Optimal voltage/reactive power management is one of the most important subjects in this new structure. This paper presents a new approach for daily Volt/Var control in distribution networks in the presence of DGs. The objective function is weighted summation of voltage deviations and related costs of electrical reactive energy generated by DGs and capacitors and also electrical energy losses of distribution systems within 24 hours of the next day. The mathematical formulation presented in this paper maximizes the expected revenue of the generator by considering various stochastic parameters. The computational model developed in this work considers three random variables viz, the generating unit's availability, unscheduled interchange (UI) and load. The state transition of generating units is assumed to follow the first order Markov's process. The load and unscheduled interchange related to grid frequency follow known discrete probability distributions. Monte Carlo state duration sampling is applied for simulating the unit transitions. Both UI as well as load uncertainty are generated by state sampling approach from their probability distributions. The expected revenue generated in a day, comprising of 96 time blocks of 15 minutes duration, is statistically computed. Finally by iterative approach, the expected optimal station availability for next day's declaration is computed. In the present vector models for SSSC, which are based on d-q line currents so called indirect control methods, there is a coupling between d and q axis, and therefore a coupling between P & Q control channel is seen. Obviously it would be more interesting to completely separate the controlled parameters which in the case of a SSSC are active and reactive powers in such a way that the deviation of one of the parameters affects the other one as least as possible. By the technique presented here, an independent control of P and Q is achieved while other control parameters of the SSSC (such as rise time, settling time, overshoot and ...) are also improved and a faster and more precise response is achieved. They are mostly used in computer power supplies, servo motor drives, medical equipments etc. Luo converter is a recently developed DC-DC converter. Positive output Luo converter performs the voltage conversion from positive source voltage to positive load voltage. Parallel connection of Luo converters are used when available converters are of lower current rating but load requires higher current. Because of dissimilarities in devices and components used in converters, current drawn or supplied by each converter is unequal which will lead to converter failure or malfunction. Therefore the main control issues in parallel connected converters are to ensure proper current sharing and equalize the output currents among converters and also to ensure regulated output voltage under load and supply disturbances. The objectives of this work are to design and develop PI control for paralleled positive output Luo converters using MATLAB software. The simulation results are presented. First the impact of supply frequency variation on the performance of a DVR is illustrated. It has been shown that if a DC battery supplies the DVR, the battery ends up supplying the real power demand of the load. Moreover, the injected voltage in this case can be very high. An alternative mode of operation is discussed which uses the rectifier and DVR in cascade to supply the load. In this mode, a large amount of voltage is injected by the DVR, which is completely undesirable. To avoid this problem, the frequency of the load voltage that has to be regulated by the DVR must be synchronized with the system frequency. In this paper, frequency estimation method is used that can accurately estimate two frequencies even when they are very close to each other. The DVR can then be made to operate at the estimated source frequency. It required the fast fault detection. The fault has the fundamental components and higher order harmonics and time domain information. Analysis of these higher frequencies and noise are very helpful for the detection of the fault. For the proper planning and the operation of digital computation and simulation is necessary. These computer programs include short-circuit analysis, transients program, stability analysis, and power flow study. The extraction of the frequency component of voltage & current with the help of wavelet is presented. This frequency component directly gives the faulty transmission line resistance & reactance. The Mho relay characteristic is utilized for the analysis purpose. Calculated values of resistance & reactance are plotted in the graph. This paper proposed wavelet theory and its application in the development of transmission line protections. The proposed paper simulates a power system network in the PSCAD-a transient simulation and microcontroller program. Since the driving frequency of switching power supplies has been raised from several kHz to more than 1 MHz, the power loss of the magnetic devices must be reduced. The eddy current loss of soft ferrite will take a major proportion of iron loss in these high-frequency switching power supplies. An attempt was made to develop low loss Mn-Zn polycrystalline ferrites by increasing resistivity to decrease eddy current loss. Doped Mn-Zn ferrites were prepared by conventional ceramic technique and sintered at the temperature of 1320degC for 1-8 hours respectively in air. The DC resistivity was measured by using four-probe methods on sintered disks whose sides were polished and coated with a thin layer of silver paste as a good contact material. The magnetic permeability at room temperature was measured by using an impedance analyzer (Hewlett-Packard, Model HP4294A) with HP-16047 test fixture.
