Neverthless, uncertainty still plays its role: contractors might not have detailed information on the objective to achieve, the realization context could be not fully identified, the assumptions made at contract signing were misleading. These are just few examples of threats that can undermine the successin the achievement of contractual goals opening the door to stakeholder disputes especially when complex projects and virtual enterprises are involved. In this paper we propose a statechart model of contract management activities that formalizes the main interaction among contractors. The model represents the three fundamental states of a contract life cycle: Preparation, Execution and Termination, and is taken as reference for the ordinary life cycle management activities. In particular, we deepen the problem of dispute management providing a detailed representation useful for the dispute avoidance, if needed through the support of a mediator. The model also provides a set of transition rules that formally specify the behaviour of a reactive system for the support of contract and dispute management.","PeriodicalId":191097,"journal":{"name":"2011 5th International Conference on Software, Knowledge Information, Industrial Management and Applications (SKIMA) Proceedings","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125887280","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It includes biometrics information and ID using RFID chip or tag. The goal of e-passport is to provide strong authentication through documents that unambiguously identify the passport holder. An e-passport can protect forging of ID and can make rapid progress in immigration. The use of RFID tag may cause privacy violation of users using the tag. Due to the unique identification number of the RFID tag, this is subjected to different privacy and security threats such as information leakage of a tag, traceability of the person, denial of service attack, and impersonation of a tag. This paper investigates different privacy and security problems in RFID systems used in e-passport and proposes the implementation of a proposed authentication protocol to overcome those privacy and security problems. Simulation experiments show that the protocol is secure for larger entropy.","PeriodicalId":191097,"journal":{"name":"2011 5th International Conference on Software, Knowledge Information, Industrial Management and Applications (SKIMA) Proceedings","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114749017","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Automating this aspect has been for many years an interesting research topic for people working in several research areas. In spite of the several scientific results already achieved, generating a concrete and runnable service composition from the semantic descriptions of the domain services and the problem to solve is still an open issue. This paper presents an approach to automatic service composition in the context of autonomic workflows and a related tool developed for an IT industrial context. The tool is able to retrieve service descriptions from a repository, to support the definition of the problem to solve, to generate an abstract plan and to translate it into an executable process language, such as WS-BPEL. This way, the tool covers the overall life-cycle of auto-nomic workflows, from their inception to the adaptive execution. The paper compares the approach with other proposals and shows its effectiveness through a case study that exploits automatic service composition to handle an emergency situation caused by a hydro-geological disaster.","PeriodicalId":191097,"journal":{"name":"2011 5th International Conference on Software, Knowledge Information, Industrial Management and Applications (SKIMA) Proceedings","volume":"83 8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126435075","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There has been already some research on the general model for analysis and design of WIS. This paper attempts to define a comprehensive framework for integrating the various viewpoints of model for WIS. Several components that compose of a WIS as analyzing and designing element are investigated and described as modeling element and enabling tool for creating consistent and integrated system. The major modeling components are: the Web site, semi structured document, business processes, element of knowledge management, the enterprise and information architecture, and autonomous software components providing functional services. These elements are integrated into a unified framework exploiting partly the object-oriented paradigm and partly other approaches for information system modeling. The outlined WIS model incorporates the most recent approaches for various paradigms of traditional information systems analysis and the most modern different approaches of WIS. The research result would be useful both theoretically and practically as it could present a comprehensive model for WIS assisting our understanding of properties of WIS and supporting, at the same time, a framework for being able to formulate a practical development method for achievement of WIS by organizations making the most of Web.","PeriodicalId":191097,"journal":{"name":"2011 5th International Conference on Software, Knowledge Information, Industrial Management and Applications (SKIMA) Proceedings","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116824485","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Every order is different since each customer requires that their aircrafts respect particular specifications, then it is necessary to carry out an estimation cost of spare parts Service each time there is a certain request. At present the calculation process used in order to define The Spare Parts Service is an “Exact Estimation” method, through the OPUS10 Tool, very accurate, but extremely expensive in terms of time and processing time. Since, unfortunately, not all orders come to a successful conclusion, in the first negotiation phase (RFQ) it is possible to use an approximated calculation method allowing a great time and thus costs reduction. This paper goal is to search a mathematical algorithm, in a necessary approximation circle, that can substitute an exact method with a parametric estimation methodology.","PeriodicalId":191097,"journal":{"name":"2011 5th International Conference on Software, Knowledge Information, Industrial Management and Applications (SKIMA) Proceedings","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131845125","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research presents the problem in Constraint Satisfaction Problem (CSP) and further tackling it using Constraint Programming. The prototype system has been developed to evaluate the proposed method using problem statement case study from one of the large agricultural product supplier in the north of Thailand. The developed system deals with practical constraints including hard constraints e.g. vehicle capacity, time window, vehicle usage restriction and fleet constraints, and soft constraint which is a minimising of using subcontractor. The results showed a primary success of the proposed method in providing efficiency decision for agricultural transport planning.","PeriodicalId":191097,"journal":{"name":"2011 5th International Conference on Software, Knowledge Information, Industrial Management and Applications (SKIMA) Proceedings","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123367071","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, a passive UHF RFID system has challenges in tagging a metallic object due to effects of conducting materials on the tag antenna performance. This study presents investigation and analysis of effects of a metallic surface on the performance of commonly used label-type dipole tag antenna. The performance is evaluated based on the return loss and change in resonance frequency of the tag antenna. To conduct the performance analysis, a folded dipole and a meandered dipole antenna are proposed for a passive tag. The proposed antennas are designed on low profile antenna which can operate at 866 MHz in the UK and Europe UHF RFID frequency band. The design also takes into account of impedance matching, feeding techniques, size-reduction, and bandwidth of the passive UHF tag antenna. Finally, simulation result shows that when the tag antenna is mounted closer to a metallic surface, the return loss of tag antenna is significantly increased and the resonance frequency is also shifted from the desired frequency.","PeriodicalId":191097,"journal":{"name":"2011 5th International Conference on Software, Knowledge Information, Industrial Management and Applications (SKIMA) Proceedings","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133972080","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The concept of freight village (FV) is developed from a sustainability-oriented perspective, which is playing an important role in the trend of pursuing sustainable logistics industry. This paper seeks to adopt the KM as an aid to addressing sustainable development of freight villages (FVs). On the basis of operative functions, two knowledge flows functioning in the context of a sustainability-oriented FV have been described, which named internal knowledge flow and supportive knowledge flow. Then, a mode of interacting processes is proposed to clarify that KM are improving the sustainability level of a business organisation on different layers. Finally, a KM framework conducting FVs for their sustainable development is provided. The tasks and characteristics of knowledge application at three levels of sustainability-oriented FVs are also detailed in this paper.","PeriodicalId":191097,"journal":{"name":"2011 5th International Conference on Software, Knowledge Information, Industrial Management and Applications (SKIMA) Proceedings","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134149329","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to the United Nations Creative Economy Report 2010, there are a number of features indicating that in 2008–2009, the world economy faced its most severe recession in 70 years, which largely undermined growth, employment and quality of life. In this context, while traditional businesses and manufacturing were seriously hit, the knowledge-based creative sectors were more resistant to this world crisis. This paper addresses the issue of experts' motivation and contributions to university New Product Development (NPD) projects through a specific methodology. A case study developed at the College of Arts, Media and Technology (CAMT), Chiang Mai University (CMU) is provided to validate the proposed methodology. An individual case study was employed to analyze the results and outcomes of the project. Findings reveal that to ensure long-term success of the university NPD project and University Business Incubation (UBI) center, a spiral of knowledge (SECI model) is essential to reach higher levels of knowledge. This spiral of knowledge can be achieved by raising experts' motivation and contribution towards the university by continuous contribution from experts and/or an expansion of the expert network.","PeriodicalId":191097,"journal":{"name":"2011 5th International Conference on Software, Knowledge Information, Industrial Management and Applications (SKIMA) Proceedings","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116129665","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
