At the same time, innovation ability is one of the important factors for enterprises to obtain core competitiveness. In the long-term and stable development of enterprises and society, the innovation ability of enterprises and the fulfillment of social responsibilities play a crucial role. First of all, on the basis of understanding the background and current situation of corporate social responsibility management in the era of big data, this paper focuses on government subsidy policies in the era of big data to study the relationship between improving corporate innovation ability and strengthening corporate social responsibility performance. Secondly, this paper makes use of the data of 500 enterprises from 2016 to 2020 by quantitative analysis and empirical analysis. The results show that there is a positive correlation between innovation capability and Corporate social responsibility, and government subsidies positively regulate the impact of innovation capability on corporate social responsibility. Finally, based on the above conclusions, this paper puts forward the following suggestions for economic development: First, enterprises should realize that R&D investment and economic benefits should be equal, and both are the top priority of economic development. Second, companies must actively maintain investment in research and development, using digital technologies such as the Internet, the Internet of Things and big data for front-end and back-end development. Third, to further stimulate the internal vitality of enterprises, the government needs to maintain tax reduction and exemption policies for high-tech enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises.","PeriodicalId":189819,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business and Economic Development","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126665780","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the work from home system affects the consumption patterns of workers. To achieve the research objectives, data were collected through questionnaires which were distributed to workers in Indonesia who implement the work from home system. Previous studies noted that working from home will increase the intensity of internet use, causing depression problems among workers which in turn affects their buying patterns. The survey participants are 145 workers who have monthly income and have worked in the current employer for minimum 6 months. Data collected were analyzed using a quantitative method, in which the relationship between two or more variables are examined. The mediating theoretical model was tested using Process Model 4. Results revealed that workers who work from home have higher tendency to involve in compulsive buying behavior than those who work onsite. We also found that the effect was mediated by the feeling of loneliness. Theoretical and practical contributions are discussed.","PeriodicalId":189819,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business and Economic Development","volume":"3 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122527471","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The karma doctrine posits that all decisions and behaviors result in consequences. This belief is widely embraced globally as shown by previous research. Despite the importance of karma belief in daily life, research on the role of karma in consumers’ decision, in particular green marketing context is relatively rare. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether belief in karma can increase the intention to purchase green products. In order to achieve the study’s goal, data from 188 adult respondents were collected in this study. The respondents were reached by the convenience sampling method. Using a quantitative method, this study investigates the existence and type of relationship between constructs; thus, the analytical tool used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). This study found that the relationship between karma belief and green product purchase intention is mediated by two constructs, namely, environmental awareness and global warming belief. Theoretical and practical contributions are discussed.","PeriodicalId":189819,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business and Economic Development","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128049019","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
