preliminary, have been interesting and showing a tuning between certain features of public Gelli, as emerged by inquires, and his poetics. There are however some not obvious aspect of Gelli psychology emerging from this analysis. And these results could make light on aspects of Gelli political action.","PeriodicalId":193078,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of ‏The 2nd International Conference on Research in Social Sciences and Humanities","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132653149","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Direct analysis of the poem would always propound a crossing of boundaries between the real and the uncanny without providing a clear interpretation of the actual context of the mariner’s tale. The mariner’s dilemma occurs when he shoots an albatross without any distinct reason, thus resulting in the death of all the crew members who turn into eccentric creatures. Accentuating his sense of guilt, the mariner stops a guest from entering a wedding and starts narrating his story. Whereas the guest never questions the reliability of the fictitious elements of the mariner's account, the readers do. Similarly, Edgar Allan Poe’s speaker posits questions to an un-welcomed guest, a raven, who visits him at night and gets infuriated at the consistent answer he receives from him: ‘Nevermore’. The readers are aware that the speaker is suffering from a psychological disorder since he insists the raven would reply to his distorted inquiries. This paper reads the mariner’s as well as the Raven’s speaker’s quandaries in association with trauma theory highlighting their traumatic experiences and underscoring the unreliability of their narration by diagnosing them as patients of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Reference will be made to the importance of the albatross and the raven as fundamental motifs that project the characters’ psychological predicaments resulting in the implausible tales they both recount.\u0000 ","PeriodicalId":193078,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of ‏The 2nd International Conference on Research in Social Sciences and Humanities","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126187482","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

{"title":"Convergence of ICT Policies in the National Communication Systems in Nigeria","authors":"I. Awagu","doi":"10.33422/2nd.icrsh.2020.12.10","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.33422/2nd.icrsh.2020.12.10","url":null,"abstract":". Nigerian information and communication industries have grown from strings of policies and regulations within their separate boundaries to a convergence under the National Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Policy in 2012. It provided a framework for restructuring the industry to transform Nigeria into knowledge based economy and competitive society in the global ICT industry. It sets the guidelines for sub-sectoral policies and specific implementation as appropriate. The technologies, media forms, issues, interests, institutions and organizations in the ICT apparatus are critical to national communication system. Despite the convergence, there is high disparity in access, infrastructure and inefficiency in the provision of networks. Like many nations in the global power grid with vibrant unified system or conglomerates in the communication system, the recent convergence in Nigeria pose the issue of the ability of the national communication system to meet the global agenda of communication systems and apply such to national development. In view of how emerging technological, political, economic and social forces are shaping ICT policies, turning the digital divide into digital convergence and equity, this paper examines the development of ICT policies in Nigeria. It investigates the prospects and challenges of the convergence of telecommunications, information technology, broadcasting and postal services under the 2012 policy. Through a review of literature and comparative analysis, it argues that the convergence of telecommunications, information technology, broadcasting and postal services under the 2012 policy is a positive step but demands faithful implementation.","PeriodicalId":193078,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of ‏The 2nd International Conference on Research in Social Sciences and Humanities","volume":"9 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131991259","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
